Include some bracing and you're even a little smaller and tuned a little higher...no thanks. ok I just tuned it to about 31hz with a 13.5" 4" port (i'm gonna raise the tuning up some i didnt glue the whole port together yet) the box is about ready just waitin on my sub :'( I'd just cut down on box volume some since you're already a little big with just the sub and a 4" aero taking up space in there(this will also raise tuning a little). What kind of power are you using? Right now you're looking at 2.25ft^3 not including any bracing you may be using. Dropping volume down to 2ft^3 will up the tuning to 33hz.

I'd take the dual 10's.

Tell him to go to Car Toys and see what they'd charge.

A 4" aero will work fine. Those flares really cut down on port noise. Sure, a 6" aero would give you more output, but you really don't have the volume to do a 6" port and not end up with a high tuning.

3-3.5ft^3 with a 30-32hz tuning and 45-55in^2 of port area. The port is going to need to be long, but you need that large port area with such a capable woofer.

By being able to find dozens of past install on the forums and reading what other owners have said works well. It's a lot different than just guessing on some sort of hybrid woofer than you, or probably anyone else on here, has had any experience with. Irrelevant in this case. Anyone can say "throw them in 7ft^3 with a 35hz tuning and use 120in^2 of port", but it really means nothing when you don't know anything about the subs in question, sorry.

That's kind of an overstatement; they don't change that much at all. Fs will drop a few hz, qts will be a little lower, and Vas will rise slightly. They are by no means a big change though.

Not really, alot of woofers T/S specs are wrong, and others don't even offer T/S specs. Are you saying that makes it easier? For all we know he's got some good sealed subs on his hands(or very peaky ported ones).

Hard to make a box suggestion without knowing any t/s for the subs in question.

I bought a pair of 3515D's direct from DD like an idiot...this was about 5 years ago, paid $840 for the pair. I know the 3515's nowadays run around $500 with zero options.

Nice. I saw the first pic of the window bracing and was going to suggest bringing them further away from the interior port opening...looks like you did that on your own.

Not shitty plywood Even the 5-layer stuff for cheap at Home Depot is more rigid than MDF. Just barely lean MDF against a wall and it'll sag/warp in no time.

You could also just put a couple of window braces on each side of the port, going from the port to the side. That'll brace the top/bottom/sides.

No reason to blow up on anyone. Either you have something wrong, or the amp is bad. Either way, find out the issue and contact AQ if something really is wrong. Now if they tell you to screw off then you have something to blow up about. Things fail, it happens. No matter how good the amp is there are bound to be a few duds for whatever reason.

A 36hz tuning is going to give you a big peak with the Dcon. Drop tuning to 30hz for a smoother response.

Also, plywood is more rigid than MDF, so it'll naturally flex less.

This. Proper bracing and it won't flex at all.

I'd double up all around.

What will your setup consist of? That will determine whether or not you really need to double-up.

4ft^3 tuned to 30-32hz with about 60in^2 of port will work well. But box volume is going to be over 5ft^3 when it's all said and done.
