I am working on an SAE-50.4 and an SAX-250.2 for release sometime next year. The 50.4 may be sooner as it is a much higher demand piece. I have had protos for both... not sure that I am totally happy with either, so there will be revision before either is ready. A 6-channel is planned with no information on release time frame at all right now. I am thinking something like 75 x 4 and 125 x 2 for that one so you can bridge the "big" channels for a sub. If things go very well MAYBE towards the end of next year. As for a 6kw... that will have to wait a while, big amps like that are very costly and aren't big sellers. Not a good combo for a new company if you ask me. VERY few people even have electrical systems to support the SAZ-3000D properly. I've got a few sub lines I would like to build in between all this too... sorry, no information at this time. The current SD-1 is actually doing quite well and has suprised a few people Wow man, thanks for the reply! Neat info. My thought's behind the .6 were for a 3way active setup. I guess with level pots on each SET of channels, a couple "big" channels could power the midbasses. What about a 150.4 in a common heatsink with a 250.2......and a seperate SAX100.6 for the car theatre folks? Is the market for a 50.4 that much bigger than a 75.4 (or 100.4)? Is there that much difference in components? What about an uber-quality line? Same buildhouse, spare-no-expense on components?

We Todd did! Sofa King, we Todd did.
  3. Loud and low... 2 BL 12's ported. With NO options.* BL 12's look SICK! *options increase power handling....and you're gonna need all you have.
  4. And a BTL will handle 2kW more reliably than a BL...ceterus parabus
  5. My BTL with 4 cubes doesnt like much below 30hz...but it's tuned to 31hz so... If you're looking for LOWLOWS go with a Q or 2 sealed. If you want a ported 15...and you have 3.5 cubes...you aren't going to get the lowest of the lows.... Sorry, the laws of thermodynamics DO apply.
  6. I don't think YOU blew it in 5mins. Either the "Professionals" were screwing around with the sub (or you, or both)...or there's something we don't know. What amp did you blow this BTL with? What HU? ....and maybe some info about the offending shop.
  7. 1500 won't move 2 SSD's sealed the way you want...ported? If you want flat, go with a bigger Q. It would be cheaper to have your Q rebuilt to a 15". They are pretty flat with good SQ ported and sealed. What impedance is your q?
  8. The copper coil SSD's sound freaking great and LOVE the lowlows...but they dont hit the 45-up range as hard. They really shine as low end SQ monsters. I hope this doesn't sway you from the SSD as I love mine. Great SQ and takes more than RMS easily. Did I mention they sound GREAT???
  9. 5.5 is small for an 18...and WAY too small for 2x 15's. 15BTL would like 5.5...and you could always upgrade amps and get more output. If you go with BL's...you're about maxing out power and space. Basically, what are your plans for the future?

BL's fit the bill right now. BTL's are what you'll NEED with a 4kw to each. BTL's get loud with less than RMS.
  11. Need to know power available. LOTS of subs...all good. Fi or SI

    Amps I'd like to see. SAX100.6 SAE75.4 SAZ6000D SAX200.2
  13. dopey replied to Qbenjamin's topic in Fi Technical
FYI: BOTH of those amps are capable of sending >1000w to a 2ohm load.
  14. BTL. Will get LOUD on RMS wattage, and will be more resistant to slight abuse.

I don't know anything about poison or whatever...but I can take a picture if need be. Thanks. I'm not going to sell it...I just wanna know. I really want to put it on a set of midbasses.
  16. Anyone have mounting depth info on new vs. old 6.5s?
  17. dopey replied to jrs_2007's topic in Fi Technical
Station wagons are big and get loud.
  18. Not a bad choice in the bunch.

    Can't be mentioned enough.
  20. Don't like what? Not liking something and not having something work are different things...doesn't matter how much someone likes Fi, if the BTL isn't the right driver for a specific installation, that's that. You mean a BTL isn't PERFECT for everyone and every install everywhere? I'm just not sure I understand how, in a discussion of SPL, a BTL could be "not the right driver for a specific intallation". If all your saying is "Some people have 150 watts for their SPL sub, so a BTL wouldn't be a good choice, a funky pup would." Then we're saying the same thing...but if you're saying "Some people just can't make BTL's loud" then I have to respectfully disagree.
  21. Uder what circumstances would a BTL not work, where a XXX would?
  22. Ok. If you just have the one fuse in the front...and you ground out in the middle...the front fuse pops cutting power from the front battery, but since there is no fuse in the back, the back battery will still power a meltdown. Fuse every battery positive wire, if the wire is covering any real distance.
