  1. I was thinking this is the issue. I will add a 3rd battery if necessary. An alternator upgrade at this time isn't going to happen unfortunately. I have to wait for graduation.
  2. That was what ai thought it could be as well. The alt still puts out 14.2 though. Tomorrow I am going to check the front battery ground. I will wait to see if the issue lies in the front YT too when the new one gets here. mytyeerinpie, what subs are you running and at what ohm load? Also what vehicle? I am still just wondering if I am pulling that much more current.
  3. So I built a temporary battery box and stuffed the huge D31 YT into the spare tire well and secured it. I know the install is a bit messy but I didn't want to cut the wire any shorter than it already is. This too will come out as soon as I get my Rainbows back and can put the ZX850.4 back in, so don't mind the mess. The Voltage issue is still there. There is 0ga. from the front battery to the rear battery, then to a fuse block, and on to the 1500D. The ground from the 1500 is also 0gauge directly to the rear battery and then 0gauge ground from the amp to chassis. The Alpine amp is 0gauge from the rear positive to a fuse block and then 4gauge to the amp and 4gauge to the rear battery ground as well. I took off the rear battery ground and resanded the metal. It looked good prior to that, I am just trying to figure out why the V is getting so low. I am currently sitting at 13.9-14.0 with the car running. I watched it dip down into the low 11's when I am pushing it. It isn't going under though. I have already ordered a new YT to replace the 3yr old YT under the hood in addition to the D31 that is my second battery. Here is the temporary install: Ideas are definitely welcome as to the voltage issue. Although not as bad as before it is still there. The SS PCA2000D I had either didn't pull near as much current or something has gone bad. Chris
  4. Thanks for the vidoes bro. Sick!
  5. I got my shirt with my amp! Black is mad hot here in FL. I would love to see a lighter colored hoodie too.
  6. 12.3 volts is pretty crappy especialy for an AGM battery Ive got an Alpha Cell thats been sitting in the garage for every bit of 6 months that still reads 12.7 volts Agreed. I beat on it for better than 4 years though. It may need replacing as well. go buy a Ctek 7000 Battery charger and see if that dosent help any they have a mode that is reccomended by Optima I will definitely look into it. It will have to wait unfortunately. I am just about out of money and the semester has just begun. Edit: I just searched and the charger is more than both my batteries, so it will definitely have to wait a bit.
  7. Yep, and today dropped into the 10's with the gains turned almost all they way down. Looks like I will be needing two. Getting a great deal on a G31 from a friend in Orlando. $50, I just have to go get it. I will most likely source a second G34/78 for the underhood duties. Alt still puts out 14.2.

  9. Great to hear. I too have been and will continue to promote their product as a result of the experience I had. Top Notch people!.
  10. I have never used that Alpine HU. I could only compare the same specs that you have access to. If you asked me which brand I had more confidence in, I would say Eclipse. The last Alpine HU that I used was the 9833. I liked it a lot, but sold it for an Eclipse 8455. 8V pre-outs were awesome. I have installed a couple CD7200's and have had zero issues and they all sounded great. I am currently running a Pioneer 880PRS. I love the tunability and interface. I have always had a small noise issue. Grounded the RCA's and 99% of it is gone. Most people don't even hear it. If only Eclipse had something with the tunability of the 880, that would be the deck I would want.
  11. I have had great success with that particular unit. I think it will work just fine for that application.
  12. No question about that! I just found a G31 YT. Going to go pick it up from a friend in Orlando Sat. I hope this will help stabilize things a bit.
  13. So I hooked up the multi Voltage meter and with the car running sit at 13.5V. I slowly rolled in the volume and it shot down pretty quick. It hit 11V and I turned it down. I am going to turn the gains down until I get a second battery back in there. I have 0gauge from the front YT already as well as 0gauge big-3 and additional 0gauge grounds. I will be buying one tonight, I hope it gets here soon. The YT I do have is a few years old but holds at 12.3V without being hooked up and 13.5V while in the car. So I think I can get some more use out of it. I will def keep an eye on it though.
  14. I figured I would share. I got it installed today. I am down a battery and some power. I had an additional YellowTop and a SS PCA2000D. I really can't tell too bad. Once I get the new battery and upgrade the power wire, I will give her the beat down and report back.
  15. "After the update" Oh noes, what do we have here. Glad to see you around these parts.
  16. Congrats! I just ordered a 1500D. It will also be my first Sundown purchace. From all of my research you really can't go wrong here.
  17. Nice. I wonder what that thing would do in drive by....
  18. Holy sh!t man. I got to sit in there at SBN and it was nasty, "looks" louder now!!!
  19. I may be in on this. Gotta make sure the mortgage gets paid though. Thanks for the great pricing anyway.
  20. Great job Jon! The new rack looks great too!
  21. I saw a bumb fight once.
  22. That is going to be perfectly over the top!
  23. http://www.partsexpress.com/pe/showdetl.cf...tnumber=300-527 Does this look like a good option for a volume control? I plan on mounting this just inside the door that leads to the deck.
  24. Thanks caligreen. I appreciate the information.
  25. The tempurature outside is going to be perfect for grilling in the next month or so and I decided I was tired of having to turn up the indoor setup so loud the people inside the house had to shout over it so I could listen to music. So I bought a pair of Dayton indoor/outdoor speakers today and a ton of wire (500ft). I had intentions of using the "B" channel of the "A/B" selector on my HT receiver as a channel to run the outside speakers. I found lots of information, but very little specifics on the subject. My questions. 1) Can I use the "B" speaker selector on the Yamaha RXV2400 to power these in addition to its regular duties? 2) Volume control, is it as simple as purchacing the impedence matching vc and putting it inline? 3) If I cannot use the "B" channel, where do I go from there? Amp? What to use as an input? I am sure the RXV2400 has an additional output, I just need to figure that part out if I need an additional amp. Thanks in advance, Chris
