  3. Hey guys, it's been awhile... anyway, i traded in my component speakers and selenium supertweeters for earthquake sound midbass drivers and supertweeters +$40 @ my local audio store. at first i thought it was a good deal (i felt i had to much high's with the supertweeters and tweeters off component set..) so i'm thinkin.. mids in front, highs in back, lows in trunk. yeah! but now idk lol what do you guys think of this setup? mids and highs are powered by my kicker zx 350.4 and my sa10 is powered by my kicker zx 400.1 (underpowered, i know.) i installed the earthquake supertweeters but i havent installed the mids yet, i will do that tomorrow.. as for the highs, they sound just as loud as the selenium supertweeters (same wattage) my opinion on earthquake sound so far is good. they sound really good in my opinion. my friends didnt notice they were different (they look just like the seleniums) its the earthquake sound sbt200 . is earthquake sound like a knockoff selenium?
  4. Ooh I'll definitely buy a pair of these. These will beat my component set hands down.
  5. Any update on my shirts Derrick? Sorry, my friend has been bugging me about his shirt. I ordered the two purple shirts one size small, one size large. Thanks!
  6. Eh, it's not wasting in my opinion. Not looking for a big sound system
  7. Dont waste the money. Use it for your sound system, I got time..
  8. I'll make a build log on my civic, it's gonna be pretty awesome. Performance, audio, body. Etc.
  9. That's also what some of my friends suggested.. I'm going to experiment.. I'll get the PIAA replacement bulbs and show it here, get some opinions on it and if it's pretty bad, I guess HIDS won't hurt. HIDS will look right after i get a nice body kit done. I just don't have money for repaint just yet
  10. Well I don't want flickering lights..
  11. why you lie!!! PIAA have a blue colored bulb and are almost always higher wattage, so they burn white... Problem with them is you notice lots of flickering during bass notes... LOTS!!! Those things look like a bag of smashed arsehos. Why you say that?
  12. Sweet. Yeah I'll make sure it's the right bulb lol. I believe mine is H4.... I'd have to look into that lol. So what do you mean the light flickers every bass note?
  13. Oh. I thought higher the wattage, the brighter the light lol. I'm Lookin at the piaas, could it be as simple as replacing bulbs?
  14. So if I replaced my stock bulbs with these http://www.shopatron.com/products/productdetail/part_number=PIA10904/353.0 Would it not be yellow? If I just plug and play? Any more I'd have to do?
  15. Well dang, lol. Would a low wattage HID kit not be blinding to the eye? I just hate stock bulbs! My ranger had a 10k HID kit, but I knew I was disturbing to oncoming traffic lol. Something like 2k?
  16. Hey everyone, I'd like to know if there is an alternative to changing the color of my headlight without HIDs. I'm not a fan of HIDs because they tend to hurt my eyes when I see people driving so I wouldn't want to do that to others. But what I do want is to not have the stock "yellowish" light and have a different color like blue, white, etc. What's a good alternative that isn't so expensive?
  17. thanks everyone. its crazy how the battery rack in my civic is so small! can fit at most is h=9 d=5 w=9. of course if i did some modifications i can fit bigger but not too crazy on that lol.
  18. Aw, in the future I was going to purchase an orphan 8 to compare against other 8 inch drivers. I wish nothing but the best for you in whatever you do, and I hope everything will be smooth sailing. Good luck!
  19. quick question do you think running a kinetik 800 under hood and a kinetik 2000 in trunk is bad? because they are different sizes and stuff?
  20. im running the coaxials off the headunit, soon as the kicker components come in, ill install those and have them wired for an amp, which i dont have yet lol.the previous owner of the civic abused the speakers because every single one of them is blown, i can barely hear the stock tweeters, the 6x9s in the back sound horrible, so i just unplugged them.
  21. i see.. thanks man. yeah, the coaxials are temporary, like, another week temporary. just bought a kicker component set a second ago. as far as sq, lol i never heard decent sq in my life. SQ is relative, but I really ment I don't know what signal they are receiving and actually playing/ ohhhh i thought you were making fun of putting coaxials there.. lol. erm, doesn't sound too bad although i'm sure if the coaxials were to stay they'd eventually become blown.
  22. oh cool, then my plan is gonna work out! thanks man. still trying to get your amp man! this time for my sub stage, my sundown 100.2 is fxckin up
  23. Hi everyone im going to be running a kicker component set for my front stage and in my back seat i will have selenium super tweeters the component set is 4 ohms, but the super tweeters are 8 ohms, the component set is 100rms per pair (driver and tweeter) and the super tweeters are 100rms each. i plan to buy a sundown 100.4 now for the speaker system. is it ok to run everything per channel? what ohm load would everything be? i assume 4ohm and is that ok for the supertweeters? this all sounded good in my head but now physically its lookin a mess lol... please dont judge my decision to get supertweeters, i know i will enjoy them.. this would be my first build with supertweeters thats why im a little bit confused. would it be better to run the component set and supertweeters separately on different amps? thanks guys.
  24. i see.. thanks man. yeah, the coaxials are temporary, like, another week temporary. just bought a kicker component set a second ago. as far as sq, lol i never heard decent sq in my life.
  25. Hey everyone, just bought a 96 honda civic ex coupe.. looking to upgrade my door speakers. this model vehicle has a component speaker system with a 6.5" midbass driver and 2" tweeters.. I'm wondering if these are hooked up to a crossover because I can't find one in the car.. And is it worth it to keep the crossovers (if there are any) and just upgrade the tweeters and midbass? and one more question is temporarily i have some pioneer 6.5 coaxials hooked up to where the midbass drivers would be, so far they sound good running off the headunit but should i not do that because im supposed to use a midbass driver?
