Welcome to the IHoP
It seems like every time I listen to the radio in the car, it starts right at the end of a good song, then you listen to a whole bunch of sh*t, and then when you finally get there, it just starts another good song. I swear it's every time ... Gah ... I need to start taking my MP3 player w/ me more often ...

If you have a fast connection and a direct connection to your modem or a high-end router, up the number of connections Opera uses. It helps a lot.

Welcome to the IHoP
My old school WRT54G v2 kicked the bucket yesterday (It has needed to be rebooted every 3-4 hours for the last week, freaking annoying) so I had to get a new wireless router. I wanted to get a dual-band Draft N v2.0, but there are only 2 available in Canada (P.S. Fvck you, D-Link, for releasing the DIR-855 in the US, but not Canada); the Linksys WRT600N or the Apple Airport Extreme. The cheapest I could find them was $230 for the WRT600N and $112 for the Airport Extreme and I wasn't about to spend double on the Linksys just because it wasn't Apple. So I go down to Staples and price match the Airport Extreme, bring it home, and hook it up. All the wired connections work fine right off the bat, so I go to try to log into the router because I hate using the setup discs (they take forever and install useless shit, usually trial software, on your computer). Error message. Do a search to see what the log in for it is, come up w/ nothing ... Crap ... Even tried to give AppleCare a call, but they're closed in Canada after 4 PM PST (weak). So I install the bullsh*t software and tell it NOT to check for updates or install additional components. After installing, it asks me to restart my computer, so I do, and what pops up immediately after restart ? Apple Software Update utility. And what's on my desktop ? Shortcuts for Safari, iTunes, and Quicktime. Fvck I hate Apple and their nazi-ism. So I go and do the manual setup and everything goes smoothly, restarts the router after setup, phone up the people who are "renting" my internet and give them the new password, everyone has a better signal now (the girl about 4 houses away had a 2 bar signal w/ the old router, now she has a 3-4 bar signal). I'm thinking; sweet ... Then I start getting the phone calls ... "My torrents aren't working; my video chats aren't working" ... I go and check to make sure ports are opening and they aren't; interesting. Do some searching and find out the Airport Extreme doesn't support UPnP through Windows w/o installing the Bonjour software on each computer. My nearly 5-year-old WRT54G supported UPnP and this brand new, nearly top-of-the-line unit doesn't w/o installing extra sh*t ? God I hate Apple. So now the dilemma; is not having to deal w/ Apple's bullsh*t really worth an extra $132 (after taxes) ?

Sweet ... Opera Link is finally reliable ... Now I can do access all my work stuff from home and my home stuff from work just by switching accounts ... and access either when I'm away ... Once again, sweet ... Seems quicker than 9.50b2, too ...

It's tough to do, but don't sweat it too much, man. Go hang out w/ your friends and have fun (and, by fun, I don't mean going to bars, clubs, strippers, etc.) and just take your mind off of the situation. Give her the space she needs to work things out and enjoy your freedom while she does.

Apparently, I wasn't the only one Newegg pissed off. For those who didn't know (or care), Newegg switched over their product images from .jpeg/javascript to Flash. As a result, it offered no tangible benefit (unless you really like looking at a loading screen instead of the product image) while making images load significantly slower, making them impossible to print without 3rd party software, and making it impossible to link to the picture to show your friends/clients. I had been firing off e-mails to Newegg for about a week before they changed it back today (thank god).

Buys you a two bedroom condo here, maybe, just maybe a 750sq. ft. house. Market is higher there, so, what are you looking at? ~2000 sq.ft house (2.5 bed, 1.5 bath, 2 floors) w/ 900 sq. ft shop, 2-car garage, and a small yard in town right beside a park and close to schools. Sounds like a hella of a house man!!!! Congrats!!!!! Is it in need of some repairs such as plumbing, or the roof? Cause things like that can be VERY costly Roof just got done, plumbing is in progress as we speak. We may actually end up getting a slightly cheaper house that's a little smaller, but brand new to save on taxes + we get a 10-year new home warranty.

I fvcked up my ankle today playing my weekly game of street hockey. Just casually going for a loose puck in the corner and I rolled my ankle. However, my ankle seems to be fine, but the side of my foot is swelling and hurting like a mofo, plus I can't move my toes. I'm hoping that sleeping it off will heal it up well enough for work.

Found a "bug" w/ the Vista sidebar tonight. If you have gadgets that update in real-time (i.e. clock w/ second hand, CPU/RAM meter, uptime monitor (3rd party)), the anti-virus continuously scans them, which obviously isn't good for performance. Never noticed it before today ...
