  2. This 4th order bandpass will be going in the bed of a 2008 single cab Chevy. Inside will be two of the new model Orion HCCA 15's. Each sealed chamber is 2.25ft^3 with a common 10ft^3 ported chamber tuned to 46hz. As you can see, there is a removable panel at the top of the box to access the subs, and the port is removable as well so that tunings and port size can be altered to custom tune the box.

  4. 36"x18"x23" = 7.08ft^3 before sub and port displacements You don't have anywhere near enough room for a pair of 15's. Four 10's would work much better in that space.

    This box will be housing four(4) Skar Audio VVX-15 subs, and will be going in an Explorer with no rear seats. Since the customer will be using a fair amount of power, we decided to reduce the box size to 2.75ft^3 per sub in order to control the woofers better and put the extra power to use. The box is double layered all around, and a 3/4" round-over is applied to the port opening. Chamber Volume: 11ft^3 Tuning: 30hz Dimensions: 41" wide x 20" tall x 48" deep
  7. Can you explain to me how(with a 1.25ft^3 box and a 33hz tuning) you plan on getting a 54-64" long port in there? Even in a 1.5ft^3 box and a 35hz tuning you're looking at 40-47" of port length.
  8. Same way that a 4" works fine for most 12" subs, and a single 6" for most 15" subs. As far as noise goes, you'd be surprised how little port area you can use when running an aeroport. Most people run way more port than they really need to these days. I'm not saying a 3" aero is optimal or the best way to go...just saying that it'll do the job. I'd personally run a 4" port if I could.

  10. agreed, but i think he is limited in space in the boat though... Didn't he have a pair of SA-10's though? Maybe they were in separate locations that are limited on space.

  12. I don't think you'll notice any issues with the 3" aero, but bump it up to 1.5ft^3 and a full length 4" aero to get a 34hz tuning and you'll notice a difference in output.

  14. I grabbed a chrome one for $50 shipped on ebay. Dude put it up with the $50 BIN price, I grabbed it a couple hours after it was put up. It's rough, but for $50 you can't beat it.

  16. I've been looking for a chrome 2150, 2200, and 2300 for a while now...I have the 2075, two 2100's, and a 4050 in chrome. I'm wanting to get the whole series.
  17. This box design was done for Joshua Longfellow and his pair of DC Level 5 15's. Tons of low-end bass was the goal, so what better way to do that than with a high ratio low tuned box? The sealed chamber is 3.5ft^3, and the ported section is 12ft^3 with tunings ranging from 33hz, 38hz, 43hz, and 52hz for spl burps. Alternate bracing methods and placement has been discussed, I thus threw a couple 2x2's in there for visual effect.
  18. Another design for Tyler Kelley, this one being for a pair of 15" Fi BTL N2's. The box is 9ft^3 with a 33hz tuning via a healthy 37"x4" port. This will be going in a 2008 Malibu.

  21. It's a '72. I do love the '66-'67 though, and had a '70 with a SB400 for a little while...it was a POS besides the motor.
  22. This is a design for one of my favorite cars of all time, the Chevelle SS. Final volume is 2.5ft^3 with a 32hz tuning via a 12"x2.5" port. As you can see I had to create a little dead space on each side of the port to kick the volume down a little. The original plan was to do a bandpass, but there just wasn't enough room.
  23. Just be sure that you end up with your desired net volume after taking all displacements into consideration.
  24. The customer wanted lots of output from 25-45hz, so a low tuned bandpass was in order. The subs being used are DC Audio Level 5 15's, going in a 1995 Explorer. Volume: 3ft^3 sealed, 8.5ft^3 ported Tuning: 40hz Dimensions: 43" wide x 20" tall x 40" deep
  25. That will be a very efficient box, I approve! I agree with the air space though since the XL's can take a crap load of power.
