  1. I feel you chuck. I had a bunch of overtime mostly due to my 24hr long work day I had. Left my house at 630 pm Wed and got home 635 pm Thurs lol. I nearly doubled my gross pay but only brought home 25 percent more.
  2. 4 gauge will be fine but I would go ahead and do 0 gauge. It really isnt that much more and will allow future upgrades more than 4 will. Or you could do it twice like I did lol. Also cca will be fine. And id much rather have a diehard platinum over any optima.
  3. Oh! On another note. Finally finished building my new saw. I know you get what you pay for, but I had no idea the difference. The build quality alone blows it away. The fence is fantastic. The blade height and bevel is all precise, smooth and metal gear driven. The best part is how smooth it cuts and how quiet it is. That is what surprised me the most. Seriously, its about as loud as an electric toothbrush. My Craftsman sounded more like texas chainsaw massacre. If anyone is serious about building, I would highly recommend buying a nice saw. I was a little apprehensive about spending $600 on a saw thinking my $200 Craftsman would be more than enough. It does the job, or it did until it started falling apart, but there is no comparison to a real saw.
  4. Lol that's a weird way to ship a motor. I thought maybe you got some beer.
  5. Nevermind. I just noticed you said sealed enclosure.
  6. Congrats Lee! Too bad about the 1100. I would have thought you just got the rca cables mixed up or something. I'm sure they will get it fixed up for you.
  7. I think both would be great. The Q you can get configured specifically for using in a sealed enclosure which may benefit you. But it would hurt resale value down the road and if you decided to go ported later it wouldn't be as well matched. Just something to think about.
  8. Yeah that's what I meant. On the amp itself. In the vid it looked like you just reached down and turned it up. I thought hey that's cool and a lot nicer than turning a tiny pot with a screwdriver.
  9. Nice! Does your amp have a knob for the gain? I wish more were like that. I hate turning tiny pots with tiny screwdrivers especially when your amp controls are in a tiny spot lol.
  10. Thanks and Merry Christmas to you and your family brother. Hard to believe another year has come and nearly gone. It seems the older you get the faster it goes.
  11. What amp did you have and any idea what caused it to blow? I would suggest Diehard platinum or a deka intimidator. I always get as big of a battery as I can fit.
  12. I like your videos. Not sure if you are using the GoPro mic or doing a voice over but on the last couple videos I could barely hear anything. Also, what speed to you use for the plexi to keep it from melting? I tired it on mine and even with light pressure it wanted to melt.
  13. Maybe I'm a little confused. Is your actual brake lights coming on or the brake light on your dash?
  14. I agree with what you said but I think its more of people thinking the only way to have tight bass is to go sealed because ported is muddy and inaccurate. Which of course it is a lot easier to screw up a design using ported. As far as space I read it as it wasn't a concern as much. He said he was kinda limited but shouldn't be an issue fitting what he wants. Maybe I took that wrong. But either way listening to a lot of bass heavy music I think ported would be the way to go if he could fit a proper enclosure.
  15. You can try to top off the reservoir. Usually if it is low enough to trip the low fluid sensor it will also do it taking hard corners or heavy braking. I don't know what kind of bs someone is feeding you about brake pad thickness and fluid level. There should be a line on the side to show you where it should be filled to. May also need to bleed the brakes. Sometimes the abs can trap some air. I wouldn't bother with that until you replace the pads though. And for the love of all that is holy don't buy pads from a parts store or especially a brake shop. I would get some Hawk, Porterfield or EBC green/red. They are more money but if you ever feel real brakes you would never buy anything else again. I can help you put them on some weekend if you want.
  16. I have a q18 in a 8 cube ported box and it is crisp and tight not boomy and muddy. It is all about design and install. I don't know why people still believe sealed is crisp and ported is muddy. Most of the time a properly designed port box wins especially on output.
  17. There is no such thing as under powering a sub. Also you aren't going to notice a difference in 1000 and 1500 watts. That being said I always like to have a little headroom rather than trying to squeeze power out of a smaller one.
  18. Things are about to get serious. Sure beats my Craftsman being held together with zipties, shoestrings, and hopes (not kidding lol) Michael and the dog are getting ready to help me put it together now.
  19. 10's really do not require much more space than an 8. You would have more output with the additional cone area with little expense of volume between the 2.
  20. At Home Depot they sell the copper screw down terminals that you can use to terminate 2 1/0 wires in a single terminal. Not sure if they make it for 2/0 but that would work if you wanted to run dual inputs off a single terminal.
  21. Sucks Steve. Maybe you'll receive them as a Christmas present. I bought a kickass router not long ago. I can make you an adapter plate to mount either a pair of 6x9s or a single SA8. I have both laying around. Or you can get real froggy and mount all 3. You might just get the 60 you are looking for lol.
  22. Are you talking about RE calculator? http://www.reaudio.com/box.php It isn't super accurate but it's ballpark. I'd rather use Torres box calculator. It's a free download. There is also WinISD which is a free modeling download as well.
  23. Looks great swift! Anxious to see the results. Did you manage to fit all the batteries under the floor or are they going in the tool box?
  24. Welcome. You have a Hypex 700? And you are going to use that to power 2 sa-8s? Then use it for a pc? That just seems odd to run a $4000 amp for what you are doing. Either way, if you want someone to help design an enclosure you will need to post what dimensions you have to work with.
  25. Holy shit dude. Glad you are ok. I haven't checked your thread in a while and was looking at the batts. I read "yeah they aren't going anywhere unless I flip the car" then I see these pics. Did anything float around on the inside? What crappy luck. First you lose your job then your car. Atleast you walked away.
