Alright, got a custom box built for my SSA ICON 12"s ... question
That was not what I was actually meaning..but I can see how I wrote that per how it came out.

Wanted to point something out with the DCON Dia
I will make a note to ensure that the OD for the flush mounts are cut a tad large for easier fitment. Shouldn't be an issue but it could be the new carpet we switched to now.

PMed replied to. As for this enclosure...you would need to fix bracing and tuning to make it really work out..but the volume is a bit large for the port area and you may get port noise do to the design as well.

if you use 80grit paper you can sand it down quickly by hand. Even here we do not use anything but paper and our hands when this happens. I like to try and keep the circle as close to perfect as possible to ensure the seal. We normally cut a little bigger, and with the new setup for circle cutting they are 1/32 larger then the size we select to allow a little play..but we do not do a 1/16 because that can cause issues with customers and centering the sub some times. As for why the cutout works sometimes for them and others and other times they don't. It may have to do with how the frame is coated. Ever now and then it may be thicker on one then another.

The net volume is not horrible at around 4.3 port area is insanely small at 37.5 and the tuning seems to be around 28-29hz which unless you play a lot of bass CDs or screw/chopped music won't net a very good result overall. The port edges are not rounded and no bracing of any kind I would assume no 45 in the port. I would say a new enclosure needs to be built if you paid any type of decent money for that one.

How long is the port? Also no bracing or double baffle?

Do we take trades?
This question comes up very often. The answer is yes we do entertain trade items. We rarely do a 100% trade but it does happen from time to time. We do not except all trades, but we do try and work with most everyone that we can. If you have items for trade please feel free to send an email to [email protected] with information on your trade item(s) and please include what you are thinking for purchasing from us. Thanks Dustin

Best way to get quotes
Since we get so many messages on the forums, and they hard to keep track of we ask everyone that wishes to get a quote please go to our website http:www.dc-creations.com and click on purchase then select which ever options best suites what you want a quote for. Please fill out the form and submit it. If you are interested in a DIY kit please use the enclosure form and in the comment section please inform us that you would like to request a DIY quote. There is a section on there to select a forum and username or another way you found us. Please remember that the discounts for this forum on SSA enclosures will still apply but you must select this forum and input your user name to get that discount. Once the form has been filled out and submitted we will get you a quote via email as soon as we can. This typically takes 1-2 business days to respond. If you have already PMed about an enclosure I will be sifting though all of my messages in the next few days and getting back with everyone. I'm am very glad to offer our sevices on this forum, but yet again we underestimated the increasing amount of customers that this would bring in. Please bare with us as we transition into a new system that will work better for everyone involved not allow any slow or breaks in contact. Just to note, any quotes requested on the weekend(or after business hours on Friday) are typically answered the following Monday.

Email is currently down
Sorry for this inconvenience, however, I was informed that our email is currently down and may not be back up and running until later on this evening. We do have several quotes to send out, but are unable to do so until the email is back up and running. Even if it is late tonight when it is restored I will get those emails out to all that have submitted for quotes.

Single DCON 10, possibly changing a sealed box into a ported box quest
I agree, if you can increase the volume or at the least to an external port i would try that. Another issues is loading, but that shouldn't be to much of an issue with your vehicle.

PWK Designs
This is good advice for just about anyone who contacted a designer/builder. In many cases after some communications what you think is "the best for the sub" may not be the best for your application.
-
PWK Designs
PWK is a decent guy and does consider a wide array of various things when designing enclosures. A good designer will take all things he considers into account with their designs. If they are not then they are not looking to get the best of out the application. However, even when taking everything into consideration there is always a margin of error. There is absolutely no way to model up every application out there, this is true for every designer/builder though. Most designers do not take into account the acoustical properties of the vehicle itself as it is a very tedious and time consuming to do so.

My first install
Sorry for the horrible quality of the pictures. They were quickly taken with a cell phone.

My first install
Here are a couple pics that did get snapped of his enclosure. It was supposed to be shipped today, but won't be going out until tomorrow do to a few tool set backs. I will see I will get one of it with the double baffle and carpeted tomorrow before we package it up.

Beer.
If it helps him sell, we can consider this a sell from me. I have this in my possession at the shop right now. This also opens up payment options to allow paypal and/or credit card payments as I can just forward the remaining balance after shipping to him.

port tuning differences
4 door? If so you should have enough room to go a little large on the enclosure and tune lower which is what I would suggest in your situation. The acoustical gain/loss you get in the truck is very different in the blazer then almost any other SUV.
-
port tuning differences
Tuning the enclosure is only an "open room" tune. It will be completely different once inside your vehicle. Depending on the application a 34hz tuning will be just fine for daily and could get low as well. But again that is dependent on the the application and products used.

How would I get an audio job?!
Pay attention in physics and ask plenty of questions.

how long did it take for your dc creations box?
These are the exact issues I sited in the post above. Loss of his business was our fault fully. He was not the only one that had similar issues with our inability to return messages in a timely manner. In complete honesty we "bit off" more then we could chew at that time by being on several forums while understaffed. I do apologize that we generated such issues with fellow members here and on other sites. It is not in our nature to have such issues and overcoming them will take time and for us to show (this forum in particular) that we have resolved those issues and are moving forward with our business. If you send us an email or message us on the forum and feel we have not replied in a timely manner please feel free to give us a call. Unlike like 99% of other enclosure companies we have our number listed and do take calls on a regular basis. Thanks, Dustin

how long did it take for your dc creations box?
I just notice this thread so sorry for the late response to it. Any time we take on an order we predict a 10-12 business day period from the date paid to the date shipped. We typically get them out much quicker, but we suggest this time frame to deal with any delays that may occur during the build process. When we first came to this site ,we were severely understaffed and that generated issues that some are discussing of our inability to get back with clients in a timely manner. We have since fixed this issue with the exception of caraudio.com where I receive 50+ PM's a day and we are looking for ways to clear that up which may include disabling PMs there. Also, you just paid on the 9th and emailed over the weekend after we had closed on Saturday(I did respond this morning). I asked you via email today (as you asked for a refund..siting that you could not wait) what you expected as per our emails I did inform you of the build to ship time. I was not being upset, I was asking because if something is not clear enough on my end then I need address that and ensure the our clients understand our build time/process before paying for an enclosure.

Pricing structure
We can build something along those lines. I have a few ideas that might work. PM sent.

Website Order/Purchase setup
Thanks.... We had to put the calculator on hold for now. We are designing another purchase tab for DIY enclosures...once that is done we will go back and work on the calc.
-
Website Order/Purchase setup
Also, want to note that there should be a calculator or sorts added tonight to offer an idea of overall costs. Again, this calculator will only be an "idea" not the actual ending total as discounts and other features will more then likely not be adjusted into the total.

Website Order/Purchase setup
From the looks of it, it seems to be working as it should. Still has some kinks to work out on my side, but it should be functional. http://dc-creations.com/purchase.php We do not have any prices up at this time so it is basically a quote system for now. However, it is much easier to keep track with everything using this system. If you use this for a quote, please be sure to fill it out fully including the forum information to ensure you are getting the correct price.
