nope. you can have loaded options for daily. the third slug allows the clearance for the himax coil to jump it to 27mm. The difference between the daily and spl option is the coil gap. it will be slightly wider for the daily option since it will be played on music, more forgiving. while SPL will be used for straight burp(most of the time atleast) so the gap will be narrower for more magnetic control(dont know the technical term) since it will play the same tone most of the time and not switching back and forth so much like music would do. If you plan to listen to the sub on music, the Daily option is a MUST.

If you treat your equipment right, it will treat you right. Just because a sub is reconable doesn't make it an excuse to throw the sub to beyond its limits. Know what your sub limits are. If you feel the need to throw more power get yourself a more powerful sub Cool pics btw
