Shallow Component Set
They are not designed to imitate the Illusion drivers -- they simply share the front mount motor idea

Difference between Nightshade and Z v3?
The old NS v.1 is 1500-watts RMS ; the v.2 is 2000-watts RMS The Z v.3 will be 1500-watts RMS

Fun little "SQ" project I'm starting today
I'd say a 1000-watt rating would be reasonable with the "NSQ" coil considering how effective the motor ventilation is -- but certainly not 2000 anymore

SA-8 v.2 Prototype Video
I have something special in the works for the v.2 of the SA-8 I decided that nothing I've tried yet makes me say "DAMN... that sure beats the first version hands down!" -- so I'm going farther with it before release. This will drive cost up... but IMO will be totally worth it. I may be able to bump power handling up to 600 RMS to match the other sizes of the SA series. Stay tuned.

Fun little "SQ" project I'm starting today
I expect the Qts to be somewhere in the 0.35 to 0.45 range -- may take a couple tries on the spiders to nail it... but I'm shooting for a flexible sealed / ported capable driver with a pretty low Fs.

Fun little "SQ" project I'm starting today
If the awesome factor is high enough I may even offer an "NSQ" woofer setup this way Of course it will be one of the worlds biggest, heaviest, and deepest SQ drivers *laughs*

Fun little "SQ" project I'm starting today
Just got off the phone with my local machine shop... looks like they can make the copper tube I need @ 75mm long x 74mm ID x 76mm OD Also looks like I can get a 77mm diameter coil former from Precision... and that I have a nifty motor here already in stock with a 40mm tall top plate. Can anyone guess what I'm doing ? Hint : When I'm done with the first one it's going in my daily driver.

I haven't put one back together... we have Taco and Paco testing all the SA subs in stock currently to get them all together.

sundown z v.3 or nightshade
Nightshade line has a higher motor force, more linear x-max, and a bit more maximum thermal power handling.

Z v.2 Line SOLD OUT
Hey guys -- our Z v.2 line is now SOLD OUT. If you have a super emergency need for one I can dig up some used motors from our legendary "sea of woofers" in the top secret back room... but as for new that is it for them! People that have *already* ordered them or already asked me should be good but no new sales will be available unless a used motor will do. Z v.3 motors are coming in with the next container of SA woofers and SD-2 woofers in ~90 days... we will be doing final assembly here in Troutman, NC for at least several hundred units. I am pleased with the legacy of the Z v.2 line -- we actually sold more of these than the Nightshade v.1 line (seems like everyone has had or does have an NS v.1) with much more sales going to local dealers and customers outside of the Team. I think the Z v.3 line will be another good step in the right direction for what out customers are asking for out of a 1500-watt daily woofer

first post on this forum have a ?
You will have a flatter overall response with the SA-12 sealed. Of course Pink Floyd and Styx don't really have a ton of bass to being with -- so you'll need to use the sub control on your HU or amp remote gain knob to boost those songs up.

"Monster" v.2 Prototype Due Soon
We are working out the coil details still -- making it longer than the original is going to be challenging for a D1 coil

NS-1 and SAE-500D Prototype Pictures
Some initial NS-1 testing in Brandon's truck -- we haven't gone in depth yet to see if we can squeeze more out of it; just a quick initial test before we head home today. Best clamp was 6090 watts @ 1.3 ohm actual @ 12.1 volts actual using my Extech True RMS power clamp meter about 6-8 seconds into the tone to avoid picking up initial spikes. I think we have more left in it - more testing to come as we get it dialed in a bit! 380976 - Single Phase/Three Phase 1000A AC Power Clamp Meter : This is the clamp I use here for product testing. You will find it reads much lower than using two normal clamp meters separately for voltage and current as this meter was made to measure power. So not directly comparable to any other testing but my own with the same clamp.
