I think that the 6x9's have to go, and why not do upward firing and just design a cover for when you need it for work... You would loose soo much cargo space raising that box up 6" just to hope for enough air movement... I'll let someone with more downward firing experience chime in on this though.

As always Jacob, we are expecting great things from this sub, will it be offered in the 18" size too? And are you going for more efficiency than the nightshade with this as well? I'll leave you get back to work now ;p

Also note if you don't change the port, the box will ultimately loose some of it's peakiness as well... which could sound/feel quieter, but the box will be more efficient across the board.

When you compete is car on or car off, and do you drive around bumping or do you listen to music at moderate levels when driving around. You will need a new alt, your current one will die, it's just a matter of time. With me, I ran 2 saz-1500d's strapped at 1 ohm (.5 each amp), and I just had one battery, the alternator lasted a while, but it did fail eventually, when I competed though, car was off, alternator got to charge battery between runs with no music playing.
