  1. Are these the "new" poly mids or the older model? I would kill to get my hands on eight of them for a HT surround setup.
  2. http://www.the12volt.com/installbay/forum_...KW=oscilloscope
  3. It's not the size of your amp, it's how you use it. You going to put logos on the cones Jacob? I think a nice silver Sundown logo would look awesome with that cone. They look great.
  4. Thanks for the help guys. Would side-firing make that much of a difference? My subwoofer is sealed so that is why I was leaning towards sealing the woofers in the mains. Okay, so the 810921 HDS tweeter is a go. There is a 4" Exclusive midwoofer (830881) that looks good for the midrange. Madisound doesn't carry it, but I'm sure they can order it. http://www.tymphany.com/datasheet/printview.php?id=1 What about the 8" Exclusive 830884 for the midbass? http://www.tymphany.com/datasheet/appview.php?id=4 The 10" XLS woofers are twice the price of the 8" Exclusive's. http://www.madisound.com/catalog/product_i...products_id=686 The 8" Poly is about the same price. http://www.madisound.com/catalog/product_i...roducts_id=1610 Why doesn't Tymphany/Peerless list any power recommendations for their drivers? I'm trying to power each 3-way main with about 425watts at 2ohms from my Adcom GFA-555 II, so that is something to keep in mind as well.
  5. I've been getting the itch to do a 5.1 setup with a pair of nice front speakers. I've always wanted to use some Peerless drivers and I've read a lot of good things about their components. Zaph thinks highly of them so I figure I'll give them a shot. I'm looking at the 810921 tweeter, 830872 midrange, and a pair of the 830883 woofers for the 3-way fronts and just using a single tweeter and woofer for each of the surrounds. I'm undecided on what drivers to use on the center, but maybe WTW. 810921 Peerless 1" textile dome HDS tweeter Nomex 830872 - 4" Nomex cone woofer Shielded Exclusive 830883 - 7" woofer I've been wanting to test out Madisounds crossover design service as well, so this will give me a chance to do that. I'm still debating on whether to port the woofers or go sealed since I only need them to play down to 80Hz. Any thoughts from you guys on the driver selection?
  6. Nice! I love old school audio equipment.
  7. That's as good as being asked for id when buying booze in my book.

  9. Chad- not sure if you have already posted it somewhere else, but what did you think of the SPL 12? I know you have a lot of experience with some hardcore drivers.
  10. They are dual 2ohm. What do these bad boys weigh?
  11. Just got an email, it's back up.
  12. I emailed Josh but haven't gotten a reply back yet. I had some contact info in my pm's on CSO that I need. Hope they get it back up, I was looking forward to reading their thoughts on Adire.
  13. Holy chit, I just modeled it and you are right. Definitely not the sub to run sealed. To the OP, if you really want to go sealed I'd consider selling the OEM 10 and looking at other options that will work as a drop in for your current box. A dual 2 ohm driver would allow you to use the SAE-1000D to its full potential as well.
  14. "I have the gains turned all the way up and it delivers what I was hoping for. Is that bad?" Very. I'm going to guess that you have some other installation/equipment issues going on if you can barely hear the sub. Have you checked the phase? A 75Hz highpass should be fine for the components, especially running the TC 10" sealed. Give us more info on what equipment you are using and the install, and we can probably help you better.
  15. All of the Zed amps come with external fuses.
  16. Pm me your email address and I'll just send it.

  18. You've got some sick ass videos. I'll get a link up on my site for you tomorrow.
  19. Go to the link below and right click on the player bar. Go to Properties and copy the location. Then paste it into your browser and it should allow you to download from there. http://media.putfile.com/Phil-Collins---In...-KnoXX-Bass-Mix The bass comes in at about 3 minutes into the song.
  20. You don't know what you are missing.
  21. Definitely. I'm going to get a feature where the viewers can list all of the article titles on one page, and be able to click and view them from that page. If you guys have any more requests for what you would like on the website, please let me know. I have a meeting with the web designers next week and I can have them implement anything new.
  22. I have it. Where do you want me to upload it?
  23. Thanks Jeremy. I'll have it taken care of. I know the blog is very basic in functionality right now, but there will be many more features added soon including a search.
  24. You can get some very good deals on ebay, or get completely ripped off. Just be careful and make sure the person has good RECENT feedback. I remember when The Zeb went under and had nearly perfect feedback up until that point. The last couple months they were on ebay they took hundreds of people's money and never sent any product. I've found that I get the best deals from auctions that end during the week at odd times. You will pay more if the auction ends on the weekend. I recently got an Adcom GFP-555 II preamp in perfect condition for $140. Probabably the best deal I've gotten yet.

I'm surprised they are just now putting something up. Adire was sold to Hemp Acoustics/Guru AV Designs a few months back I believe. Dan Wiggins has since moved on to a new consulting company and licenses the XBL^2 patent.
