Question for Sundownz
Oh of course. I am pretty mechanically inclined. I've rebuilt every car I've owned, so reconing shouldn't be a problem.

Question for Sundownz
So I'll need to ship you the driver? Don't know if I can be without my jams for that long :*( Guess that'll give me time to assemble the box I designed and get it in the new car

No sadly enough. I would like to attend an event or two, and see what all classes there are and learn as much as I possibly can. Competing is not ANYWHERE in my near future, but I would like to be well prepared, and to have fun

Question for Sundownz
Hey Jacob and the Sundown crew, I had a question that (due to my wording...) may have kept from yielding and useful topics in the searchbar. I have a Nightshade V1 12, and was wondering if it would be beneficial or even feasible to re-cone to a V2. Still on my learning curve about driver components and what does what, but is this a recommended idea? Would YOU do it? Didn't know if it would yield grand results, or if I should just go with a V1 re-cone. Thanks a million!

That'll get his attention for sure. Just remember not to bump in residential areas, because I'm all for a LOUD setup, but if I'm relaxing and my windows start shaking... I'm ready to shoot first, ask questions later. Gotta be a golden rule somewhere about that... At any rate, I wonder if I could upgrade my V1 with V2 soft parts....

Well, that's like how Memphis is 'oooh' and 'aaaah' to all the kids around here. I had one actually ask me to trade his power-reference for my sundown... I lol'd, and preceded to hurt his feelings after he got pissy and said that his 10's could outhit my one 12. He tucked his tail between his legs and cowered away. All on a track that I made. Hmmm... I think I'll stay with Sundown. I'm currently saving up to get a 1500D (any gen) and to upgrade my alt from 90a, to 120+, then I'll use some of my spare 4g hotwire from a previous setup and upgrade my big 3. After the box, and all of what I have planned, He could have 30 of those cheap Memphis 10's and I'll still blow his doors off. Not saying at all that it would hit 'One-ninety Dee Beeeez!!!' but it'll definitely sound better, and look better than his setup. The war has started! I agree, although the standard chrome would offer a bit of a contrast from the all black. I plan to get my artist logo stitched into the lid for my power compartment, since the sub enclosure is going to be completely sealed.

Definitely, Since the box is gonna be wrapped in black imitation leather, should I go with fans with regular chrome grills or black chrome, assuming I can find any?

Anyone want to see my designs thus far? Albeit they are a bit amateur, and I haven't had the time do determine Cu. ft. in the enclosure area, but here they are! From rough draft to current! Thoughts? Opinions?

Probably not, My Scort needs a LOT of work. Going to make a full custom interior, gotta reattach the exhaust, tack it up, adjust my camber for the 18's, and get my built in box BUILT . It'll take me a LOT of time to build it, but I have a friend who works with high quality MDF, and they discard sheets (15'x30') because of a blemish on the corner, or various other imperfections. I may have to sift through a few sheets to find a few good ones, but it's free . Free is the best price of all!

Thanks y'all! I'm trying to build a better box, and get a better amp to push the sub. What programs do you guys recommend for CAD so that I can build a suitable box for my car? I can't explain it... I'd have to draw it.

Which album do you enjoy to listen the most in your car?
That's actually pretty cool.

I'm currently on a Datsik and UKF kick. Dubstep for the win!

Anyone Ever seen this sub??
Agreed. This is going to sound REALLY cheesy, but I named my son after them. Cadence Jace. So sue me... Wait... they might!! But seriously. They make some decent quality stuff. The 34" sub is more like the Marilyn Manson of bass drivers: 'Hey look at me!!' I got to thinking... This sub would fit in my hatch if the depth were more adequate. My hatch is 38w x 30d x 14h (14 with the hatch cover, give or take an inch or two without). Just FYI...

@ Steveo50 - There sure are a couple MS people here! I hate this town, it's such a culture shock from Fayette'nam NC. I was born and raised primarily here, but on a coolness scale, this town gets a -2. @ Watts09 - I lol'd at your avatar picture. That's awesome. At any rate, thanks! It'll look better when I get done. The wife is a SQ nut, and I'm all about SPL. So the car will be outfitted with a TrueBass Solutions 8" sub, 300W Mono, and whatever components I can find that will sound equally as clean and crisp. These cars have a LOT of interior plastics, and I can't give away the true secret to the box I'm building for it, but it's going to be show quality for the stuff I've seen in these parts. No screens... yet... But I have (in my mind) a plan for an integrated sub box, amp containment unit, and tool storage (for whatever my heart desires) and the amp and tool storage will be stealth-stored. Won't know it's there unless you built it, helped build it, or I show you . If I don't go the TB route (Can get the sub and amp for 110.00...) I'll DEFINITELY go Sundown, which may be the way to go since they make an 8" driver as well. Again, thanks for all the warm welcomes, and I plan to lurk around a bit and learn as much as I can. With that said, if you don't hear much from me, I'm busy being the sponge that I am.

Sundown SD-2 "500-watt" Line Photos
Wow... I think a subtle, yet suitable nickname for it should be: God-mode. Pretty freakin tough! Any luck on trying to destroy such a work of art? Also, is the clicking I hear the sub bottoming out, or is it something else? Wicked beastmode dudes, I'm grinning so hard right now!

I have family in Jackson, some I've never met (Grandparents) So that sounds like an awesome idea! I need to get my 'showcar' (umm lolz) < Sorry, had to... It slipped, I swear! Anyways... I need to get the showcar running and get a setup in it, Might put 4 SA12's in it, just to support the Sundown guys, and try to make an event. I've never competed before, so I have no idea, but a guy I work with used to be a dealer for Sundown in MS (Corinth in case you guys read this... I need to contact you Sundown guys asap) and he is trying to educate me on the ins and outs of car audio. Beyond the shadetree stuff that kids do in their spare time. All I really need as of right now is a proper box, and I've been researching A LOT on the12volt.com, and I've learned a lot of useful information. I had a question, and it may be laughed at, but go ahead and get a chuckle on this: Is there a way to enjoy car audio without breaking the bank? A way to make a successful living from it? I've wanted to do something of the like for a while and never really had a lot of people to talk to since the town I live in is rather dull, and there is nothing here. There is one audio shop, and they deal mostly, if not all, in Memphis' line of audio, and not even the good stuff. I'll have to look up the regs on what it would take to get my own shop started, but are there any pointers you vets can offer? I'm a sponge right now, and I don't want to be mounting and balancing tires for Walmart for the rest of my life. I want to do something where I can meet new and interesting people, do something I enjoy, and make money doing so. Thanks in advance!

The fact you sell Recone Kits made my day. Thank you Sundownz.

Sorry. I've been drinking (a lot) just a little bit, I meant 'Not sealed', but as I said, I've had a few drinks and I get a bit confused... I want something that SA would approve of in my car. I want to turn it up for my friends (and enemies) and be able to say: "Sundown approves this box". I won't build anything out of specs, and would be willing to use whatever sealing agent they suggested. Sorry for the novice question, just looking for something out of the norm.

^ That.... I have owned Cadence subs before and for street gear, the CVLW122's performed pretty well. I had about 400W going to each on a KX800.4 (old one) and for what it was, it sounded pretty good. I had no complaints. Then again.... different strokes for different folks.. The 34" doesn't appeal to me, because I would like to conserve SOME space if I can. I bet my one 12 could make that one look like an expensive over-compensator.... Oh wait... It already did . Either way, I think it was a big 'Hey look at me!', and not the most practical application that they could have ever come up with.
