  1. Indeed... I am feeling rough times ahead. ...of course you could spend it on some Sundown stuff!
  2. It is relatively easier since you have more space to put more subs. That is still a pretty good score for a single sub in a large vehicle.
  3. Wow! I bet every chick that checked out your van was walking around looking like she stuck her finger in an electric outlet.
  4. This is a steal at $200. The 100.2 is my most popular seller and will adequately power any set of components...not to mention a small sub! I have done 2 100.2s on a pair of SD-1 subs and it rocks! I would say that a 100.2 outperforms my US AMPS USA-400x...which is also 100x2.
  5. First, that truck is insane! I posted some pics of a Chaos 12, magnet shots and all, in a different thread. MSRP is $309, $339, $369, $399 for a 10,12,15,18 respectively The Chaos series is similar in APPEARANCE ONLY to a Q since the magnet is tapered on the bottom. In addition, the chaos series works well in small ported boxes...much smaller than a comparable Q. I haven't really messed around with an Arsenal yet but I can say that the Chaos and Havoc are different from a Q and/or SSD.
  6. I have a similar setup to what you are looking at, ported Havoc 12. Either setup would sound great. If you want the smallest box possible, why not try the Havoc 12 sealed? You will probably lose some low end but the Havocs can go into a pretty small box.
  7. ...for good measure.
  8. Always willing to give you a shameless plug!
  9. A small sealed box is the optimal box according to AA's literature. I have yet to put a havoc in a sealed box personally. As far as choosing between the Mag and Havoc, that's kind of tough. Correct me if I'm wrong, but no too many people will have their hands on the new Mags quite yet. Even the exposure to the new Havocs is somewhat limited here (due to AA being a dealer based company). From what I've read and heard, the Mags will be in a similar market segment as the Havoc as an LSQ sub. If I were in your shoes, I would base my decisions on cost. You can be pretty sure both subs will get loud, sound good, take more power in excess of stated limits, provide a long service life. Bottom line, you'll be happy with either one. I think it is still safe to assume that SI hasn't changed their business goals and fundamentals. If depth is an issue, then I'd go with the Mag.
  10. Save it for the pending recession...
  11. Great job...sent you a PM. Someday...I'll make it to one of the shows there.
  12. I'll look into that...any advice for a vented and/or sealed alignment?
  13. I've had both a Q and Havoc...similar maybe in application but different magnets, specs, and sound. I'd say the Chaos would be more similar to a Q.

I think 1 60 sq ft roll of raamat will work.
  15. Other than SSA, nowhere. I'd call them up to get some info on a local dealer. If not, I'd be happy to help if you want to take a road trip to TX.
  16. Funny...I just finished a dual Havoc 12 install with a slot port in the middle just like that. Obviously, great minds think alike. BTW, Your install looks awesome!
  17. Why did you get the BP option when you are running a 500 watt amp to it?
  18. You should have about 12-16 sq in of port per cu ft. for a 2.2 cu ft box, you'll need between 24-32 sq in. So if you go with an 8" high port, it should be about 3-4in wide.
  19. The Havoc would be more comparable to a Q or maybe even a BL as power. I think you'll be okay as long as you don't pound on them with test tones for more than 15-20 minutes. You might want to stick with a box towards the smaller end of AA's recommendation. I powered a Q12 (no BP option) with a US Amps USA-2000x. It would do fine except on test tones. The coil would get hot after about 20 minutes of extreme punishment. I've been saying the same thing about the Fi Q and AA Havoc. The Havoc is really quick and accurate with a sharpness reminiscent of my old XBL2 XXX in a sealed box. BTW, pics???
  20. I've got an 06 RE XXX 12 which I was going to sell. Screw it...I'll just keep it. I am not really concerned with saving space. I'm looking for something to play with music more than for movies. It will be in a rather large room (my living room and kitchen are connected without a dividing wall). Can anyone guide me as far as box size and tuning? I can do the rest. I'll be powering this with a Crown XTi 2000 (2000 watts into 4 ohms). Thanks
  21. I'm kind of scared to ask...but how much do they weigh? I am assuming the cut dia and outer dia is the same as every other 12 spoke aluminum basket on the market?
  22. Any other sizes? 12" or 18" perhaps?
  23. I think Scott takes into account that there are a lot of really crazy people out there when he does the power ratings...
  24. I've got a single Havoc 12 powered by a 1500D. The box is 2.0 cu ft and is tuned to 33 hz. I metered at ~140 brand new out of the box on a TL in the kick panel. It was in a n 04 BMW 330Ci which is not a very good car for SPL. There is a lot of padding in the back seat which was up during testing.
  25. Update...the Havoc seems to be broken in. Unlike the Q, which significantly changed as it broke in, the Havoc seems to be change a little less. I would say that the Havoc is more comparable to a n XBL2 XXX than a Q. Most Fi Q setups seem to be tuned to 30-32 hz. I had mine tuned a little higher (33hz...maybe 34hz when you factor in my box building skills) so I didn't have any issues with 70+ output. My only knock against the sound of the Q was that it is a little harder to blend into my front stage because of the increased top end. Whereas my XBL2 XXX 12 was very easy. The Havoc makes it easy. Conclusion....the Havoc does everything extremely well...this can fit into any system. Again, I would definitely choose this over the Q considering the price. I wouldn't necessarily run out and ditch my Q for a Havoc. I upgraded purely for promotion purposes. You get a little more bottom end with a little more refined sound vrs the Q. You won't regret getting either sub! The edge goes to the Havoc.
