what type of car should i get
so im selling all the stereo crap to buy a new car of my own. Right now I have a volvo 740, which we are still keeping, it just wont be my daily driver anymore. I want somthing that wont brake down and leave me places like my POS volvo. Also I want somthing faster then my volvo which is 2950lbs and 114hp, 138trq. It also needs to be somewhat safe, or I have to put a roll cage into it. Depending on the car I will put some money into it to make is handle better and faster. I want to spend like 2k or less on the car if i can. Some of them are cars I would make into rally cars and do light off roading with, others are cars I would just make fast. Cars I'm looking at: Baja VW Bug AMC eagle sx/4 Honda civic hatch Nissan 240sx Caprice 9c1 cop car I would love like a monte carlo ss from the 80's but I think they are to much, or a grand national. anyone else have ideas? has to seat 4 or more so 2+2 coupes are ok but no 2 seaters. Again the main thing is having somthing that WONT brake down. -aaron

Pic's of the Pimp'n Volvo :)
it "was" a toyo z800 ultra from les scwab. I know there not made for dirfting, and they are not at all made to stand up to going sideways, but its still very odd that is just kinda of all of a sudden blew. All the tires presures were checked before hand, the tires were about 8 months old and had about 6000 miles. What it looks like is the sidewall gave out kinda. the back side of the tire is all warped and crap. Also, the tread on that tire was starting to look how rubber gets after getting old, and the other 3 were looking fine. I think it might have had somthing to do with the tire. Its a rwd car and this was from the front driver side. 35mph, that really is not that fast......i was stupid for what i did though, it was dark out, and i know the place, and i knew that there were two sections to the pavement, and one was about 3 inches higher then the other. and of course i went into a drift with a passanger trying to show off, and not thinking I did it about 15 feet away from that gap, and I slid right over it....at first i thought it was just my like scraping on somthing and the skid plate under the car, but it was the wheel riding the gap between those 2 levels of pavement...i guess the title for this thread should be dont show off and drift.....i do kinda know what im doing, i was just not thinking....and now i have to pay for it....

Hey. thought id post up these pics lol. word of advice, DONT EVER DIRFT VOLVOS- OK, here's mine too
sweet, ive seen those pics of the install before, good stuff- Welcome Gnome
hey....how about info on snail shell boxes or whatever they are called, always wanted to know more about those- Pictures, Anyone?
sweet, thats some decent stuff, is that dual re8 box 1" wood or does it just look like that cuz its small?- Noob!
welcome....make sure to some often and POST!- Subs Amps or Enclosures A Vs B Vs C
x2 I agree with the general idea your trying to say, install is VERY important but the simple truth is with sub a vs b one sub is OVERALL better. To me, the most important thing in an a system, is the box the sub is in, but in order to decide on that box you need to know about the sub. You can take a Sony 10" that cost like $30 at best buy and make it louder then a RE XXX and sound better, but thats only if you dont fallow what the makers of these subs say to do, and when you talk about a vs b you have to asume your talking about the subs under what the specs say you can do with it.- THE BIG 3
Why not exchange the wire with something bigger? Just curious. I was always told not to, but honestly I dont see why not and Qckrun yeah get some pics up so people can see im not sure about this, but from what i know (which is not much) i would think that it would spark like a mother fudger. since even when your car is off, the alt is still in a active power flow with the batt and someone that keeps all the ciurcuts from being grounded. if you were to just have a - ground wire from the alt to batt then that flow would not be complete and everything on the car would turn on basicly...there more to it....but i dunno...- Memphis LVS.....
you can do the sub with with most subs....adire and re can do it i know....- basket ideas
Aside from a side view picture of it I have no idea . I've never actually had my hands on one. It looks awful bulky, looks like a big heat trap too. But as I say, I have never seen any close shots, or anything other than a side view, and I haven't been up close and personal with it. Even their site does a poor job of portraying the basket. Often times just a pic cannot display all the facts. But it is ugly And, AV man, you got some solid hate for Orion don't you? Wanna share why so much hostility? Orion and DEI make some great products. I am investigating a DEI 2500D to power up a pair of B12s actually. lol yeah...i came across wrong. I dont HATE the h2. I hate DEI for what they have done to PPI, Orion, and even viper and cliford. These companies were beter off before DEI started making them all use the same parts and stuff.- Super Subs
lol how about we get a new smilie thingy its a combo of:- basket ideas
its a POS imo lol. The only reason it is like how it is, is that they needed a basket that would hole the ENTIRE thing tight while they charged the magnet cuz DEI does not know how to use XBL^2.- Super Subs
a) your right about the power B) DEI stole it and uses it on one of there other subs, Orion did not steal it directly, there new owner did. Steal is not thr right word. Basicly Adire submitted the patents about 3 years ago and they will be passing soon. DEI submitted theres for what is basicly the same thing about 1 year ago. Adire can not do anything about it until there patent gets aproved, which will happen way before DEI's does. So until adire's patent goes through they cant really do anything about it, DEI is just trying to sell as many dualgap type subs as they can before adire owns the rights to it. -aaron- Cheap Super Subs
yeah, ive seen a proto at the shop. They will come in 8,10,12 and 15. they used XBL^2. The 10" I saw had 21mm one way, and that was a proto, and keep in mind, they will be in the 175-250 price range, so thats a damn good deal.- Cheap Super Subs
just wait till you get a real sub and you will see why people bash sony. neither the spl or sq even compares to most of these subs.- Super Subs
It has no pole vent but the vents by the top plate do the job.- Super Subs
RE MT. Loudest for daily driving, and in the right box it wont sound bad at all. It's a beast that is made to last. For the price (mid 400's) its a good value. - Pic's of the Pimp'n Volvo :)
