  1. Yes it will be painted black -- I am not sure on the boot just yet. I'd rather go ahead and get them out there and worry about things like the boot a bit later on.
  2. When they are in production I'll work on a pre-order.
  3. I don't have much in the way of other brand stuff to compare except an older Memphis HPO and many of you may be familiar with it... you can see the E line motor is no slouch and ALOT more than you would expect to get from a small line driver for around 100 bucks retail. The E motor has more steel than the HPO and a wider magnet... just a shorter stack of ferrite. * Gap vents and the "neat" touches I did cosmetically on the steel shaping * BEEF
  4. E-10/12/15 Prototypes are here! After initial testing the only thing I need to do is tool some spacers to put under the frames as these bad boys can get moving a good bit ! Otherwise I'm very pleased so far.
  5. Our guys in Russia do it fairly often -- I'd use around 0.2 cubes.
  6. We should be doing the drawing on Friday -- event went great ! Thanks for contributing !
  7. Bit of an experiment on my part... everyone goes crazy over T/S specs without really understanding them so I've been holding off on releasing them for these drivers.
  8. With the 18s you have a huge 9.25" spider so they'll handle some juice. We rate them 1500 RMS conservatively.
  9. We've extended the sale -- go check it out !
  10. I've been busy... if you cannot tell by all the new product / new prototype threads the last two days. I've been quietly doing testing on some E line prototypes for a bit... and based on what I've learned, tested, etc this is what I've come up with for these guys. Rating will be 300-400 RMS pending a bit more testing on the end product. I've tested some other very good prototypes as well but I feel like these best represent a "Sundown Woofer" as in what our customers expect to get from us. These just finished up at our factory so I should have them in a week or two for some videos and whatnot. IMO these are a little different than what you are used to seeing from an entry line driver  Pricing Estimate from authorized dealer : E-10 : $105 E-12 : $110 E-15 : $130 All specs are with minimal break-in time. Frames will be black when produced. !!! I DO NOT HAVE THE ETA JUST YET !!! All of them feature foam surrounds, dust caps similar to the SA line, high excursion spiders, and excellent coil ventilation for an Entry level driver. The stamped frames are a very strong tooling as well. ---------- E-10 : D2 Specs D4 Specs ---------- E-12 : D2 Specs D4 Specs ---------- E-15 : D2 Specs D4 Specs
  11. Z v.3 pricing = Z v.2 pricing for reference.
  12. Nick Lemon's of Stereo Integrity / Obsidian Audio will be doing the SA-8s for a bit as Mike (woofercooker) has been traveling for work and so forth so is not able to do them at this time. Re-coned SA8's - Car Audio Classifieds ---------- Nick has been re-coning both the 12-spoke and new style frame drivers that didn't meet QC standards and/or warranty replacements. At the moment the shallow cones for 12-spokes are out of stock -- so only the new style frame units are available. $90 plus shipping EACH UNIT If you are interested in these you MUST EMAIL NICK YOUR ZIP CODE!!! His e-mail address is [email protected] DO NOT PM NICK OR ME -- DO NOT E-MAIL SUNDOWN Quoting Nick's For Sale Below : "Re-coned and in perfect working order. The drivers are being sold as-is with no warranty. I bought a lot of used motors from Jake, am cleaning them up, putting new baskets and spacer rings on them and re-coning the drivers with all new soft parts. For those of you who don't know me, I own Stereo Integrity and am a partner/subwoofer designer for Obsidian Audio and I also build production drivers, do re-cones, and drop-in's for Sundown Audio. I can build any SA-8 you want. Normal coils are dual 2 Ohm and dual 4 Ohm."
  13. Pricing, Depth, Specs, Test Videos, Etc, all in the link
  14. As they were just loaded up this week we are expecting them in ~30 days. I am not planning to do any pre-ordering as we are backed up enough on built products as-is but they will be available soon
  15. Some production shots from the factory before they were loaded up : ---------- SD-2 10" ---------- SD-2 12" ---------- You will note these have 16 vent holes in the frame vs. 12 on the prototypes and the surround is stitched on -- the surround material is also an upgraded material. Otherwise the cone / spider / frame are equal to the SA line. The motor and coil shrank down a bit -- so you can think of the SD-2 like a "mini-SA" line.
  16. Some pics of a few pallets of our Z v.3 motors at the factory before magnet boots are put on : * Similar style cap to newest SA series. * Large rear flare applied like newest SA series.
  17. They are an authorized dealer - as with many online dealers they get us to drop-ship which takes a couple of days generally.
  18. Some other amps will not be damaged by the DC input -- depends on the design. Ours will not like it.
  19. Check the RCA signal for DC voltage -- I've noted several OEM adapters recently putting out ~5v DC on the RCA cables. While investigating this contact us for service.
  20. There is no need for further discussion - it needs service as I said earlier. Likely a small part that went bad for no particular reason; which can happen. E-Mail for service.
  21. You can use identical boxes to the SA line sealed or ported.
  22. ETA was pushed back a bit from initial estimate -- received e-mail notification this morning of an ETA at our shop around 10/24/11 -- so keep that in mind !
