  1. Ok.. So what if my batteries both have a AH rating below 100? Is it bad to get em a bigger fuse my main one is 60AH and my rear battery is 20AH.
  2. And what fuse size do you guys recommend? I will be running 1/0 wire to everything and it's a 1500 RMS amp and the batteries are 1500 cranking and 850 cranking. Thanks
  3. Alright everything isstsrting to sound good lol. The batteries I plan to get are the shuriken 1500 cranking amp battery for my starter, and for the rear the shuriken 850 cranking amps. Will those batteries do it? I don't know much about battery power.
  4. If you truly have to "monitor" your voltage I'd suggest turning your gains down or upgrading your alt. Being in a situation where monitoring is required isn't acceptable. I'm going to get the volt meter otherwise. I just would like to know my volt level while I'm bumpin which I really hope won't be low with this setup I'm trying to figure out
  5. What I'd like to know is will having two batteries make the alternator work harder? I don't plan on bumpin with my car off so as long as the car is running, the alternator should provide power to my batteries if needed? And do you guys recommend isolators and relays
  6. Anyone know the stock alternator amps on a 03 maxima?
  7. First off, thanks everyone on your input it all really helps And about the stress on the alternator, edouble, are you saying that running a pos and neg wire from starting battery to rear battery will sort of lessen the stress on the alternator? I plan on doing big 3 with 1/0 gauge wires, I will fuse every pos, and my car will power a saz 1500 at 1 ohm, maybe 0.5. I will have the batteries mentioned earlier (shurikens) and might upgrade alternator if it's too low (idk my alternator amps but will check)
  8. First off, thanks everyone on your input it all really helps And about the stress on the alternator, edouble
  9. I've watched over and over on YouTube how to wire two batteries in a car. I'd have one as my main starter battery and one in my trunk. Do I just have the positive from my main battery go to the positive on my second battery? (fused of course) and the negative just go to the ground and I'm all set? And another question, having this battery setup, will it put more stress on my alternator? Thanks I appreciate the help.
  10. oh ok that makes sense. thanks. you answered my question
  11. do all amps take more power then they output? hm my bad i didnt know that.
  12. oh of course , im not saying im trying to show off. its actually going to be a lil competition between me and my other friend to see who has the better setup with same amp, different sub. but no definitely not trying to show off. i understand that i need power for power, im just looking for something that doesnt ask for as much power.. like the hifonics, those amps took more juice then they put out.. id like a amp that reasonably doesnt take alot of juice, like more than it outputs. ya kno?
  13. id rather not upgrade it because that is a big cut from my budget, i mean ,i might later but for now no. lol sorry man but this would be my first "good" build. i had two 12" kenwoods and got stomped on by my friend's 18" incriminator. its about to be my senior year and id like a pretty good setup without the big pricetags
  14. trueee. i want to be on a pretty good budget and want to know what i can get my moneys worth. im still in high school but want a pretty good setup. would i have to upgrade my alt (150amps) for the saz 1500?
  15. ...what if i wanted to go below 1 ohm..
  16. ohh ok. i plan on buying the saz 1500 and have it at 1 ohm for one sundown nightshade or z v2 (havent decided yet) do any of you guys have experience with this amp and how well it works at 1 ohm?
  17. Well for my starter battery i was gonna get the shuriken 1500 cranking amps and for a second battery i was going to get the shuriken 850 cranking amps. and 0 gauge for big 3. that should all be enough for a saz 1500 right?
  18. true true. but i mean hifonics was a real voltage drainer. i wanna know if sundown amps are efficient. sorry if my question is weird i just dont know how to say it lol. i will do big 3 and have two batteries but dont plan on upgrading alt. my alt is 150 amps. I agree caps are worthless i was just stating the setup my friend had.
  19. I'm just curious. I know personally Hifonics takes up ALOT of power. But do Sundown amps do? Lets say i wanted one 15 inch sundown nightshade and power it with a saz 1500. if i were to power it with a hifonics brutus 1400 < i know that id need a cap or second battery or both and alt upgrade but i just want to know in general do sundown amps take alot of power? just for personal preferences i have a 03 nissan maxima and will be replacing battery and buying a second one. but i wouldnt want an amp that takes alot juice. i know, amps should because they are producing so much power but i know personally hifonics takes up alot of juice, i had to go through 2 batteries in a year, (although they were walmart batteries.) and i read reviews that hifonics amps takes up alot of power thanks.
  20. Learned alot there. thanks.
  21. i guess. .. nvm. lol
  22. whoa whoa. i dont know much about sound deadening but im just pitchin my 2 cents. my friend used peel and seal and it made a difference compared to nothing.. im not saying its better than anything you guys have mentioned but is certainly cheap. just saying.
  23. it makes a difference. I mean, im not talking about competition difference but it is a little bit of difference. my buddy sealed his trunk with peel and seal and the trunk doesnt rattle annoyingly anymore. he has two sundown 10" nightshades on a saz 2500
  24. Just remember man, youll feel so happy when that delivery comes in lol.
  25. Yeah man im sorry about what happened. i hope everything will work out ok.
