  1. Yea I know what you mean, just off to the side with my friends, but the way this thing gets, im going to have to be a block away for nobody else hears it. Yea the sticker looks nice, representing the Fi.
  2. Yes very nice build. I will do a follow up video at 1/2 again, and then a little more to see what your talking about Shawn. Can't wait to show it off at school tomorow!
  3. The SSD is getting 800 rms recomended) to it now. The box is 36 wide 21 deep and 15.5 high. It is 3.5 cubes tuned to 33 hz. The only options that are avalible for the SSD are flatwind and coper coil. You obviously cant get both, and like the review said I got flatwind. And sorry, no pictures of the motor, but it's the same as the one on the site.
  4. Haha nice^^^ Anyways, I just wrote my review and should qualify. Let me know if you need me to re-e-mail you my info. My name is Kyle Obright, and I recently bought a 15" SSD.
  5. Hey guys, Well as expected, when I got home from school there was a present waiting for me from Fi. Customer Service First off, I would like to thank Scott, Nick, and all the guys "behinde the sceens" at Fi. They helped me from the day I wanted an Fi, untill the day it as on my doorstep. Although they are very busy, they still make sure you get your questions answered. 10/10 A+ Shipping/Packaging As expected, Fi is very busy with their evergrowing popularity. My 2-3 day rated build time took about 7 days. When it did come, the packaging was great. The sub was not going anywhere with the blue hard foam (see pics), and it was very secure. Box was not damaged at all, and overall, the sub came in perfect condition. 9/10 A- Install All in all, the install went well. I built my box the week before recieving the subs, so they would be ready when it came in. I also used the same amp as my last set-up, so that was ready. After getting a few diagrams of how to wire it, it was a very painless process (pretty rare in car audio installs ). The only difficult part about the install was mounting the sub. It did not come with mounting screws, and it was pretty hard to find screws thin enough to fit through the hole, yet not go through the wood. 3 stores and a couple stores later, I found some that would work. The magnets are very heavy, so it wasn't going anywhere, but when I bumped it up pretty high the sub started to move around in its sub up, port out location. I mounted it and that was that. 9/10 A- Now to the Woofer... Sound Quality I heard some member refer to the SSD as beefy... and I could not agree more. It hits lows so well. My box is tunned to 33hz, and it rattles like crazy. True story, I was driving home from work, and I decieded to turn it up about 2/3 of the way, im driving for about 5 seconds, and my rear view mirror falls off. How many single 15" set-ups can do that? The cone moves so well, very crisp and sharp, not a tone gets past this guy. The best SQ I have heard on a sub that gets that loud. 10/10 A+ Loudness/SPL There is definately no lack in loudness to make up for great SQ. the $$D gets very loud on my a8002v amp. The port blows out air like it is it's job. I have already goten pulled over twice for a "noise violation" but fortuanely the cops were cool (one being my friends dad), and just asked to check out the system. On songs like "Da Blow" and "Woofer Cooker", my friends turned down the volume because "My d/-\mn ears are going to blow up!!!", AKA, just the reaction I was looking for . I got the extra flatwind so it could handle a little more, but this sub is so solid, and if you are giving it rated power, you may just be fine. I did it because I like to mess with bass boost, and I may upgrade my amp in the summer. For a daily sub, there is nothing better. 10/10 A+ ~I will let a video at 1/2 volume speak for itself, (even though videos can't capture good subwoofer sq)~ http://s121.photobucket.com/albums/o212/KO...ooferBox080.flv Overall grade: 9.6/10 for a Solid A If you have any questions feel free to ask. KO
  6. I have had a coupl pairs of subwoofers that have come with screws. The "sets" probly threw you off, my bad.
  7. I have had a couple of sets that have come with screws. Like I said, it was no big deal, just hard to find a screw that would fit through the lower part of the hole.
  8. The $$D came yesterday, all I can say is WOW! Very nice all around sub. Still not done setting my gains, but it is by far the best sub I have heard, granted I have nto heard many, but still. Another satisfied customer from Fi! I will write up a review thread after work today. Only problem is, there are no mounting screws included. Is this how it always is, or did I just miss out? I bought some screws for $2 that worked, but it was very hard to find because they have to be so thin, yet not go through the box. The magnet weights about 18lbs anyway, so it was not going anywhere, bur when I saw it moving I figured I would screw it down. Thats the only "complaint", but the sub itself is great.

I have seen a 15" SSD + flatwind handle 1500, so I would asume the Q+flat could also, but make sure with Scott before you mark my words.
  10. Do we have any pics of the shirts or stickers?
  11. ^^^ Not wanting to hijack thread, just a paint comparison.
  12. Very nice box! I recently spraypainted my port, yours looks very nice, very similar to mine, but mine is spraypaint.
  13. Somebody needs to take vids!!!
  14. Agreed with M5... But what do you want it tuned to...about 37 after displacement? Let me know and i'll hit you up with plans.
  15. In a well built enclosure, it will get realy low and retain SQ, same goes for any Fi product from SSD to BTL.
  16. Looks liek a nice design, however 3/4 MDF is very hard to bend (maybe imposible) at an almost 90 degree angle. Even if it is fibreglass reinforced it would be hard to do. Something to think about. KO
  17. Sweet set up, that box covering looks perdy!
  18. Looking good ...Should hit at least 180-185 !
  19. Sweet news man! My 15" SSD+Flatwind shoudl be here Friday. Post pics, and let me know how your friends like it so I have something to look forward to!
  20. Thanks a ton, Supposed to be here Friday, very cool, have ir ready for the weekend, and ost importantly broken in by spring break!
  21. Bump...anything guys?
  22. What do you mean who am I? Who are you? I thought it could attract members to the forum. I know if I could get some information on how my sub is doing from a website, I would sign up. It is a little bit of work for Fi, but who are you to say it was a bad idea. Is your life realy that bad, that you have to rant on people online? Im going to drop it and let it be, this forum is great now, and doesn't need people arguing and bumping their threads. KO
  23. Thanks a ton Scott. Your great (and all the guys at Fi's) customer service never fails to amaze me. If you could please let me know how my sub is going, (if it shipped, even better) it would be great. Let me know, and thank you. KO (By the way, congradulations to the Fi member that had a baby)
  24. Did you use anything special for painting the port, or just spraypaint? Im thinking of doing it to mine, I always thought it looks nice. Plus I have forest green carpet to match my car, and If I painted it the same color I think it would look nice. Let me know.
  25. Yea, my 16 year old mind takes over sometimes... I know you guys are putting in a ton of hours to keep your customers happy. And I live in Chicago. It took my money order 5 days to get there. So 5 days to get my sub back to me sounds right. And its not the fact that I don't have it, but the fact that UPS says they still haven't recieved the package to ship. Im sure everything will be alright, just want to make sure. A $230 sub means a lot to a kid that works for 7.40 and hour, coming from Rockford P1's!
