Make the front port longer if you can -- what does the port look like now ?

Been catching up a bit then I'll post em.

Few possibilities : 1) Could have had a tiny crack that you didn't notice initially - if one leg cracks the others are soon to follow. 2) The box may be flexing quite a bit which can eventually break a frame. 3) If the screws come loose then the sub jumping around a bit can crack the frame. Or any combination of those. In any event shoot me an email - [email protected] Do you have all original packing materials ?

Did you get it new or used ? The frames don't just break for no reason -- it may have had a small hairline crack in it initially and just broke with time.

Was it cracked when you got it ?

We are working on 12x 15s for a customer build... few teaser shots -- more as it progresses. These are being customized with chrome 4-spoke frames. Standard build otherwise with 2 spiders, single leads, and standard cone -- most efficient setup for this application.

Box suggestions : VENTED : 1.25 - 1.5 cubic feet tuned to 30 - 35 Hz Yields F3 in the mid to high 20s SEALED : 0.55 cubes for 0.707 Qtc alignment Yields F3 of 50 Hz -- this works great in-car for a flat response after transfer function You can use a bit smaller or larger if you like

Derrick usually goes 9 Hz under tuning. My Jeep acts differently depending on box, though... my dual 8" SPL box was tuned above resonant peak to be the loudest. I think that had more to do with port phase than tuning, though, as it was subs forward / port back.

At 2.67 ohms you won't need anything more than the good alt and yellow top.

Install + a woofer that doesn't break If there were any weaknesses in the driver this sort of thing would expose them quickly. Which is why we do it .
