IXL-10 Review
I thought the 12 sounded better in your car. I have not had a chance to play with mine yet, but I will shortly.

MAW-15 Ported
It does not account for anything .. the port, driver ... In a smaller box, this could be a significant portion of the volume. Glad to hear you are happy with the setup.

Mach 5 Audio IXL-12.2.2 HT
Hi Mike. Looks good. I took an IXL 12 home yesterday and will use it for a HT sub. I had been thinking box, but I am liking the look of your sono build. Can you add in some details about the finshing. I was thinking of using a 300W Bash amp. How much power are you feeding yours? I am toying with the idea of a 500W amp, but really, that will only provide about 2 dB more. Cheers.

Mach 5 IXL 10
I was also around for the Term Lab testing and got a chance to listen to the setup. This is very a beefy unit that looks to be very well built. The sound quality was also very good. I don't know anything about car audio, so I won't add any more than that. I took a IXL 12 home and will do something normal with it ... build a HT sub.

Dennis' Mach 5 Bitch Van Build Log
Looking good. Next time you guys are working, I should come over and "supervise"!

New Little Project for College
70w is good for moderate listening levels. Obviously if you want it to pound, you will need much more power. I thought about that and there are binding posts and a switch if ever I want to use it with an external amplifier.

Looks good. Can you post your T-Line simulations. Where were you planning on putting the tweeter.

IXL-18.4 Published Specs
Mark, did the video turn out? I was at Mark's when the testing was done. This driver can move a lot of air! How come you guys can't listen to music at 85-90dB?

Diy Components
Good stuff Mark. They look great! I can't wait to hear them. How come not 4th order XO? Since you have them setup with the DCX can push the XO higher around where I am trying to go? I wonder if I am try to cross too high. How does the CEO like them? Cheers, Gio.

Tweeter and Xover assistance
I seemed to like them more than Mark. Mark is also very picky about beers. I think next round we should look at a far field response. I know you won't like me saying this, but it may need some BSC.

Help building cheap sub
The amp probably will not like 2 ohms. Go for 4 ohms or 8 ohms total.

Help building cheap sub
Hi, I used that same plate amp for my MAW-10 DIY Subwoofer Project. It will do the trick. If you do go with two woofers, I would suggest you go push-pull with them, not at 90 degrees as you mentioned.

Mach 5 Audio Logo Competition
I like this one. How about a white dot on the middle to make it look like an LP.

MAW-10 Home Subwoofer Project
You car audio folks are different! Ironically, Mark had suggested that we take a video of it. Well will try and post the results.

MAW-10 Home Subwoofer Project
This is a re-post of my MAW-10 Ported Subwoofer Project. This subwoofer performs very well, producing nice tight bass. The rear porting gives some flexibility to adjust the response by moving towards or away from a wall. The MAW-10 driver easily soaks up all the power that the small plate amplifier can deliver. This subwoofer design easily outperforms my 10" JBL PB-10 subwoofer and it integrates very well with my Fostex FE127E Sealed Bipole Project. Over all, this sub performs very well and it makes for a simple and inexpensive project. Pictures and enclosure details are available at: MAW-10 DIY Ported Subwoofer Project. Cheers, Gio.

Thanks. I have to give most of the build credit to Mark. It turned out rather well. It sounded very good with the 20" sub at Mark's place. Since that time, the full-range drivers have broken in more and I can cross them over at 80Hz. Next I will be building (with help from Mark) a matching 10" subwoofer with Part Express plate amp. The sub will be a MAW-10. I don't know much about subs, but it is heavy, has a nice cast frame and the surround looks to be well connected. I will post the design for comments and pictures when it is done.

Hi Mark, I will bring down my Gainclone, Tube Amp and Fostex FE127E bipole speakers. Hopefully there will be a good turn out. Cheers, Gio.
