1 amp per solo x, which would be better???
do u think 2 of those kinetic 180's would be enough?? Yes I do think they would be enough, but more is always better i think a 220 amp alt. with 2 kinetic 1800's should be more than enough to run 2500-3000 watts lol. i think

1 amp per solo x, which would be better???
there asking 500 which is a tad over my max spending. even at 450, its a little much for me. and i wont be purchasing a amp for atleast another month if not longer. I highly suggest saving your money until you can buy something worthwhile. Remember, you get what you pay for. $400 for 3k is hard to find unless you come across a killer deal in the Classifieds. ya. thats where i got the x's from. there are some hella good deals on there. my buddy might get this kicker zx1000 in a trade deal and he said he would sell it to me for $130 and its the newest version out so if that happens, ill just find another one. the do like 1400 watts so i think that should be good for each solo x. it all depends on what goes on with his stuff.

1 amp per solo x, which would be better???
ya. id LOVE to get a kicker zx2500.1 BUT there not stable at 1 ohm which really pisses me off lol. i have seen in multipul forums where people run them @1ohm and never had problems but id rather not take the chances of it blowing

1 amp per solo x, which would be better???
well if i go with 1 big amp, it has to be 1 ohm stable, if i go with 2 seperate amps, they have to have max output at 2 ohms. my subs are dual 1's so each one seperatly can be wired at either .5 or 2 ohms......

1 amp per solo x, which would be better???
hey guys, i have been thinking. right now im stuck on which amps to use on these solo x's. its between 2 kicker kx 1200.1's (i can get some decent deals on) or i just found the soundstream rubicon series 1600 watts amp (id get 2, 1 for each sub) there rated 40Ax4 which is 160A for $220 new with warrenty. iv been doing research and they do right at rated power. so what do u think. im stuck here HELP!!!! if anyone knows of some other good rated power amps (around 450 for 1 or 225 for 1(id buy 2) let me know. ps, im ordering my 220 amp alt. here soon and 2 optima yellow tops so power is no issue here. here is a link to the soundstream http://www.amazon.com/Soundstream-RUB1-1600D-1600-Watt-Amplifier/dp/tech-data/B003ANRFA2/ref=de_a_smtd as for the kx's, id buy used. they do 1400+ watts. i used to have on on a 2010 kicker cvx 15 and it beat the hell out of the sub. so 1400+ watts per solo x should be good. im just doing some thinking..

\dual 1's just a guess. and the other boxes i built at 32hz sounded good. i love the lowes;) haha Let's build something together? and hows that gonna work? haha

tuning for solo x 10's
not sure how to calcualte it. i was going to do a 3" wide port that 17.67"'s long and that makes it tuned at 32hz. i cant go any bigger than 3"'s wide or i wont have enough room for the sub. it will be hitting the back port wall. even at 3"'s, it only leaves like a little over a inch between the back of the sub, and port wall.....

1 L7 15" vs. 2 MTX 9510-4.
I think your right. The L7 isn't mine though. Also the mtx is in a 5cf box. 5 cf for both or a piece? lol . the mtx 9500 is a very durable subwoofer. i loved mine. if i had enough power to actually use them the right way, i would have kept them.

tuning for solo x 10's
seems like a realllly small port, might wanna go with aero ports to save volume i was highly considering it, BUT i know absolutly nothing about aero ports. i dont know how to calculate how big they need to be or anything. thats y i chose slot port over aero.

1 L7 15" vs. 2 MTX 9510-4.
i went from 2 15" l7's to 2 12" mtx 9500 12's in there recommended ported boxes on a kicker zx1500.1 and the mtx's i found were better all around. they had ALOT better sq and got damn loud. id take the mtx's

tuning for solo x 10's
i got on the12volt.com and they have calculaters for ports with tuning, and sub box airspace. did u have to pay for WinISD? im not really sure what it is? id love to draw this up in 3D but im not very good with drafting lol.
-
tuning for solo x 10's
well i have been doing some thinking and calculations, and i am highly considering just doing 1 big box for both where they would shard the same airspace with 1 big port. if i used all my max dimensions, i came up with 6.418CF before port displacement. but with 1 3"wide port, id have to have 17.67" of port length to achieve 32Hz. after port displacement, i would get 5.995 for the subs to share so roughly 2.97CF for each sub. kicker calls a minimum of 2.25 for 1 so this should work right? update. one more ?, my port wall #1 would be 9.50" deep and the subs mounting depth is 8 3/8 so is it ok to mount a sub that close to the back wall? theres a little more than 1 in between the back of the sub, and the back port wall

ya i LOVE lows lol

tuning for solo x 10's
kicker calls for 2.25-6.0 lol for 1 10
-
tuning for solo x 10's
one more thing. does in matter where i mount the sub? i mean like does it have to be centered on the front or can i move it left or right? im doing a L-shaped port

tuning for solo x 10's
ya but that would be a waist of wood and money lol. when i built the 2 boxes for my mtx 9500's, i used mtx's recommendations and they had it tuned WAYYY to high. it was like 45 or something. anyways, i took a piece of mdf, and stuck it in the box and extended the port inside by like 3 or 4 inches to make the tuning lower which worked, but it looked wack as hell when u looked inside the box. but sounded great lol. ill just start out the tuning at 32hz and hopefully it wont be to low or im fucked. but if its still to high, i can fix it lol.
