Twisted's New BIG Amp
ford302redneck replied to twistedchild420's topic in Amplifiers / Head Units / Processors / ElectricalI just noticed in the video, you said it wouldn't blow up like DAT. I'm surprised people over SMD didn't wanna kill you for saying that. Has David seen the video? I know he got super butthurt over me bringing up DAT.

Updated my Blackberry FTW
I got a text message saying OS6 was finally ready for update on my phone. So last nite I took to time to download it. This is got to be the best verison yet. I double my download speed, and also have tab web browsing(this is something I've really wanted). I haven't checkout many other features yet. But if anybody can update, I would advise it. It is FTW. I have a Verizon Bold 9650.

I need a 2500 watts amp
ford302redneck replied to Notorious97200's topic in Amplifiers / Head Units / Processors / ElectricalProblem with the DC is they haven't got stock up yet. They pretty much sell them all before they arrive. Plus the DC people are on SMD. But out of the amps listed, there won't be a big power difference between any of them in my opinion...

I need a 2500 watts amp
ford302redneck replied to Notorious97200's topic in Amplifiers / Head Units / Processors / ElectricalA DC 3500 is cheaper than a Sundown 2500 ! Got it ?! I don't know how are the build quality and the parts used in it, but it's a new option for me. MAP vs MAP it isn't. Dealer vs Dealer it isn't. So obviously you got quoted between dealer and MAP. But I wouldn't be surprised if the Sundown 2500d was close in output. That means he has no idea. x2, Ford302redneck have you ever tested one or seen a test on either of the DC Amps. If not dont speculate we dont pass info around like that here, only facts. Thanks Ive heard good things about the DC amps, come from the build house that Cactus Sounds amps and where the Sundown SAZ-4500D comes from. Prices are around the same as the Crescendo amps that will be coming out in the next few weeks. I didn't say it would. I just said I wouldn't be surprised. That's neither a fact or misleading anybody. Its not like I said, I bet the Sundown 2500d is stronger and better. So chill out. I'm not saying nothing bad about DC amps or the buildhouse. So where did you get that? And yes I know people who have tested a good amount of boards from that buildhouse. The DC 3.5k was one of them but no need to get into that.

Type of Aluminum?
I know. I was just saying. I think there's a bunch of thievin' bastards everywhere. My Granny had a house she rented catch fire and pretty much burned to the ground. Long story that doesn't have effect on the story. The night after it burnt, somebody stripped it of copper. But lucky we caught the guy the next day on a bicycle with all the copper. Couldn't get him for stealing but it is against the law in SC to be in possession of 20+ pounds of copper. Lol. Weird ass law but regardless it got that SOB.

I need a 2500 watts amp
ford302redneck replied to Notorious97200's topic in Amplifiers / Head Units / Processors / ElectricalI was told if everything is good in the output section today then its going to be shipped back to me today. And I personally wouldn't go care for the prices of the DC amps. From what shizzzon told me, they are expensive and nothing special is added to the table. But its just me based on what shizzzon has told me. I've just receive an answer from a South East dealer, and they are not expensive at all ! they have a 2000 w and a 3500 w models. Not really what I'm looking for, but with such pricing, I may go that route. I will not post those prices here, bu they are niiiice ! I'm afraid to run a 3500 watts amp on my car, and going from 1500 w to 2000 w won't change a lot for me ! I've seen the price sheet. The 2000w is kinda high for what it is. AQ is cheaper. The 3500 isn't badly priced, but I hear the old Sundown 3000d is compared its output. The 5000watt is on point with most in that range. There 9kw is the cheapest one, well at presale price. I never got a price on the 7.5k or 12k, because they didn't have many coming in yet. Strapping. Its like bridging a 2channel. The impedance is cut in half. If you have a dual 2, I think the coils are actually 1.4s. Wired in series in 2.8ohms. Then after bridging the amps your back at 1.4ohms.

Type of Aluminum?
I didn't steal mine. I had a old 50s Chevy truck, I'm not sure what to call it, but it was a small big rig. Anyways, it had about a mile of copper piping on it. The truck was rusted to death, not much left, so we decided to scrap it. I also collected copper from various places when I came across it. I usually find a 100lbs a year, pretty much laying around. Not all at the same place, but two pounds here two pounds there, it adds up quick. I also save aluminum cans. I have around 200 dollars I need to cash in.

Sir-Lancelot's Yukon XL - UPDATE 18" ZCONS / 4 GP3k Page 27
Meh. Putting in those wimpy subs won't be hard.
-
which sub?
Lies... I don't know how you deal with it. 90% of the people nuthug over there. The other 10% can't comment on it without being called a basher. So far on this forum I have yet to hear anybody say nuthug or bash.

When will i get my BL???
Scott, will you be making the 6spoke basket in USA also? Also are you planning on doing a 8"-12" in that basket? I heard a from a birdy a 8inch was coming 2 years ago, but it didn't happen. Also what about the other size? It still on the backburner? Also, wouldn't it cost the same to design your own basket as making all the tooling for the existing 12 spoke? And if it did, why didn't you design a different one?

I need a 2500 watts amp
ford302redneck replied to Notorious97200's topic in Amplifiers / Head Units / Processors / Electrical^ Put up a WTB, they show up here and there for great prices. I love mine! If I didnt have amps I would prolly like to try out SD or Stetsom. X3. Crunch GP3000dpro FTW. I hated they didn't come out with another line. Lance don't know it yet, but two if his are mine when he upgrades.

I need a 2500 watts amp
ford302redneck replied to Notorious97200's topic in Amplifiers / Head Units / Processors / ElectricalI said strap at 2.8ohms. Each amp will see 1.4ohms. That should yield 2500rms, and you only got to spend less than 400 dollars if you buy a 1500d used.

When will i get my BL???
No..we're in a transition period right now. We are no longer sourcing materials from china, this is one of the draw backs for this for the first time. Our lead times for things from china were topping 150 days..and that is unacceptable. Our lead times on having our forgings and materials here on our new stuff will be less than 30 days once all of the dies and stuff are worked out and we are rolling smoothly. ok so things are going to pick back up real soon is what your saying then? I love fi and all but a 30 day wait is kinda high haha Don't tell that to the people who preorder from other companies. They wait up to 3 months for a product. 30days isn't that bad. Not for what your getting. I know companies who have all just drop softparts in subs and lead time is 7-14days. And they have all the pieces. But once everything gets to rolling, the normal lead time will come back into play. And shouldn't have to worry about running out of stock.

Nick, I didn't know yall went to SBN. Guess that's the drawback from not talking much anymore. You still superbusy all the time? If not, shoot me a text.

I need a 2500 watts amp
ford302redneck replied to Notorious97200's topic in Amplifiers / Head Units / Processors / ElectricalI meant find a used 1500d. Run it at 1ohm strapped. Lol. Check classifieds. Even though if your in another country, it will be hard to find somebody to ship to you, but if you plan on selling yours on the forum shipping wouldn't be worth it. I vote buy another 1500d, strap at 2.8ohms until you get your electrical upgraded, each amp will see 1.4ohms. The BTL should handle that nicely. I usually don't suggest running below 1ohm. But with you it will be cost effective.

SAX-250.2 Proto Pics
Jake, do you have any new amps your thinking of making? And why a lower impedance? Most subs that will wire to 1ohm will wire to 4ohms. Unless your thinking people will run 3 or 4 4ohms speaker to each channel.

I need a 2500 watts amp
ford302redneck replied to Notorious97200's topic in Amplifiers / Head Units / Processors / ElectricalSundown had some forsale used a while back? It was in a sticky in the Sundown section. If you like Sundown, might as well stick with it. Or you could always buy another 1500d.

Type of Aluminum?
My original plan was 6061 I believe. Then I came across a chart and it was a big difference from 99%. I guess why I made this thread. And yes I have acess to a torch, hammer, anvil, drill press and a tap. If not I wouldn't be consider making my own. Lol. I had ton of copper piping the other week. But scrap price got the best of me and I took it all. Plus I was worried somebody would steal it. Having 300 dollars worth of copper in one pile made me nervous.

quality of my fi btl n3
Now why didn't you post pics? Or why the in the hell did I miss it?

Type of Aluminum?
Copper will cost to much. As I need 1.5t/2w/4l. Four of them.

quality of my fi btl n3
Looks good. As far as quality, your not going to get much better. All American made. The whiteish glue your talking about it is around the spiders correct? This is caused adding a fast acting drying agent instead of having to leave pressure on the area while it dries. Doesn't effect anything. Just makes it a heap faster. As far as miss aligned, its almost impossible to get it a 100% perfect. Most companies put boots over the magnet just because of that. It covers it up for most to never see.

Type of Aluminum?
I'm curious on what type of aluminum people use for bus bars and such? I will be making some to fit my post batteries because I can't find any terminals I like. Plus making my own will cost less, because I need four.
