AA Havoc 1 15 or 2 12 (Pics)
either or would be fine, just flip a coin, or whatever is prettiest for you. same with amps both subs will handle either amp its not recommended for the 1500d on them but im sure they both can take it.

(1) 18 or (2) 15's
well naturally the 18 will take half the power of the 2 15s to get going therefore less electrical strain, but sound wise alone i cant really see any benifets

few subs to compare
the Q sounds alot better then the BL to me, but in that list you put up there you really cant go wrong, i havent heard the havocs yet but have been told they are like Q's if thats the case then they should sound pretty nice. The SSA Icons are a great deal especially for the money, i put one on 600 rms and it sounded great enough for me to plan purchasing 2 more of them. The RL-P sounds decent as well, im just not a fan of TC made products but thats not to say they arent decent.

looks like you have plenty room for a ported 15 or 2 12s for that matter

last decision: 2 fi 12" X's or Q15
night and day difference in the 2 subs. IMO well worth the saving

Dual TC-3000 15"s & Orion 2500D
looks coo, i would have thought the port openings were to close to the back myself though
-

my 10 was 119 when i got it. maybe the assassins would be a good option if you cant get X's anymore

20 percent overrated is alot lol, and the 1600 does about 1200 so its closer to 25 percent

Is a single ICON 12 ported to the optimal specs loud?
they would be considered LSQ, they are accurate with the ability to get loud in the meantime

Thinking of a single 15
i messed with it in in a sealed box this weekend and it was pleasant sounding, it only had about 600rms on it though so youll get motre output then i got out of it. As for my review my setups are ported. i should be installing this 12 soon and i just ordered 1 of my 2 10s yesterday.

the Amp you posted on should be alright for the subs you listed, there are better options out there that will get you a better signal and cleaner power, but the 1100-1200 youll get out of the amp you mentioned is plenty for either of the subs.

97 Accord Trunk 15"Q ported ideas
pretty dependant on your power input as to the box side. either size box will fit in the car no problem, for "lows" in that car port and sub back, for a cleaner sound if your going to have the back seat down all the time port and sub toward the cabin. either way with the proper tuning it should sound decent. i recommend a 32-33hz box with about 3and a quarter to 3 and a half cubes with recommended RMS on the sub.

component speakers to keep up with
ok but what exactly are you tryign to get out of it, its a line driver and a bass enhancer are you trying to get more out of your front stage using it?

Time for a change
Yes, you can have high SPL in the very literal sense of the term and still have very realistic SQ. This is a goal I'm going for...I like when this happens. But what happens is people take "SPL" to mean lots of subwoofers and lots of subbass - which is not SQ. As soon as you can easily localize the subbass, poof, SQ has now gone out the window. agreed, glad to see we pretty much have the same idea there

component speakers to keep up with
what are you trying to achieve with the epicenter exactly?
-
Time for a change
i feel like your stating its all or none and thats definitely not the case, a person CAN have a mixture of the 2. imo you can have high sound pressure levels while still having a flat responce with some tuning

Time for a change
Still doesn't make it "SQ"... See, but that's the wrong approach to take if you're truly into that. I totally agree with Dave Brooks in the "stupid loud" thing - but that takes a front stage that can play those high volumes realistically, without distorting or losing linearity...and that's a lot harder to do than putting some subs in the back and sending them kW's. If you're into a flat response at earsplitting volumes, the way to go about it is to work on the front stage first, then worry about blending the subbass to that. Don't get me wrong, I like things loud - hell, otherwise I wouldn't be building BIB's or wanting to get Altecs or other really high-efficiency designs. But when it comes to the subbass, it has to concede to the mains, always, if you want a flat response or something approaching it. the first part I wasnt stating that it makes it SQ, but what i was trying to itterate is that maybe his mids are alot lower then the tweets and subs and hes looking for a set of components to raise that particular aspect of his listening quality up. the second part totally makes sense but not all the time does a person know what they are in for when they purchase somethign , and now they have it all together and they see the deficiencys and are asking for help. IMO your approach tells them to throw the subs out and start over.
