New Car, New Stuff, Have A Few Questions
Looks nice, but a bit more then I wanted to spend, and I dont need the 8 outputs or aux in. How about this one, 6 channels would be perfect, and seems to have good reviews. http://www.sonicelectronix.com/item_6359_AudioControl-LC6i-Gray-LC6.html So Im guessing I cut in to the factory harness, and run the speaker wires to it, then my RCAs from it to the amps and its good to go? Also, the factory HU is very nice. I believe its Pioneer made, and has delayed time alignment, 7 or 9 way EQ (I forget which, might even be more then that), distance settings and car type, etc...

New Car, New Stuff, Have A Few Questions
Looks like I take delivery tomorrow. Can someone suggest something for using multiple amps off the stock HU?

New Car, New Stuff, Have A Few Questions
Let me start by saying congrats on the new car! If I were you I would keep the havoc and amps, and possibly build a new box made of birch(to save on weight). As far as the rest goes if you post a budget we can help you choose a nice front stage. I already have the CCX65s and really like them. I was going to get the PA mids since they are cheap and should add a bit more mid bass as well, but thats just a maybe right now. Current budget is, work with what Ive got, and limited for getting what I need to make it work. At least untill I sell the HU I was using, and probably the RE and the 4.80. If I can get what I need to make the stock HU work for under $50 then great. If I need up to $100 to get something better, then fine. Anything more then that will have to wait a month, but Ill gladly do it. Like I said, Id like to do it once the right way, and be happy with it.

New Car, New Stuff, Have A Few Questions
Im picking up a new 2012 Subaru Impreza Sport Limited hatcback tomorrow or Thursday. Getting it loaded with nav, so I dont want to swap out the HU. Never did any audio stuff with a stock HU, so not sure what I should get. Do I get line out converters, or 3way crossover? I was looking at the Lanzar Vibe X6, for $35. Wondering if its cheap for a reason. Im going to be swapping out the front speakers with Crescendo CCX65s, filling in the rear with Crescendo Pro Audio mids, and want to put my Havoc 12 in the back. I have a MBQuart ONX 4.80 and 1500.1D (plan to get the new Crescendo 1100C4 at some point). Might also run XST2 super tweeters as well if they will fit in the dash. First up, not sure what I need or should get to hook it all up. Also, aside from Big3 and HC600, not sure if the stock electrical could take it all. I dont know what the stock alt is rated for, and cant seem to find it anywhere online since the car is too new. Im thinking I may resort to just running the CCX65s and the sub, with the 1100C4 (bridged rear channels for sub, would be way under powered though). The box I have for the Havoc I built, and is 2.25cu ft ~30hz. Sounds and works great, but is huge and heavy (double baffle and double back for mounting amps to it without putting holes in the internal part of it). In the Altima I had it in, within 7 months or so, the weight destroyed the rear tires (back of car was a good 1.5-2in lower). The Subaru is a hatchback, and it should sit more over the rear springs rather then way back in a trunk. Should I be worried about it at all and build a new lighter box? Also was giving thought to a single weaker but more efficient 10, or two 8s. I also have a RE SR12 in a sealed box thats not too bad, but no where near the output of the Havoc. Have a chance to start from scratch, and want to do it right once. Any tips would help.

RF or RE??
Dont know anything about the RF and never heard one. However, I have a 12in RE SRx, and its one hell of a sub for the price (I got mine for $60). I had it in 2.25cu at 31Hz, and gave it 400-500w daily. Got plenty loud and has great SQ.

Help Picking A Component Set
Crescendo finally got some more mids in I guess, so they are sending me another set to go through everything to see whats bad and send the rest back to them.

Help Picking A Component Set
I read a few different ones, some had decent installs and power and some didnt. Some said they have good midbass and others dont, so I guess its really not anything to go on. The Cadance CWM-6KIT seems to be agreed on that they have good midbass, and a bit better mid range then RSDs, but slightly harsh tweeters. Though Ive seen many crossovers burn up, but from people using too low of a HPF or too much power. So Im thinking about those since they are only $60, if they last long enough for the new Crescendos to come out, Id be happy with that. Was also looking at the Lanzar Optidrive 6.1s, just the Lanzar name scares me. Denim, I got one of the last sets of Bstock CCX65s back in March. One of the mids gets really crackly with anything over 15-20w, and the tweeters are a bit staticky. The crossovers have something rattling in them. Since they were the last ones, they didnt have replacements, so Ive been waiting on the CZs, but they keep getting delayed. So Im just going to get something else for now.

Help Picking A Component Set
Ive narrowed it down to a few sets. The Infinitys seem to have decent woofers, but from the reviews high pitched tweeters, so passing on those. First off, anyone know if the Almani S7s are good? I could bridge my amp (and keep the gains down) to power them fully. Silk tweeters, $78 shipped http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ALMANI-S7-720W-6-5-CAR-STEREO-COMPONENT-SPEAKER-SYSTEM-_W0QQcmdZViewItemQQhashZitem3369c0ed8eQQitemZ220817583502QQptZCarQ5fAudioQ5fVideo Then the Cadence CWM-6Kit silk tweeters, $60 shipped http://cgi.ebay.com/CADENCE-CWM6KIT-6-5-200-WATT-COMPONENT-SPEAKER-KIT-/390326890071?pt=Car_Speakers&hash=item5ae14bae57 MB Quart ONX 216, titanium tweeters though, $80 shipped http://cgi.ebay.com/MB-QUART-ONX216-6-5-CAR-AUDIO-COMPONENT-SPEAKERS-/290582790530?pt=Car_Speakers&hash=item43a8158182 Alpine Type S, silk tweeters, $80 shipped http://cgi.ebay.com/ALPINE-SPS-610C-6-5-2-Way-Component-Car-Speakers-NEW-/290584045968?pt=Car_Speakers&hash=item43a828a990 Alpine Type G, silk tweeters, $105 shipped http://cgi.ebay.com/ALPINE-SPG-17CS-6-5-2-Way-Component-Car-Speakers-NEW-/290583168077?pt=Car_Speakers&hash=item43a81b444d And lastly, Pioneer TS-D1720C. Leaning towards these since they are 60rms and Ive heard Pioneers are efficient. Also 6.75in instead of 6.5s, and has crossovers that looks the same as the crescendo kit I have, which will fit perfectly behind the door panel. Not sure how the tweeters are though. $110 shipped http://cgi.ebay.com/PIONEER-TS-D1720C-6-3-4-2-WAY-COMPONENT-SPEAKERS-6-1-2-/360381853280?pt=Car_Speakers&hash=item53e86eae60 EDIT: Read a few user reviews, and it seems the Pioneers have no mid bass and are too bright.

Help Picking A Component Set
The problem with that is the only things around here are Bestbuy and walmart. The little car audio shops have the same Pioneer/Alpine/Kicker stuff that they do. They probably have the Infinitys though, but thats probably about it. I like my Crescendos, but they are defective and the CZ65s arent due for a while. Ive tried waiting for 6 months now, and they still arent in sight.

Help Picking A Component Set
Need a new efficient comp set. Doors are well sound deadend, and have about 65rms @ 4ohm or 130rms @ 2ohm to work with (I dont like to run my amps at full power, especially in this heat). Looking for a as much midbass as I can get (resonably), and very dull tweeters. I cant stand high pitched sounding tweets, I have my Crescendos on -3DB and the HU's 5th band set to -5DB to get them right for me. For budget, Im looking for the best bang for the buck. $80-100 or less would be ideal, though I can do about $150-160 at most. I was thinking of trying Infinity since they are 2ohm and will get me a bit more power. The Refrence 6030CS or Kappa 60.9CS. Was also considering a set of cheap Cadence CWM-6Kit since they are just $60. The ID CTX65CS, and Alpine Type Rs at $160 is at the top end of my budget. Also, Im not much of an EQ tweaker, I just leave the EQ flat (except the 5th band if the highs are too pitchy). So a set that doesnt need any tweaking would be great.

ICON Stock?
Really trying to stick to $200-250 or less, or at least close to it. The RE SRx I have sounds great, just want something a bit louder without sacraficing much of the SQ. I have a 2.25cu ported box, at 31-32Hz with the 1.4cu displacement of the SRx. Box has an 11.15in sub cutout. Amp is an MB Quart Onyx 1500.

ICON Stock?
Dang, about how long? Seems like all the good sounding afordable 1k sub options arent available right now. Been waiting on the Sundown X12, but its going to be a while, so figured Id grab an Icon. Now thats out of the picture, whats left?

ICON Stock?
Wondering when Id be able to order an Icon 12 D2. Also, whats the difference between aluminum and copper? Looking for SQ.

SubSonic Filter
Whole point is to save space by running a smaller sub box and one amp. Thanks though. I think Im just going to keep my DSC-480 for now, since it has a SSF. 70 to my comps, 300 to the sub untill I want more or it dies.

SubSonic Filter
Sub out only has a LPF on my HU.

DCON 12 S4
If I put an order in for one today, am I looking at a week build time, or a month? Or do you not have any idea?

X 12 Questions
Whats the current build time for the X 12? Also, are they better sealed or ported? Looking for a good SQ setup that can get somewhat loud. How does the X compare to other subs in its class, like the DCON?

SubSonic Filter
I have a DSC-480 left from the setup I had. Was going to sell it too and just get a single amp to save space and money, and make it easier. Wouldnt really want to spend over $200, other wise Id just keep the DSC-480 and get a mono amp. I had two SA-10s and a ZRS-C65, but sold them to pocket a little bit of money and not take up as much room. Normally I wouldnt have even asked about the SSF, as I know its good to have. But I remembered when I had my RE SE 12, I didnt have a SSF on the amp, and it was ported, and never had any issues. The HPF on the Crescendo is 60Hz, so no way that will work as one. I also was looking at the Hifonics ZXI-150.4. No idea if it does rated or not, or if its a good or bad amp, but its about $200 shipped, same as the Crescendo. 150 x 4 @ 4 300 x 4 @ 2 600 x 2 @ 4 rated @ 14.4v 3x40 amp fuese, HPF 10hz-15khz 12db octave (can be used as subsonic filter, high enough to cross for active if I wanted to later on), LPF 30hz-150hz 12db octave

SubSonic Filter
I was going to get a DCON 12, ported around 30-32hz. I plan to run it off the bridged rear channels of a 4 channel amp. Was going to get the Crescendo 1000C4, but it doesnt have the option to use the HPF as a subsonic filter. Will it really be needed? I like to listen to Bass Mekanik and other artificial bass heavy stuff like that.

Need some help!!
Did you call Crescendo to order? They have been sold out for a while, I had to get a b-stock set. They are about to release their new improved ones. If you havent yet, you will need to properly sound deadened your doors. I went with SDS and the Crescendo comps and its night and day better then anything I had before.

Your Favorite show off Songs!
I like bass, but not rap. ES Posthumus has some pretty good bass notes.

First Time Sound Deadening
Got cold and starting snowing a bit here, so this is on hold untill it clears up. I sold my SA-10s, so I should have the trunk cleaned out over the weekend to get it done.

First set up sub suggestions
Youll probably need to upgrade your electrical a little bit, I have an 07 Altima with a 110amp alt, and had to do 1/0 Big 3 and a Kinetik HC600 to handle 1kw. I would vote for the SA, or to give AudioQue a shot. Im thinking of trying out AQ next.

DCON 12 S4
Whats the average build time, or are there any in stock? Im about to order a sub, but dont really want to wait 1.5 weeks to get it.
