  1. Input? Me??? Naw...lol I think it has all been said. If I look at the coils and suspension on the previous model, we have upgraded those in size and number. But I am never one to say double the RMS all day and youll be happy. While there is a possibilty for it, I wouldnt in a million years stick 2500W to the older version (nor the newer one). Just as Steve Meade has 4500+ W per BTL, I do not recommend power like that to those either. At the end of the day it is really a function of the user and application more than anything. Parts are beefier, but my recommendations are not
  2. SQ will "improve" in my opinion, but you will definitely loose in output. As others have said, keep that box in storage incase you want to go back to the loud side of things
  3. Looking good! Cant wait for your impressions of it when its done... we will see hoe long the mirror will last this time
  4. Very cool:) Cant wait for your impressions once its finsihed...

OK... how many subs and the total box for X number of subs is 17-18 cuft? Each sub has 165 sqin of port 9" long as well? Im sure itll work fine, but normally a little tweaking on things will optimize them for the application.
  6. No I do not have the specific specs for your subs... But if you let me know space and other things we can help you get it setup and rolling. Specs really dont help in the grands scheme of things with SPL. But you could realistically take the BTL15 specs off the site and use those. Nothing majorly different between them. Thanks, Scott

Hmmm... hard call there. How much space do you think you would have overall? Im sure youd have enough for a pair of 18s (BL or BTL). Then the problem becomes... should you order a single BTL 18 and 2500W amp (with the ability to add another sub and amp down the road) or do a pair of BLs off the single amp and have less room for upgrades. The pair of BLs (15s or 18s) will be louder initially, but if you really want to upgrade later, the pair of BTLs and amps will definitely take the cake. Hinges on your ultimate goals. Be advised that you would need some solid electrical upgrades to push a 5000W too... so it becomes a little more involved the larger you plan on going. Let me know approx what space you will have and we can see if we cant optimize things from there
  8. Either the Aresenal or the SSD 10 with the copper coil would work well in a smaller ported enclosure. Maintain good SQ, but have some ooomph too it when you need it (relatively for the size of the setup). Either one in 1 cuft tuned from 30-33 Hz will drop deep and sound clean.
  9. We can tweak the SSDs to work a little better in the sealed setup (provided I know that the subs will be used in a sealed application when they are ordered). I would personally take the pair of sealed subs over the single ported 99% of the time. You will have similar output near tuning with the sealed subs vs ported, but more top end as well as a more natural frequency response overall. Thanks, Scott
  10. With the BL and the 2006, Id look to the D2 flatwind and cooling options. For the 1606 the same would work fine, or you might be able to get away with just the cooling on the standard coil too. 2.2 tuned to 33 is a solid daily setup for that sub and amp combo.
  11. Send me an email and a pic to [email protected] if you get a chance. The terminals are labeled + and - as well into the plastic... but gotta love the terminal manufacturer. Sorry
  12. Looks like you got it Keep us posted in either this or the other post you have. Thanks, Scott
  13. BL is out of the question... they dont like sealed. But I could see a 1.6 cuft "ported" enclosure with a BL12 using a single 4 " Aeroport externally side firing. Id shoot that towards the drivers side to load in the corner. Should work well and have plenty of output for the space. More so than a sealed Q would. The BLs have a little more motor strength and can be shoved into smaller ported enclosures than the Q could ported.
  14. As for the subsonic being set at 25 Hz at 12 dB/oct... I have been telling people to pick up the Harrison Labs adjustable F-mod and using it in conjunction with the factory amp filter to double up. Sort of eliptical, but better than the standard setting. Not sure what RF and Kicker were thinking without having the subsonics adjustable...
  15. 3 at 35 should make for a loud/clean daily setup. Please keep us posted.
  16. It will "work" but not optimally and youd be better stepping down to a 15" at that point. Even at 5 cuft tuned to 33Hz itll peak in the 40-60 range and not be quite as loud down low... yes it works, but not a flat response.
  17. Should work fairly well. We can tweak the SSDs to be a little more sealed oriented as well if we know the application when we are building the subs. Thanks, Scott

4-6 cuft seems to keep most people happy. 4 cuft is about .83 Qtc which can be dropped a little with some poly fill (up to 1 lb per cuft of enclosure). Thanks, Scott
  19. Thanks for the order. You will be getting a tracker from UPS soon (please ignore the delivery date as it isnt based off of the pick up date... one picked up they will update to the correct date). SAZ1000 should make a solid amp for the Q.... same with the old 1000D. I personally think the 1500D is too much power for a standard Q.
  20. Not a fan of up firing in most trunks. 19" of height is fine provided you use a full 19" of height for the front mounting panel. This will give you more than enough meat for things to screw into. In all honesty we have been selling more 18s than anything else recently. People are stepping things up bigtime. Kind of put me out for a little bit as I have been ordering cones and 18" parts based off of previous companies sales... which left me close to out of parts a couple of times. Now I over order on them just to be sure And to think I use puny 10s and 12s...lol Looking at 2-3 dB increase across the board with the same power an proper enclosure. Nothing major, and primarily at the expense of trunk space. Thanks, Scott
  21. No worries. I have been getting streched a little thin and delegate things for others to do... which I dont always follow up on. Glad you looked and got in touch. Let me know if I can help with anything else.

I had that returned with improper postage... apparently a single stamp didnt cover it. It got sent back out on Tuesday with $.58 postage to cover things this time. Its on its way
  23. I know both fairly well...lol. And it seems people have about summed things up. Very different subs. Both have their points and applications and there is some crossover between the two, but really both were designed from different standpoints.
  24. Back up and rolling again. Nick had called me and we had checked the tracker... no news to you as it hadnt moved. I had Chris search the warehouse and found it sitting on a wrong pallet. Not sure how it got there, but the tracker will definitely show movement on it now. Sorry for the delay Thanks, Scott
  25. Is the coil burnt, or does it simply not read? Normally a recone is the only way to fix that... send me an email to [email protected] and we can get you sorted.
