hay thanks for the help I'll look into the ez locks. now I haven't had a prob. with the screws striping out but rather the heads breaking off when I really crank it. I found some 1/4" X 2" lag screws and was thinking that they might work in stead of the wood screws what do you all think?

Ok I think that I'm close but here's what I have. http://www.subwoofertools.com/forum/ported...;Fs=&CE=1.5 the only differance is I want to put a 6" radius on the 3 outside corners of the box and the 1 side of the port how much will this change the box size and the tunning? I will also be making a plug for daily driveing. So just need to know if this should work or what I would need to change.

well here it goes one BTL 18 w/ cooling tuned to 32hz exile 2400.1 chev one wire 160 amp alt st. beats 140.7 and a 72' VW Bug
  10. Well did a 140.7 on street beats on the new ac mic but would like to get closer to the mid 140's and think that I should start with the box
  11. allright that sounds like a good idea but what would be the best box design for the car with the space available if you could post a design for a box that works best in a classic bug
  12. now it's at 32hz looking to go up to 36hz or so, as I use it as a daily driver the biggest the box can be is 36x33x20 and that will be pushing it.
  13. just like it says if someone has experience with a 72' bug and or a BTL 18 I am looking to redo my box and need design help. Please PM me on here. I just know I can get louder than 144 with a exile 2400.1 and a standard BTL with cooling. Thankx MC
  14. I had my BTL make that kind of a noise for one day did some adjusting on the amp and haven't heard it again but would also like to know what it is?

well I have a single BTL18 now and was wondering the smallest box that 2 could fit in or if I might want to look at 2 15's. I have 36X30 for a box now and wondering how tall I would need to make it to fit either 1 more 18 or 2 15's also would like the tuneing around 35. If someone can help with this it would shure help. Thanks
  17. well I had the same prob and found that the polk db comps were just under 2" if I remember right and they really don't sound to bad for the price

If I was to do this then it would be a crx style and the dementions would be 36X22X28 and would need help with the port to get it tuned to 36hz. the box I have now is 36x33x18 tuned to 32hz. any input would be great thanks guys. Also this is being pwered by a exile 2400.1 this is still in the 72' bug hope to have the 200amp alt by then MC
