  1. This pre-order will be ending in around a week or so... maybe less. So if you want to get an amp on pre-order now is the time.
  2. These will most likely be in this week... so pre-order closed.
  3. The top ring is the one I took off -- they still and always have also had an internal shorting ring.
  4. I will also be adding an internal aluminum shorting ring standard on these -- a feature not commonly found on woofers in this category. This reduces inductance, flattens the inductance curve, improves power delivery by lowering reactive rise, and also is a bit of a heat-sink (minimal). Our Z v.2 (and v.3) and Nightshade v.2 models feature this as well and I decided to trickle it down
  5. The X-12 will be around $285 MAP or so -- similar progression in pricing difference per size as the SA line as well.
  6. You can use white paper until it's snug... probably about 12 sheets of typical printer paper.
  7. 10s will be the last size to come out -- they are the lowest seller.
  8. I have some plans for larger diameter coils but they are far enough off that it's not worth bringing up just yet.
  9. Makes perfect sense to me
  10. Technically you can find light duty subs with huge diameter coils if you look around -- but they also typically have a short winding height like the new Alpine Shallow Type-R : http://www.alpine-usa.com/product/view/swr-t12 -- 4 inch coil Or the JL Audio Shallow : http://mobile.jlaudio.com/products_subs_pages.php?page_id=245 -- 7 inch coil IMO -- if the new 4" coil BL has a WW and cooling setup anything like the current model it will be legitimately much more than a 1kw driver... likely would out-perform the older BTLs thermally for that matter. I can only imagine if they still rate it for 1kw that is simply to be very conservative ----- In any event -- in our case -- we are still working on the soft parts for a 4" coil... have had a spider drawn up for some time but other projects have been priority.
  11. Thanks! I am also very happy to be where we are in this economy and I am thankful every day to the customers, dealers, and distributors that helped us get here and help us continue to expand.
  12. That is a long term goal of ours as you know It will take alot to support buying the machinery but I think within the next few years we may be able to start doing some of those things.
  13. Thanks! I too am very impressed with how well things have gone... I guess hard work does pay off and doing your best for customers doesn't go unrewarded !
  14. I am adding a phone / paperwork person early next year. I will also need a dedicated shipping guy at some point... as I personally pack and ship nearly every box that goes out of Sundown still as I am VERY picky about how things are packed, taped, etc. I was a shipping warehouse guy before I started up Sundown
  15. I'm not sure why but they all do seem to have big holes in the insulation *laughs* The company in this building before us sold leather and I bought a huge piece of crocodile leather for my Jeep's head-liner (seriously... mainly to be funny).
  16. This spider isn't one of the regressive units I've shown you but is indeed very nice -- very much like what I'm using on the Z v.3
  17. For a 1000-watt sub a 4" coil is bit time over-kill for one. Secondly, as was mentioned, I wouldn't have room for a good spider as we are on the 7" landing. Third, as was also mentioned, the coil would be VERY heavy as we are using copper windings. --- As an "in general" why we don't have a 4" coil driver yet -- the simple answer is I'm still working on soft parts for that. Don't worry... things are in the works.
  18. Thanks Jon -- it has been alot of work to get here but I'm really glad to be doing what I'm doing ! Nothing that I love more than continually improving products and helping customers whenever I can
  19. Few sneak peaks of the new place -- not a "new" building but new to us and MUCH bigger than what we have now. Will hold all the new products that we are planning to introduce and more of what we currently offer Our place now has been great for the last few years but we simply cannot fit everything in it any longer! We'll be starting construction on our office / work area shortly in the far back right hand corner pretty soon as well.
  20. So our warehouse is fairly empty right now -- but we have all sorts of inventory coming into stock within the next two weeks or so! We are working hard to prepare for it as there will be a TON of shipping going on. Hopefully the Holiday season doesn't delay delivery for too many folks who put in pre-orders -- I think it will probably take us a full 5 or 6 work days to get all of the pre-orders out to everyone once everything arrives; I am planning to work late as well during those days to speed it up as much as possible... currently expecting our shipments to be in around December 12th to 15th (of course this could change but we'll keep you guys up to date). Most of the SA-15s are already sold so we'll likely be out before my next batch arrives... good news on that is the next batch is going to be bigger than this one and is due in February, so we shouldn't be out of them for too long. The year is coming to an end and I'd like to say thanks to all of our customers who have been patient with everything going on the last quarter -- primarily being out of stock of nearly everything for the last month or two! This was due to some things we've been working on to expand for next year -- I expect stock to be much stronger in 2011 by FAR, though, and we are moving into a much bigger warehouse to facilitate the additional stock in January. So - thanks again to all our customers for making it all possible !
  21. I am extending the pre-order for a little while longer in case anyone wanted to get in on it but wasn't able to before the end of November. I will run this until I get notification that the amps are on the final truck on their way to our warehouse. We expect the amps within 2 weeks or so based on the latest information -- updates will be posted as they come in.
  22. Yes it will -- the same boxes should work perfectly.
  23. I am expecting 1 or 2 sizes by early summer. Damn you jacob! i need two 18's before Feb 1'st lol Sorry -- working as fast as I can !
  24. Yes, these use a 3" coil
