		1 18q or 2 12q

By better do you mean spl or sq? Is there a way you could give one sub that 2kw? Is space an issue- because you will need more space to make that 1 18 happy than the 2 12s. Have you definitely narrowed it down to the q, or are you open to the bl?

Not really, the one I normally use is often wrong by a few inches, but it's here: http://www.carstereo.com/help/Articles.cfm?id=31 Again, I don't trust this 100%, so I'd just google it till you find one that seems right.

Got mine yesterday, looks great, terminals came in too. I was so sick/tired I didn't even think to open it. I should slap on one of those stickers when I feel better.

If you make the exterior dimension 39wx20hx15d, with a port (interior) 3.5wx18.5hx34l (about 65sqin of port) you should end up with around 4.15ft^3. You should probably run the port length through a good calculator, but I believe that will get you right where you want to be (30-33hz).

Local Car show -Gobs of Pics inside (56k warning)

Is that a Nash Metropolitan with MB headlights? It might be. I forgot what little was said when I was around most the cars, I just have the eye-candy left over. It appears to be imo, but I can't say for sure. I think they have a list of all the cars I might be able to get ahold of- I'll find out.

I really wish I had time to ask him, he came last year too, but I was only there for a few minutes last time. I was pressed for time this year too so I'll just have to wait to find out. Really nice looking though. Could've been brushed stainless, I don't know if the pic shows it, but it didn't have a polished look. Definitely nice. ... Now that I think about it my bro might've gotten a pic, I'll ask him tomarrow-maybe he got some info I didn't (and a front pic).

any other pics of this one? Thats my style, of course i'll never be able to afford even the cheapest of knockoffs Sorry, no. I was trying to get more but people were crowded around the front real bad (of course they moved to the sides as soon as I gave up), and the woman was ready to leave. It was stripped down to the bare metal, I wish I had had time to talk to the guy, cause I don't know how well the pic shows it, but it looked like it had alluminum panels... it was interesting.

OK, so there was a car show out here in Myrtle Beach SC last week. The weather was in the 70s, sunny, it was a nice show. Got a few pics, so I'm gonna post a few, hope you guys like 'em. Keep in mind it rained like crazy the whole day before, and the pollen is bad here, so few of the cars have clean looking paint-but I can vouch that it is. (on most cars)

		15" Q Review

Sorry to hear about that. I'm all about the street justice... Really though, if it's at your school I'd post some pics, and start asking around. Normally it's someone at your school who heard you thumpin, or just looked in your unlocked car. When you start asking its often someone who goes to school w/you and you can find him , and when you do you get a bunch of guys together and go get your chit back

		need new subs

x2 on the Q. Power's right, and they are supposed to really drop. I think you might be slightly underpowering a BL, and since you say you don't plan on upgrading amps, the Qs sound like exactly what you want.

		Scott, Nick, Any one...

I don't think putting the port that close to the rear wall is a good thing, but would anyone with more experience in that area chime in? I was considering doing this in order to get more cuft in my yukon, but was told something about it being negative, I would reference before but I believe it was lost.

		BTL help

a guy is selling crossfire 4000ds on termpro.com forum for 750, might be able to talk him down to 700 shipped... can't hurt to ask. That'd be really nice. Don't quote me, but I think 2 sundowns will run you around $800 new, but I'd ask denim. I just checked and the massive is stable at 2 ohm, you need 1ohm, so that wont really work The cheapest thing would be to get a 2nd hifonics, then put 1 per coil. Carsound.com forum theres a guy with a SS 6500-that'll power your sub plenty: http://www.audiogroupforum.com/csforum/sho...ead.php?t=64894 This guys got some stuff for sale: http://www.diald.com/usaci/viewtopic.php?t=5009 Just my favorite so far simply because of how I have one and I'm very pleased so far: http://www.diald.com/usaci/viewtopic.php?t=4380 Good luck.

Has anyone burnt a BTL coil? What wattage and what scenario would you EXPECT a BTL to burn up the voice coil? And lets also assume that that's an unclipped signal, just to clarify

		BTL help

could check out the termpro forum if you're up for used. If you want new thats a bit different. You could also get a 2nd amp like you have and put one per coil. Other than that: strapped sundown 1500s. kicker 2500 rockford 2000 or 3000 there's a hifonics thor on ebay also a massive 3000 on ebay memphis mc2000d on ebay If you have a price range I've been looking at some of these amps (and more powerful) a lot lately, so I could probably give some more suggestions.

		Finally done with finals!

If you are concerned about the weight/size you might want to stick with sealed. You could strap the clubs to the roof . (I now carry bungie coords with me everywhere). I'll tell you my thoughts on getting H/D or Lowes to cut your MDF- DONT. It makes it soo easy to load up, but they're always around 5* or more off, even though the saw is locked in correct. I have them cut atleast 1" bigger than I need so I can straighten things up, but whenever I let them cut for me I always find I'm a little crooked.

		BTL Power Recommendations

I figured I'd start this topic because I have noticed there are a lot of people asking this questions, I even still have a few questions. The most common besides enclosure questions is those about how powering the BTL, so maybe this will be a good blanket to answer many questions. Q1. When most people buy this sub they don't have an enormous expensive amp to power it to it's full potential-as most people just want something to hold up good for daily use and don't plan on seriously competing with it. Being that the RMS is 2000 watts, is this the minimum recommended? Obviously 500 watts will make it play, but to see good results what is the smallest amount of power recommended? Q2. Once adding on cooling and various options the power handling goes up. Fully loaded what is it safe to give them? I know Steve Meade has 4000 watts rms to his daily, but truthfully after putting that much power on mine it moved so much and got so loud it was scary! With a clean 4000 watts would the BTL be fine listening to music? More? Q3. For competition purposes is there a definite limit for power during burps? I've seen several videos (12" challenge) where 10000rms was put on one, but to actually make it through a comp w/out failure, what could be recommended? I know this can get a little tricky, but just some ballpark figures would be helpful. I know because someone could read this, put on a billion watts and then be upset because their BTL didn't hold up(often because of something they did wrong with their amps settings) it is hard to say concrete #s, but as a suggestion, or somewhat of a guidline to follow with caution, what do you feel is appropriate? Anyone with experience may feel free to put in any thoughts they may have- to help those thinking about buying a BTL, or thinking about putting more power on what they currently have. Thanks.

		Help : 12 BL or 12 Q D2...?

I've come to find that despite what many say the t/s parameters don't often mean what it's easy to conclude they would. I definitely think the BTL drops low, that's where it really shines to me is those teeth-rattling lows. For some reason when a shop owner tells me they compete but they don't know of RE, cactus sounds, ed, or pretty much anything but the major brands like kicker,jl,alpine, pioneer, etc, it hurts their credibility to me. They may compete, but I wonder how seriously when they only know of products their shop carries. I had a shop owner tell me I would've been better off with 2 memphis mojos, that I probably wasted my money. Then he sat in the car, and had nothing to say. I've had soooo many people tell me to shell out the green for JL, but I can't for the life of me see why. Everything I've heard from them has been good and looked good, but not special in any way to justify the price. I was cosidering one of the w7s, but you can buy 2 btls for the cost of the 13w7 and be much louder... it wouldn't make sense. I met a guy w/ 2 12w7s in his extended cab, and when he heard the one btl I had in at the time he was in awe. The major brands have some good products in different areas, but they charge more than they should because they can ride on the name. (Down w/ marketing hype!) As far as your honda, some of the people I've talked to w/ your car found good results w/ the sub & port facing back, or the sub facing up and ports back/or to the sides. If you have time before installing try to really coat the lid of the trunk w/ sound deadener. I like to cover all the surfaces, then fill in the corners/gaps of the trunk lid w/ expanding foam. It really keeps it from making so much noise- which you most likely will. Good luck!

		Excited thats all

That shows how well versed I am in some of these newer cars Could you tell me what this means (in bold)? I'm not familiar w/ the word. Thanks If that's the case though I'd think it'd be pretty easy, especailly compared to a trunk. I was pulling low/mid 140s from a 15" L7 on 1300w in my yukon. With less cabin space and a better sub, I can't see why not. Again though, just a matter of getting the design right.
