  1. I think the Nightshade v.2 will work very well here As for amplifier bigger than the SAZ-4500D... I don't expect anything like that in the next year.
  2. My favorite aspect is that the size is barely increased... by going to the IRFP360LC output stage alot of room was saved vs. the IRF640 / 9640 design from the SAZ-2000D. The output section = the SAZ-3000D in this amp, actually... so it's quite overbuilt.
  3. Already happening... Z v.2 and NS v.2 are coming out -- need to handle that first Right, I read somewhere that you wanted to design a 1000rms sub and like a 300rms sub. 1000 and 400 respectively. Working on those projects too.
  4. Why ? Still a good amp and still under warranty. I don't see any issue.
  5. Already happening... Z v.2 and NS v.2 are coming out -- need to handle that first
  6. I am going to make the official announcement now that we are sold out of new SAZ-2000Ds -- yes, I am in fact sold out... a few used ones remain but that is it. To replace it I am developing an SAZ-2500D model. This is a new board tooling for Sundown and is ours in the USA exclusively just like the SAZ-3500D. Just a HAIR larger than the SAZ-2000D and over 500 watts more power is expected from it. I am excited about it -- more details will be available once I have the prototype in hand. This evens out the amp line to 1500, 2500, 3500, and 4500 so there is not such a large gap from the 2000 to the 3500. It is too early for ETAs or pricing... but I will do a pre-order once testing is completely. Same build house as the SAZ amps now - just a new tooling ! I'll post new updates as they are available in this thread.
  7. 10s, 12s, 15s, and 18s will be available.
  8. Got up to 149.9 dB with 1420 watts (less than rated RMS).
  9. So far I've used 4000-watts clamped on it -- 153.0 dB score. In my particular box 2 spiders would be louder -- but I think that is pretty good for the stock setup
  10. Prices are the same. Decals are separate -- Derrick is the best source for sundown decals.
  11. Built one yesterday almost full production specifications -- only difference to production is a small change to the coil (those coils are not in stock yet -- they are the last part I need). Specifications : RE: 1.9 ohms (D1 in series) FS: 42.2 Hz (5 minute break-in) Qes: 0.480 Qms: 4.024 Qts: 0.429 Le: 0.980 mH Vas: 49.725 L BL: 16.238 NA Mms: 251.09 g Cms: 56.48 uM/N Sens: 90.76 1w/1m Sens: 97.00 2.83v/1m FS will drop along with Qts as Cms increases with break-in. * Light weight cone with narrow / tall surround (standard) -- the Nightshade cone can be used for ULTRA high power applications * Single lead spiders (standard) -- double lead are optional
  12. New cone sample made it today... perfect So... expect this to open in the next few days.
  13. I won't be able to make this one -- it is my son's birthday. Hope it goes well, though !
  14. If I get something back in the Jeep by then I'll try to make it !
  15. Awesome
  16. Not planning on it in the near future. Market is too small... two 4500s and there ya go
  17. The prices are shipped -- so send $396 total. An SAZ-1500D is plenty of power.
  18. Just waiting on new cone sample to start pre-order on the 10s
  19. February 22nd will be the LAST DAY to pre-order... as I expect delivery somewhere around then.
  20. I can check out the amp for you if you cannot resolve it.
  21. New or old model?
