Steve Meade's Clipping Tool
I really like the concept behind it. Its a tool this market has been in need for a while, but still most people who really need it, won't buy it. Take a average kid who works at minimal wage, buying budget equipment, isn't going to shell out the 100+ dollars that doesn't add anything really. Sure it will save them in the long run, but they usually don't think like that. I hope he haves plenty of chances to give these away, as I see getting the product out is key. And just because your subscribed to Meades channel doesn't make you a nuthugger. I subscribed to anybody that makes videos worth watching.

Shopping at American Eagle...
I'm very picky about clothes. Its not that I care the way I look, just like anything else in life, I like stuff to fit my needs and tastes. And I'm a so called Redneck, but I got to have nice clothes. Nothing better than wearing fresh new quality clothes.

Shopping at American Eagle...
It's fine. There's a good thread going on now. It's called "SMD System" or something like that lol. Also, there was a ton of shit on the last 3 pages of Trippis build log. That was like 2 days ago though. You know what it is lol :/ Yeah, I bet its still DC this, DC that, I'll PM with pricing, even though nobody asked. Bunch of low self esteem pansy's over there. I don't see how actually people who know better can deal with that forum. If it stays the way it was when I was there, people will finally see the true colors. Or they will ban everybody that disagrees with anybody. But actually on topic, I'm not happy with AE shirts anymore. They wear ok, but they don't have worth a shit themes like they use to. Or any good designs. I remember back in 02, AE, AF, and ect all had shirts with cool slogans with dirty meanings and such. Oh how I miss those days.

I want SQ Part II
Well, the Sundown has the crossovers that can go active, and I really don't think I can find a 100.4 for what I can get that for. Headunit wise, I'm really not a fan of any currectly offered with active capability. And I plan to run a real processor down the road, so buying a headunit I don't like, to later not need it isn't what I want to do. I got a buddy telling me to start simple. 2 way passive. He thinks he can get them to sound good. Which I'm not disagreeing, I just don't know if I'll get the imaging I want. But what would I expect with a set of passive with no real way to EQ or time align them. I'm semi leaning towards a 3way passive. Then I can get my placement then when I'm ready go active. But the different in $$$ in a good bit. Seems 3way cost double that of a 2way of the same. My AQ 4x90 has awesome crossovers...just throwing that out there. It might not be as powerful as the 100.4 but I doubt you'd ever push either amp to tell a diff. It does have pretty good crossover but it seems Sundown is a little more flexible, plus I would almost consider Jake a friend, so its really no real reason not to run it. Not downing anything else, but as long as Sundown makes amp that fits my needs, I'm going to run em. Unless I get a helva deal on something else.

I want SQ Part II
Pretty good bit of effort. Whatever it takes to achieve the sound I'm looking for. If somebody told me to cut a whole in my floor for my midbass to get what I want, I probably would. And I value your opinion a good bit, and I agree I pretty sure my tastes will change. They have big time in the last few months. One reason my mind finally started understand what I was hearing. But I think my main goal of a 3way active with the mid and tweeter on axis will stay the same. Unless I find what I'm looking for before I get to that point. Only draw back I want is able to get pretty loud. Not super loud. If it will keep up with 140dB of bass(not that I will have that) is what I'm aiming for. And I know I can't have loudness plus perfect imaging, and I'm not trying to. Not at the same time anyways.

I want SQ Part II
I plan on carefully placing the drivers on the A-Pillars if I go that route. And I'm sure I'll have to try a few different setups before I find the one I like. I've seen 3 or 4 so far like my truck, so I kind of got idea of how they need to be. I wouldn't mind the kick idea, but from what I read, they are just to far away to get really good imaging.

FI BTL Warranty
Funny? It usually takes a good amount of pressure to blow it off. Usually it happens in a smaller box with minimal port area and a good deal of power. Some subs was notorious for blowing caps off quiet a bit even in optimal enclosures.

I want SQ Part II
I either want to buy a set of components I can either use the tweeter or mid later if possible or a real budget set if I go that route.

I want SQ Part II
Ok. I have a 01 Ford F-250, Crew cab. I've been doing a lot of reading since my last thread. Got a better idea of what I want. I just need help deciding which route to take. First, I want a good staging and imaging. At first I didn't really care about this, but now I almost can't listen to my setup now because I can hear each speaker individually. Its really driving me crazy. As far as having a perfect reproducing of the recording, meh, I don't care so much about that. I don't want it way offf, but I want my tastes. Also, for step one I won't have a processor, I will eventually, and I'm sure I won't be able to dial everything in until, but I think I can live with it. Option one is, 2-way passive components in the kick. Drawback I'm seeing here is, I don't think I'll be able to get the imaging high enough. But since I won't have a processor this will be easiest. Option two, 3way passive, mid and tweeter on axis in the A-Pillar, midbass in the door. This is a bit more pricey vs 2way, but I think the imaging will be better because of the on-axis. Options three, full range 4inch in the A-pillar, 8inch midbss in the door active.(Using x-over on a Sundown 100.4) this seems a good options, but I'm scared the "highs" won't be loud enough without a tweeter. I don't like really loud cheap tweeter loudness, but I do like a louder tisk than average. Also, eventually, I will run a 3-way active setup. But I want to start slow then upgrade when I feel comfortable I can tune everything properly. Any help would be awesome. I'm still a noob when it comes to SQ. And I'm willing to learn if possible.

When are the new SSD subs gonna come out?
It will go up a little bit..because it has to. But it is still on par with the course considering people are paying around 200 bucks for a Chinese produced 12 that is far less of a sub. Taking a stab at the SA-12? Gotta love the SSD tho..have owned every model of it since it first came out. Best sounding sub in its class IMO. He wasn't stabbing at anything particular, but a board statement of how people spend more for a less driver.

saz1500d v.1 v.s dd m1a?
I'm not saying it will or won't. I was just saying don't come in here saying, hey my M3 will, so automatically, you assume the M1 will. If you know the m1 will, that's cool. Plus I find running at a low impedance stupid. And usually only causes problems. But that's just MY opinions. People do it all the time without any. But the few that take there cheaper built amps and do it because everybody else is, and when it breaks whines about the product and in return turns people away from it. All because people like you say, my amp will, so they assume theirs does. Then look at the manufacture to fix it. Also, just because you can do it with the amp doesn't mean everybody can. A lot of variables determining either way. That's what this thread was about. People giving uncertain answers as facts and not accounting for unknown variables. Enough rant. You get the point.

2ohm load amp
I would like to see a small Class D with 4ohm ratings instead of 1ohm. Jake, have you ever thought of doing a regulated 1000watt amp. Does 1000rms 1-4ohms? I know the market is kinda niche, but from a dealer stand point, it would be quiet amazing. I hated having to match subs and amps together on a limited number of voicecoil options. (We did stock a ton of vc configurations). Assuming price could be affordable, its something I might would look into for future. Or at least 2ohms and 1ohm same ratings. Then both dual 4 and dual 2 will work on the amp.

saz1500d v.1 v.s dd m1a?
If its so totally different, tell me what the difference is, besides wattage. When did I recommend someone run their amp that low? I just said that he does. Yes, I skimmed the last couple of pages, though, out of lack of time, but it is about how there is no "real world test" and variables must be the exact same across the board to be considered accurate and say that one amp is better than another. Also, we shouldnt take amps at face value of doing true power, there will be some "give" in their ratings. Did you even read my last post? I misread 98GMC's post and didnt see how they tested, so I admitted my mistake. What's the same besides DD logo and maybe a few components. Stating pieces that are the same would probably be a smaller list. There different designs(to a certain extent). And you can't compare that one does this, and the other would do it. Like me give you a example. The original 20.1 loved low impedances, efficiency went to hell, but regardless, wiring it low, it would run all day. The original 40.1, didn't like low impedances near as much. You couldn't even hardly burp it at .5ohms. Muchless run it at a 1/4ohm like the 20.1 would do. Do you follow me yet? These mades was made at the same place, and sold by the same company, but wouldn't do the exact same. So until you know for a fact the amp in question will do what your claiming, don't answer. Knowing the M3 will do it, doesn't automatically mean the M1 will.

IA 40.1 now @ SSA! $1599
I know at least for the 2006 model people claimed they were getting between 4-5k but you know how reliable that knowledge is lol. I would think at least 4k though, it's rated 3600 w @ 12v so it should be a little higher. Edit: Also Mark said 4500 rms on 12v and up to 8k on 16v, a lot of power basically lol Yeah thats what keeps me from getting a good reliable average number. 3600 @ 12v Mark says 4500, there is almost 1k difference there. So if someone could verify this for me, it would be great. Also, why under rate your amp SOOOO much if it can do much, much more than that? I understand maybe one or two hundreds Take the Original 20.1, the ideal was supposedly a 2k RMS amp. But in reality would do from 2500 to 3k. When people got use to IA being a under rating amp company, producing anything close to posted specs would of been a big let down to a lot of people. Plus lower rating helps fit into a lower class if you compete. You know a "cheater" amp.

triple stack BTL
Cause the 18 basket is a little different than the rest. But to answer your last question, I don't think you can tell the gaps if you don't know exactly the difference. Did you look to see if it had cooling? And why doesn't the owner of the subs know anything about them? But if your having this much doubt, maybe you shouldn't buy them of the chance their not exactly the right ones.

saz1500d v.1 v.s dd m1a?
Plus, your comparing two totally different DD amps, and they will act differently. So what was your point? I can ramble off the amp I have will do .0125(four dual 1 all wired in parallel), but does that mean all amps will? Come on now, did you even read this thread or understand the points being made?

saz1500d v.1 v.s dd m1a?
To many variables to decided either way. Power compression could of came into play with the Sundown. Also, the Kicker was ran below rated impedance, this could of also effect the outcome. Those are just two of the many variables that effected the outcome. So you really can't draw a conclusion either way. Only thing that I proved was, in my setup, the Sundown was loudest in SPL. Which was the only thing I measured and cared about at the time. Not like I was comparing for a reason, just did it for fun, as I had three amps laying around. And I was just curious.
