  1. If you go over the window line, competition will be a lot stiffer.
  2. I would also like some form of release date if that info is available, as I am anticipating purchasing a pair.
  3. That would probably be nice too, but it would also add a bunch of extra weight. I'm trying to skimp as much as possible on weight in this setup.
  4. I was thinking of putting the hinges along the side panels so they wouldnt stick out much. I think I made it too complex. The motorization idea seems too complex too. I think if i could just mount some latches in the bottom and on the top with a quick release then it would work fine. I just don't know what kind of latches to use. Anyone have some ideas?
  5. Wow thats huge let me resize it. Edit: Fixed.
  6. I am planning on designing a box for my rli-8s I am getting and I am trying to figure out a way to latch down the box in 2 places. I want the box to sit in the well for daily driving and I want it to sit up top when I take the t-tops off. I want to design something like the back seats on the nissan quests. There is a compartment where it hinges down into to stow the seats. I am thinking about going to the junkyard and looking around for some hinges and latches that I could use. Does anyone have any ideas? I can draw it up in paint if yall want. Thanks guys
  7. Looks nice. Does that interfere with your legs?
  8. Looks really nice man. The second one came out a lot better I would say. Can't wait for the in car pics.
  9. I used some quick detailer to "wash" the car. Looks nice. Can't wait for the cruise tomorrow. I will try to bring a camera and take some pics. The quick detailer plus a little elbow greese took everything off because I had so much polish/wax on the paint. Came out pretty nice. Now I am onto the windows and a quick rundown of the interior.
  10. I just finished claying/polishing/waxing my car the other day. Don't have any pics though. Whats the best way to get bugs off after you just finished detailing the hell out of your car? After I got home that night my front end was full of bugs.
  11. Open up the case and inspect all of the fans. Maybe your cpu heatsink fan is grinding on the heatsink.
  12. I would pick the alpines. They are more geared towards sq than the old p series planet audio amps are.
  13. One suggestion that I would like to make is that you play them to make sure the angles are right before you glass it all up. Just hot glue it in place w/ some dowels. Nothing like finishing up some really time consuming door pods to find out that they don't sound good.
  14. Well, the Finn's use humidifiers in their spl cars. Thats all I know. I couldn't explain the effects of it on spl.
  15. That port looks way off. Crooked as hell. Straighten up the port and make it go further back and then bend it at a 90 degree angle if you have to. And if that's for 2 sx 18's then you will need way more port area.
  16. If you tune your box to peak out at the resonant frequency of your car, you get two peaks in one which makes for the loudest possible note in your car. It's late and I dont feel like getting too technical, so I hope this will suffice.
  17. http://arcaudio.com/arc-05/amplifiers/xxk_4150.htm That seems like a really good price if the amp is in good shape. I emailed arc and here were the factory direct prices on some other xxk amps. 1500-XXK $689 2100-XXK $409 (plus $30 shipping).
  18. Mike recommends 15 sq inches per driver, so that was the minimum I was going to use.
  19. Hey guys, I was messing around with some box plans, and for the recommended box for two rl-i 8's (.6 CF @35 hz) the port has to be over 106 inches long. That is almost a 3 CF port! Anyone know how I can get the length down some? Check my math, but I'm pretty sure this is right.
  20. http://www.gm.com/employeediscount.do?cmp=gm_com GM Employee Discount for Everyone. Some discounts go up to 11k. You can get a z71 silverado for like 23 grand. Awesome deals here. Props for GM, they will be selling a bunch of cars now.

  22. I will probably be going with the JBL's because of the bang/buck thing even though they put me over the 0-600 rating. $603 shipped for the pair, and they look pretty nice. That is unless somebody can suggest something else. It will probably be a few weeks anyway.
