  1. http://www.sundownaudio.com/misc/customer_test/CIMG4719.MOV The returned D2 woofer -- when we go towards the back of the sub you can hear some "wooshing" which is air-flow through the frame venting holes. There are zero rattling noises of any kind present. The video was produced with an SAZ-2500D at over 75% maximum levels.
  2. Copy of e-mail reply : Michael, We have the D2 unit here now that you returned and it is operationally flawless -- no problems whatsoever with the driver. I just tested it again to confirm and I am currently uploading a video. It seems as if you are either 1) Doing something wrong 2) Your test setup is flawed and/or amplifier over-driven and/or wired wrong or 3) You are hearing air noise from the motor vents and assuming it is something else. As for the fitment -- they are 100% identical to one another dimensionally. See attached photos of your D2 woofer and a new D4 with cooling ring. The D2 you sent back to us actually does not have a cooling ring for reference. - Jacob
  3. There is nothing operationally wrong with your sub -- not the one you sent back or the one we sent out again. We test them on a 2500D at near full power in free air before they go out. This is absolutely an install problem of some kind. As far as fitment the dimensions have not changed since the subs came out originally. Same frame, same motor, new and old spacer are the same total height, etc. In this regard I have no idea.
  4. 2500s going fast... four left.
  5. I've got a few Stinger SP2150s for sale -- if you are interested email me. It will cost me an arm and a legg to ship a big battery to Martinique (FWI). I got a quote from XS and it was extremely expensive. If you like email me your information and I'll call and get a quote -- I get really good FedEx international. It's worth a shot
  6. Likely when they come back in stock -- we are sold out.
  7. I do not suggest this.
  8. I've got a few Stinger SP2150s for sale -- if you are interested email me.
  9. Added photos -- all of the units for sale right now are simply used.
  10. 2 ohms bridged is stable... For example you can run : 200 x 4 @ 4 ohms on 1 + 2 and 800 x 1 @ 2 ohms on 3 + 4

  12. Mid to end of February I have more of all sizes / coils on SA series coming in.
  13. Anything we have will be posted up in here.
  14. See original post for both answers : "So these are some things I'll be working on introducing to the SA series around summer time." "A few things came to mind on the 10/12/15 design :"
  15. I am working on all of these things at one time -- each item takes quite a bit of time between samples and testing so I work on other things while I'm waiting.
  16. Great ! Glad you like it
  17. No, it's not -- I used it on the 8" for the clearance. I am happy with the frame on the other sizes.
  18. It has some very good design features -- it is a technology leader in it's price class for sure... especially the new one. Lots of cool and patented technology in it... as a speaker designer I am impressed by many of the features of it... more so after speaking with the engineer at CES.
  19. I am thinking about sending the SA-12 in for Klippel once I get these revisions in
  20. You guys know I am always working to improve things! As good as the SA series is I sat down and though, "How can I make them better ?" A few things came to mind on the 10/12/15 design : 1) I tested a different rear pole flare shape that is a little more efficient so I will be implementing that. As if the SA needed more thermal capacity, right ? 2) I am going to add a magnet ID shorting ring -- almost nothing in this price range has a shorting ring (the Type-R is one of the few I can think of). This will reduce inductive distortion and produce a bit less reactive impedance rise. So these are some things I'll be working on introducing to the SA series around summer time. The shorting ring is the first revision that concerns me at all mixing with old models... most likely will not be a huge problem to mix, though. So the part number will not be changed to v.2 The shorting ring is actually quite expensive but I am using my newest cost savings from bringing in higher quantity to keep the cost the same for customers. To date the SA series price has only changed about 6 dollars from the original pricing despite the constant improvements. Should you wait for these if you are in the market now ? Most likely not -- while both are improvements they won't be night and day different. ----- Now... for the SA-8 I have been testing some things for a little while now... I'm not quite done but I've come up with a few things. I am still in the testing phase... but these changes include a different frame, newly custom tooled spider, and possibly an all new coil design. For now I'll just post a picture of an early sample with the new frame as more testing is in order for these revisions. The new spider hasn't made it's way to me yet so data is limited If all of this works out this WILL be a v.2 unit and not compatible with older units -- but no worries... I have several hundred of the current models on the way for anyone that needs a match to have their chance. v.2 SA-8 First Sample... this one I was testing the new frame and coil -- the new spider is not done yet.
  21. Realized that I don't have them on the site or anywhere easy to find at the moment -- so here we go : D2 Model : RE: 3.28 ohms (series) FS: 41.6 Hz Qes: 0.513 Qms: 6.606 Qts: 0.476 Le: 2.778 mH Vas: 3.285 L BL: 17.138 N/A Cms: 83.341 um/N Mms: 175.654 g Sens: 78.476 dB @ 1w/1m BL^2/RE: 89.5 D4 Model : RE: 6.08 ohms Fs: 44.66 Hz Qes: 0.594 Qms: 6.337 Qts: 0.545 Le: 4.26 mH VAS: 4.44 L BL: 21.20 N/A Cms: 80.8 uM/N Mms: 157 g Sens: 80.06 @ 1w/1m BL^2/RE: 73.92
  22. Will be updating this as we move along building one of each. Each one will be relatively fresh with ~5 minutes of break-in time playing low frequencies on our bench 1500D. Amount of break-in between coil configurations isn't necessarily identical -- check CMS, a lower number indicates the suspension is still tighter.
