It doesn't need a recone. It's actually in good shape, the dustcap just had to be glued back on because they don't fare too well in spl applications.

Ouch. When I stapled my hand, I had the stapler backwards and it went into the palm of my hand. I have a little nerve damage from that. I should have been taking my time and paying attention.

It doesn't hurt to mess around with different boxes. I would recommend just trying out an extra cubic foot with double the port area and a higher tune for spl. That should get it louder.

You would probably have to mount them from the back because the magnet wouldn't fit in the mounting hole

Sliced fingers open w/ razors, burnt myself a few times with my soldering gun. I also stapled my hand with an industrial stapler. I had a friend (well not really a friend) trip over an extension cord for my drill and land his hand on a rusty nail. Not a whole lot else besides a few cuts and bruises.

I wouldn't worry about that amp putting out 1800 watts and blowing the sub.

And could you believe that I have a brand new set of rainbow pro 3-ways just sitting around waiting to be hooked up. I figured I had to buy into the hype, because nowhere around here sells them.

You never know. I gained 7-10 db's by changing my box design. I went from a 137.7 on the old a/c to a 137.7 on the new termlab. That was in a convertible too.

I used to have a pioneer one for my winamp. Got a new computer and can't find it anymore. It was pretty cool. It looked like a 740 and it had all of the animations and stuff.

Benching an amp takes some tools. You can't just do math and find out. It is not underrated to the point of putting out 1800 watts. It may put out 675 or so watts.
