  1. Yep - 3" coil. --- Before we move you to the v.2 motor, Gary, I think I need to finish the SPL coil version
  2. The go boom... like so.
  3. We should be ready to start building and shipping next week.
  4. After numerous death threats (JK) I decided to stay late and post some pictures *laughs* Here you go guys : This particular one is about to be built for Brandon's truck.
  5. The best part is the 1 ohm testing -- it really blows the SAZ-1000D out of the water there. I can't find my sheet with the exact figures on this exact test bench setup but it's is around 50% more powerful with a rise to 2 ohms than the SAZ-1000D was. The difference is closer to the expected 20% when dropped down lower but we concentrated on making more usable power at a real load for the daily customer and it delivers.
  6. Two Stinger SPV-70 Batteries / 40-amp Power Supply / 8 awg wire power and Ground (this amp should have 4 awg) Wired to 1 ohm nominal : 1170 Watts @ 12.5 volts 1.97 ohms after impedance rise Wired to 0.5 ohm nominal : 1490 Watts @ 11.1 volts 0.85 ohms after impedance rise --- Measured with my Extech True RMS power clamp meter several seconds into the tone @ 60 Hz -- this typically reads about ~15-16% less than a "dual peak hold" amp clamp test. We'll do some more testing with a more adequate power wire coming up soon. The test bench 4 awg has the ends tinned so is a bit too big to go into the SAX-1200D terminals -- will need to get it in a vehicle.
  7. Amps are here - starting to ship them. Should be done w/ pre-ordered amps by Friday as expected.
  8. Will post when truck arrives - should be today according to all information I have as of now.
  9. Alex was going to be up here last night but ended up not being able to make it but he did take a picture of the meter : He said he'll work on getting a video too - and maybe we can figure out another time for him to come up to the shop to take some videos at Sundown HQ
  10. Called my shipping company and they say I should have my pallets on Tuesday -- would be sooner but Holiday closings are delaying it a bit. So... we'll be shipping as many amps as we can next week, hope to have pre-orders cleared out by Friday next week.
  11. No, they will not -- 18.5 is where the circuit is set and tolerance can vary 0.3 volts either way. 1500s, 2000s, 2500s, and 3500s will handle a higher voltage.
  12. $775 is the regular price.
  13. Pre-ordering closed. Depending on how fast the truck is I will have these somewhere between this Friday and next Wednesday.

  15. Yah, Mark got in touch with me and the subs were re-directed.
  16. 0.25 tuned to 60 or so... would net a huge amount of output in the lower midbass 50-100 Hz. Would actually have to purposely EQ them down for a flat response - but most folks like huge midbass output especially when pairing to big woofers.
  17. Knowing Nick and the IA crew I doubt they lost any motor force with the new design. There are ways to make up for any cutting that was done, and I'm sure they took all that into account.
  18. For mid-bass duty you would be fined sealed or IB on them. If you did port them for midbass tuned high it would be sick.
  19. As long as you don't expect output above 200-250 Hz they would work okay as midbass. I think my distributor told me someone is doing it in Russia and they love it.
  20. I wonder if Steve @ Fi / AA knows Mike @ Sundown Audio... I heard that Mike owns Sundown (no really, I heard that).
  21. Working on it guys... have done 100+ emails today so far. Should be caught up again in a few more days. Thanks for the patience.
  22. Oh yah... drop-ins are $30 + SH... so they are quite affordable. Highly suggest CA glue under the spider and then a bead of epoxy around it like so : Tutorial: How to strengthen spider landing glue on SA-8 - SSA Car Audio Forum These little things do have a high motor force and lots of throw so the spider landing glue takes a beating.
