  1. If you need subs now get the SAs and sell them when these are ready -- I won't have my final samples until ~February so these are a ~May item.
  2. We have the SA @ 600 and the Z v.2 @ 1500 now So the X fits right in between the SA and Z series. The SA to Z gap was a bit too wide
  3. The gain on the master amp is a little over half way up, and with the gain knob it's a little below half way up. You think thats too high? I'm going to call you ina second. This varies based on the source voltage -- I would just slowly turn it down until the amp stops going into protect
  4. Most likely you just need to turn the gain down a bit -- you can get them to protect just by having that too high even at 1 ohm.
  5. Working on it as fast as I can -- but all the custom tooled parts are going to make it take alot longer to produce.
  6. The main difference is simply more maximum thermal capacity. I am working hard to try and match or exceed the per-watt performance of the SA as well -- that is a bit more tricky as the coil is naturally a bit heavier.
  7. Exactly the same as the SA-12 @ 19mm one-way linear. The vertical motor / coil geometry is identical -- but it got wider in both coil and magnet OD
  8. I am expecting 1 or 2 sizes by early summer.
  9. A few pre-production changes are going on... 1) I am changing these to 8-layer flat aluminum coils from the currently tested 4-layer round aluminum coils. 2) This will raise the cost to about the same as the Z v.2 price now, so they won't be cheaper now -- these coils are about 2.5x more expensive than the 4-layer round units. Good news is they provide enough benefit that I decided to go this route on the driver for the stock coil I am sure nobody will be let down by the added benefit. Otherwise the pictured units with chrome motors are what will be produced.
  10. Price is TBA. ETA is TBA. This woofer weighs 34 lbs vs 26 lbs for the SA-12
  11. I am working on the pricing details -- will post when available. 18s will be a bit later after 12s and 15s but we are indeed planning them in this line.
  12. The goal is to equal or exceed the per watt performance of the SA line while also increasing power handling... with the great success of the SA series it is a bit trick to do but I think the next iteration samples should be what I need to make that happen. 12s will come first as with the SA line... then most likely 15s after that.
  13. Also... will get a magnet boot before production. Have to tool another one for this size magnet so the prototype doesn't have it.
  14. As previously discussed I'm working on a 1000-watt line -- I've had motor samples for some time... now I have full samples with production equivalent soft parts on the way. As of now I still have work to do in order to dial the specs in just right -- I have another coil / gap variation to test with. I am getting a pair of samples as they sit in to test with the soft parts then I'll be testing the last variation... then likely will be ready to start making 12s at that time. Cosmetically looks nearly identical to the SA-12 with the exception of a 20mm wider magnet, a different spider for the 3" coil, and double tinsel leads. You will note it has the new ventilation / spacer ring on it too. This line will fill the gap from the SA series to the Z series very nicely As you may have guessed by the name... this line will eventually feature a frame similar to our X-8 once all the sizes are tooled up. For now it will utilize the 4-spoke like the SA series.
  15. Very close to sold out so I am ending the pre-order on these now to leave room in case any were damaged in shipping to us.
  16. 250 fuse is fine -- solid plan.
  17. It will if it's not in a high vibration area -- that the tie was broken tells me it was in one before -- the tie holds the transformer to the board. The silicone does too, though, so as long as it is intact you should be okay.
  18. Will be back in the office tomorrow!
  19. We are closing both Thursday and Friday for the Thanksgiving Holiday. Happy Thanksgiving to everyone -- if you are traveling be safe and have a good time with your families.
  20. 19mm one-way linear Yes
  21. The total (net) volume is going to be quite big with a small and low-tuned SA-8 box typically, yes. It is a HUGE difference from 30 to 35 Hz as well 30 Hz = 3" x 24" port 35 Hz = 3" x 17" port For that matter... a 3" port is bordering on too small for the SA-8 if you listen at high volumes -- so if you go to build a larger 16 in^2 slot port you have a length of 56" for 30 Hz / 40" for 35 Hz -- now think about how much actual space a port that big will occupy. I typically don't suggest tuning under 35 Hz in-vehicle for this reason... you are talking alot more port in a SMALL box.
  22. Yes, we did this -- but it takes 90 days to get our product so it hasn't caught up yet Shipments in December = 100% more inventory than we had 3 months ago well, I hope to make a new order in December-January having products available Good news Also working to start next production runs already even before these arrive -- it is very amazing how much demand is increasing.
