  1. OK, my HU has 3 sets of outs. Which set goes to tweets and which to mids? Does it matter?
  2. But I'm not on the SSA Tech team. And for good reason. I would go thru $100 of my time, and approx $50 in materials. Trust me. MDF, Router bits....etc...
  3. I could also make my own amps. I've done it before. But the cost/benefit just isn't there. Same goes for speakers...
  4. I'm not sure an MDF baffle would fit...pretty tight. (I' know I can make it however I want...but the speak is a 6.75, and space is tight above, and below) I'll see once the speaks get here. For $20, crutchfield makes some that are made for my car. Not sure which way I'll go...but I'm leaning towards premade. I'm paid >$20/hr at my job, and I know I'd take at least an hour making those...just a cost/benefit thing. And BTW...the surround is glued straight to the spacer. Uberghey.
  5. Instead of most recent topics, I'd LOVE to have topics I've posted in where I haven't read latest post.
  6. meter on driver=port on passenger meter on passenger side=port driver side = Put the speakers on the same side as the mic. that means i have too flip the boxx Or just turn the car around.
  7. I'm too lazy to A. Look down this page a bit to see the other 8 questions asking the EXACT SAME THING. & B. Use the search function. & C. Go read the stickys at the top of the page that list recommended enclosures for all of Fi's subs. ...so I figured I'd pollute the board some more with my "problem" that really isn't a problem, and doesn't need anymore discussion. Thank you.
  8. What kind of music will you be playing? Rock and radio type crap...40hz will be ok. IIRC FM radio wont carry signals below 40hz anyway. Rap and hip hop (cd) 35 would be better.
  9. I used to have a Toyota 4runner. The only speakers up front were 4"mids that were on the lower dash facing your shins. Sweet soundstage there.
  10. meter on driver=port on passenger meter on passenger side=port driver side = Put the speakers on the same side as the mic.

I'd say the amp is the culprit. probably dc leaking into the signal...I've had problems with crappy a/b amps doing that.
  12. My speakers are installed with RIVETS!!! Now I get to drill those out, then buy some adapter plates just to install new ones.
  13. NVM...5cubes gross is ~4cubes net. @33hz. Back to 15" BTL....loaded.
  14. 1x18" BTL ported. A bit shy of perfect...but good and loud. And cheaper than 2x12 or 2x15. However....2x15" Q's would be damn nice. It really doesn't matter...you'll be MORE than happy either way.
  15. Low power, hi Xmax(Xmag, Xmech), high effeciency. Usable in Large ported, large sealed, or Infinite Baffle. Total SQ.....with xmax.
  16. I'm in Bentonville (WalMarts hometown). Got an alarm, and besides I am never more than 50ft from my alarmed car. I've got a Fi BTL 15" Loaded in 4 cubes tuned to 32hz. It's powered by a saz1500d on stock electrical...for now. 147.4 db so far. Soon, I'll put the Excessive Amperage 200+ alt in, add the OTHER saz1500d to the sub, and put the sax100.4 on my new CDT mids and highs I got from steamhammer.
  17. Ok, so I just ordered CDT 6.75" M6 Mid's, and CDT DRT-25's tweets, for my front (and only) stage. A buddy of mine is a rep, so I went with him.
  18. That's F-N awesome!
  19. That's what the guy wanted. I would have preferred to do a single port along the bottom as it would have been easier. I normally use subwoofertools for most boxes, but had to do this one the "hard" way. I used this calculator: http://www.carstereo.com/help/Articles.cfm?id=31 Once you have the port size you calculate how much space it will take up inside the box, then go from there. Good info, thanks!
  20. NWA=Northwest Arkansas I go to dallas occasionally...A buddy used to live there...good shopping...bought my car from Rusty Wallace VW. We don't have much of a car audio scene around here...and I'm more than a little leery about showing off my system in a town I park in.
  21. The difference between the Merlin MD1 and the XT 2000d. First of all, the XT series is a traditional class

Any plans to divest yourself of Fi, ala RE? Are you using the XBL^2 for Fi subs? Are you using SGLC, LGLC, or Underhung? I guess I could wait till I recone...It's not that important...just curious. Thanks.
  24. That 16x12 box is teh gayz. Good job LB! Where's the hunny's you always pose with? They're a big part of why I like your posts so much. J/K I'm up in NWA, I hope I see you next year at some comps. You ever get up to Fort Smith/Tulsa/OKC?
