I kind of mocked up those dimensions and they fit snugly in my car but Im not convinced I would be able to fit it through the opening of the trunk... Also because of the way the trunk curves in the back the box would take up 90% of the trunk so I think I want to go down to the 12 just to have some excess space in the trunk. So the height is 17-18 max.. The width can go all the way up to 36.. I want the depth to be as short as possible (without jeopardizing performance) so i can have some room left in the trunk.. I still want flush mount and kerfed port and if it is necessary double baffle.. Thanks Now that I think about it, the ideal height would be 16.xx .. but 17 or so at max... I have problems on my sisters computer sometimes and it uses internet explorer... it will load the top portion of the page but nothing under the ads on the top.. but if I exit out and come back it usually works. However, on my computer i use firefox and never have a problem.

Honestly not sure.. I was going to see what Andrew had in mind since this is my first build.. do you have any suggestions?

Let me know what dimensions you come up with after adding the kerfed port, and I will kind of mock it up and see how it fits in my trunk... then I can see if the 15 fits, if not we can revise it to a 12.

Yea I really want to do it but with my abilities it is nearly impossible because the alternator is entirely under my engine and I can barely see a glimpse of it because it is hidden so well. Foreign cars ftw right...

Yea I plan on doing the big 3 but I am scared to do it myself because the alternator is in the most obnoxious place in my car.

What are your thoughts on how much power i should give them?

I think that I might run into some electrical problems in my new system that I'm currently putting together. I want to try and avoid it if I can to save money. I drive a 2000 Jetta VR6, it has a 120a stock alternator and this is my current battery My head unit is a Kenwood KDC-248u 4- Memphis PR 6.5's components in the doors My amp is an AQ1200d and this is where my first question comes in. I am looking at either getting 1 12 Icon, 1 15 Icon, or 1 12 Xcon. My question is should I play it safe and run them at 2ohms using ~870 watts or 1ohm using ~1200 watts. How much of a difference will there be in the sound and will it even avoid any electrical problems. My next question if there is any electrical problems what should I do first. Should I do the Big 3, replace stock battery, replace stock alternator, get a 1 farad cap, or get a back up battery? Thanks

When the new Icon is released I am going to get either 1 12 or 1 15. I want to try and go ahead and get the box built up soon since I have the money and so I dont have to wait later. I'm not sure how the specs on the new Icon are going to change and if their will be any new features that would change the build of the box, I was wondering what your opinion was on that. I want to try and go with a kerfed port if possible, and if i can fit it I want to go with the 15. Now that the Zcon and Xcon are now available, is there any expected timeline for the Icon?

I am looking to get an enclosure soon and I recently saw pictures of some khaotik enclosures. They look amazing so I did a little research about them. I saw that they had trouble with a lease or something and I believe they are currently trying to reopen. I was wondering if they were having any luck with this and when they might be open again because I would love to buy from them. Thanks

I am a little confused, I noticed the date this thread was posted so I am not entirely sure if this version of the ICON has been released yet.. So has this ICON been released yet or is it coming soon? and if it hasn't been released, are there any prices yet (I am interested in 12's) and an expected release date?

Go to the tech tab at the top of the website. The tech section has recommended enclosures for each subwoofer. I would recommend a ported enclosure for your 12" Icon. Make sure you have google sketchup downloaded so you can open the file. If I had to pick between those two amplifiers I would go with the Audioque. Basically you've told us nothing we can go on yet, if you need help understanding what we need there are a few links in my signature that will help I listen to rap, hip hop, dubsteb, tenchno music mostly... I want the system to be pretty loud but sound quality is important to me... like i said i am new to this so i guess im asking what are the different types of enclosures i have to pick from, what is going to be the best for me or the most popular one used, and where can i have one made or buy one from and how much will it cost. You obviously didn't read the links.... I think you want me to pick either SQ or SPL so Ill go with SQ Not at all, I want you to describe what you want WITHOUT using terminology like SPL or SQ. Again a read through the links would have made this OBVIOUS. I'll give you a hint, you'd hate an SQ setup. Still not exactly sure what you want but il give it another try... I want to get loud.. I want it to piss people off... I want it to impress people... but I don't want it so loud that it overshadows the rest of the song. I want to be able to feel the airflow but I've seen videos of the subbs shaking the front windsheild etc. and that isn't something that I'm interested in. Not sure if that is enough description but it is all I know right now because I am not 100% sure about what I want right now.
