Its a aluminum plug that is inserted in the vent pole to force air in the gap for better cooling. And I say you should get BP power and cooling. Just to be on the safe side.

8 gauge can only really support 40amps at 15-20ft. Either you wont get full power out the amp, or it'll mess it up. You really need 4 gauge to get the most out of that amp.

well im not calling or writing any more. At the end of this week i will be driving my unhappy ass up to his shop in TN. so i wont have to wait any longer im either going to get my alt then or my money back and i will be going with EA if that is the case.
