  1. I can't believe the complaints about the pricing. I think the AA subs are quite a bargain.
  2. That's a VERY good deal!
  3. I went from an XBl2 XXX12 to a Q12. There really isn't a major difference. The XXX has a slightly better transient response and can handle more power. Overall, the Q is a better driver. Cheaper, lighter and louder with the slightest SQ and power handling penalty. But you'll be extremely happy either way. The beauty about the Q is that I can put 2 in a sealed box and it will weigh about the same as a single XXX.
  4. Yeah, mostly daily. I go to comps once in awhile but its more for fun. I'm going to skip the HC800 and just go with the HC2400 and the 200 amp alt. Thanks for the input!
  5. If anything, they get better as the suspension loosens up a little.
  6. I think the first batch of DE1000's were 1.5 ohm stable which was changed later on to 1 ohm stable.
  7. IIRC, that is 50x2 at 4 ohms. 1/2 ohm stable and it is 23" long. If you are brave and have the electrical system to support it, it will run at 1/4 ohm. I think they put out a tad over 1KW at 14V into 1 ohm mono. Just curious, what color is it? I had a USA-400 (same size) in gloss purple way back when. The florida splash finish was awesome. Ahhhh, the memories.
  8. I've got an older USA-2000x which is the 2 ohm stable model. Say if I ran this at 2 ohms bridged, would I be good with a 200 amp alt, Kinetic HC2400 and HC800? Thanks
  9. Exactly how much stuff are you taking out? I imagine if you remove the back seat cushion, you'd gain enough space to mount 4 18s with a vertical slot port. That means you'd have to build the box in the car.
  10. If you must turn your bass boost on, make sure you turn the gains down a bit more. The bass boost will clip a signal pretty quickly which isn't good. Try to play with the phasing, see what works better. Whether the sub is in or out of phase doesn't matter.
  11. I'd go with the single T1500.2. You'll have more options later on down the road.
  12. I wouldn't miss the crossover. You can use the crossover on your head unit for a simple front/rear/sub setup. Or, if you want to go with a tweet/mid/sub active setup, most will either use an external EQ/over. I like the idea of a 5/6 channel, saves a lot of space, installation headaches, time, wire, and cost. The sub channel is never really that powerful where you can get a good amount of bass. You can call it an SAX-1400.6 and it would be a truly unique product. I haven't seen a 5/6 channel with a 1000 watt sub channel. I think there are a lot of family oriented guys who need their trunk (like me) who would love to have something like this.
  13. I have no proof besides past experience but I would guess that audiocontrol makes a more accurate narrowband EQ. With that, you get some para EQ bands, adjustable 24 db/oct slopes, and balanced differential outputs. If you have get the DDC, you can adjust everything from the front seat. If you are paying full retail for a DQXS, it would be hard to justify not going with the 360.2 based on price alone. Usually you can pick up a DQXS on ebay for about $330. In that case, DQXS all the way.
  14. I have the Audiocontrol DQX with the DDC and it is awesome! I have to experience with your other pieces. But what will your front and rear speakers consist of...amps, speakers, etc. Otherwise, any processing/xovers will be overkill.
  15. I can't believe you make car amps for a living and don't have a car with a decent system in it right now. It is coming along nicely. I was sad to see you get rid of your BMW.
  16. I'm pretty sure Scott, Nick or Shawn will send you one if you send a SASE to them.
  17. Who gives a sh1 about adire...this is all about Ascendent. More info and pics please!
  18. I'll PM you when I get back. It's nice to have another local Fi guy, I was feeling lonely.
  19. From my perspective, Fi would be geared more towards DIYers because it lacks a dealer network. AA has a dealer network and can appeal to a different segment. Probably beginners into the hobby or those who are less inclined to install their own stuff. Any plans for a sub with a steel basket?
  20. Those subs look awesome! i dunno. i was just speakin...er typin my mind. DONT TRY TO REPRESS MY VOICE...er FINGERS! IT MUST BE HEARD...er READ! i wonder if JL has any patents on logo placement lol Maybe...JL is ghey like that.
  21. Mondease, you're in Austin, right? I'm at Fort Hood. I'd like to check out your BTL whenever I get back from Iraq. There's one other guy in Austin with an Fi Q that I know of.
  22. Glad it worked out...but what's up with the double middle finger? Maybe something more like this? B)
  23. How about a 250.4? That would be bad@ss. IIRC, there are plans for a 5/6 channel amp as well? I'd love to see a 100.4 and an SAE-1000D combined into a badass 5 channel amp that is little longer than a 3000d. I would definitely get that. I remember to old US Amps VLX-400 which is the longest amp that I can remember seeing. Awesome amp and works great...if you it will fit into your car.
  24. I would if I could find a 24 volt amplifier.
