Built a pair of drop-ins for a customer so I took a few shots. Yes... we stock parts even for our 2" coil drivers - I can't stand to see sub motors get thrown away (hang on E8 v.1 guys... working on updated parts for those). * Top triple joint action - we assemble these ourselves so it's all done with heavy duty CA glue like the Z v.2 and Nightshades. * Side view. Surround is a little bowed from sitting in it's shipping box, the cone is straight no problem * Rear triple joint support ring in place like the bigger SA woofers. * Your SA-8 make a ticking sound at high excursion? Guess what ? It moved about 28mm rearward and your triple joint ring hit the top plate. Needless to say the spider allows alot of travel and it's backed by a really strong motor... so be careful!

The input circuits are different - I'd have to look into it farther for a more detailed explanation. You are asking for trouble putting DC into the amp like that, though, even if it plays fine... definitely get that taken care of.

With 6v DC going into the RCAs it's NOT going to be happy. LOCs typically contain capacitors in series which should stop the DC (otherwise known as a passive HPF filter).

I've talked to him alot about this setup... putting the rear deck back in, metal and all (it bolts in an out), has only a few tenths effect on the score so this is a REAL trunk build. It has done as much as 153.1 dB to date -- on the dash. And 152s at the head-rest... in the 40-44 Hz region. Scores done with seats locked in the upright position. SAZ-4500D is wired to 1 ohm. I'll get him to send me some pictures of the scores when his internet is back up -- and videos too. They are stock SA-12s straight out of the factory box. No modifications to them.

The 12-spoke was a better choice for the 8.

Some of them are 12s -- but yes, they are double boxed with custom tooled protective foam inside.

That is the thing - 10s, 12s, D2s, D4s are all mixed together... hence why we aren't going to sort through and try to do it all in order -- would take twice as long. We test them like this : Every one of them.

Shipment is here. We'll start shipping some of the orders today after lunch... not necessarily in the order they were received as customs mixed up our pallets like crazy... so we are going to go one pallet at a time, test the subs, and ship to whomever comes first ordering that particular size / coil configuration.

It's a shorting ring - you want it for an SQ woofer as it will decrease inductive distortion.

The ETA for the v.2 was about 2 months ago - they are late... hope to have them soon.

I won't have parts until the E8 v.2 comes out - those parts are compatible.
