  1. i love the sound of my XXX's sealed.... box was ~2.6 per side and i was running 2k to a single woofer
  2. lol nah thats sorta what i was assuming but wanted to clarify... thanks for the help im probably going to go with either the peerless sls,hds or cdt 06+
  3. wait what? sealed is the best of both world or IB? I have enough power for whatever i need no problem
  4. never actually installed any yet. i have 3 sheets waiting thou. Not sure if im crazy but im going to use my first sheet underneith the vinyl on my sub box cover sheet. So ill get the nice foam feel with the vinyl and maybe a bit of filtering as well
  5. cool ill check em out. Running IB actually is a much easier to get the pods done so if the drivers prefer IB then im more then happy running them like that
  6. hmm probably was a different issue at that point then. I was just stating what ive seen myself.
  7. surprisingly im not so concerned with space because my doors seriously have it. To be 100% honest i dont want to use the hxs because i know they wont work so well as true midbasses BUT i dont know chit when it somes to diy stuff and the only midbasses ive sorta tried messing with have freq ranges like a midrange speaker. Im still sorta a noob but im thinking ~250 to 80hz is good. Honestly i really want to be able to hear ~100 to 90hz well and get that punch it gives. So far i havent really found anything to give me that and i originally got the RF 8s because of the whitesheet specs and power handling (plus back then i was very obsessed with fosgate... i still like the company but i realize there are other options) and when i tested them in a random jvc ported home theater box running full range the midbass (100hz or so) was there instead of lacking like im used to. The cdt 07s sounded like complete crap running full range or low crossover so right now i have the deck at 100hz and ~ the same at the amp. Maybe its just me being anal but i can seriously hear the gap from the bass to the midrange (especially now with the better mids they get louder)
  8. like JIMJ says... install is everything. with what you have i think you should be pretty happy. 3sixty.2 is NIIIICE! two should be awesome... nice 4 way setup? actually i got 2 mainly for the midbasses... so i can do active 3 way
  9. my friend just did a setup with a kenwood single din and spliced his own power (HDD wasnt able to fully run with the lower amps the kenwood usb had) he loves it and said longest wait time so far has been ~30 secs
  10. yup but i belive all the pioneers have that issue. Unfortunatly alot of not so smart people tend to come back with the noise issue
  11. badass thats really pretty close to what my setup would eventually be assuming i got them. i have some 360.2 processors as well so thought i would ask
  12. not sure if overides the correct word... more like tricks assuming it works. Sorta reminds me of the "preformance chips" that fool the maf and drop all the fuel it can in your engine but it doesnt really make power and after a week or so the maf figures out whats going on
  13. just soder a wire from the rca to the unit chassis and noise goes away. or pull the thing apart and replace the fuse or whatever nonsense is in there
  14. ya hows ur setup now? crossovers? sealed?
  15. oh im not sure if sound dampening was considered in ur preping but there will be something done on the doors in a big way once i get speakers and pods situated
  16. if i dont find anything better im going with a fosgate HX2 8 since i already have a pair. i dont think anything can be bigger then that. They will be in a pod of some sort and i want something sealed not IB (i think unless someone has better ideas) but not a ported setup. I also have acess to both the HD and ES 06+ drivers but ive been told they want a small ported box. Also i will be getting acess to a bunch of cdt nonsense coming soon so if they have another setup that might be better im all ears
  17. I recently decided on CDT ES-07s as my midrange speakers but i was looking for suggestions on a beefy midbass. THe cdts lack much more midbass then my last speakers but the midrange sound is awesome. anyone played with morel or any diy speakers?
  18. i hope it doesnt require the remote.... Im downloading it now
  19. cool thanks... im also going to try blowing out the acutal cd mechanism (its not bad but has a bit of crust in it)
  20. well its supposed to... Model number is the CQ-DVR909U I dont have the manual so i cant check that but it says on the face dvd-audio and specs on the net list it as compatable. Manufact date is June 2000
  21. anyone know of where i can get a Head Unit repaired at? I have an older panisonic that i bought solely to play dvd-audio and it wont read either of the 2 dvd-a discs i have... it plays cds and dts fine but not dvd-a
  22. also i barely would have enough 2/0 for a second run. So assuming i do a second run of wire should i use it for that run and connect my 2 batteies in the back with 1/0? or what should i do there? I dont think i can find any more fosgate 2/0
  23. I was wondering if i should do another run of wire from the alt to the bat? This is for my second alt to the batteries in the trunk. Right now i have a single T30001bd amp and a single run of 2/0 and i was looking at getting a second T30001bd amp. If i go ahead and get the second amp should i do a second run of wire?
  24. yup. unless you have a bad repair guy
