Screws vs. Brad Nails
That's funny, last time I checked the wood glue is stronger than the wood screws anyways. Brad nails really don't make a structural difference at all.

Welcome to the IHoP

Jl audio opinion?

Problems with BTL setup
tiny port, I doubt that amp is doing any real power and you are not giving it enough current to even support over 2000 watts rms.

Screws vs. Brad Nails
brad nailing is soooo much faster

Welcome to the IHoP
CoD4 is sorta fun when the game doesn't get laggy and perfect headshots are wasted.

Talk about 5k amp List Here
Jacob, us street competitors only ask that you stress efficiency. Other than that you already own our wallets, lol.

Welcome to the IHoP
I would kill for gas that was only 3.42 a gallon. Currently 3.72 a gallon for regular in NY

Two-way subwoofers?
Audio Obsessions, Albany NY sells them. Although any audison dealer should be able to get them iirc they are the same company.

Welcome to the IHoP
I get my eclipse 8455 back around monday. It's kinda sad that I just bought 1 headunit, and ordered myself a Cd7200mkII as well. The latter is for my sq project and the deal I got on buying my 8455 back was too good to pass up so it's going in my winter beater.

smaller boxes
Smaller ported boxes are generally less efficient at lower frequencies. But they are more efficient at a specific frequency. You could loose some low end extension, and it could feel less "boomy" but should be a tad bit more punchy. Just make sure you have enough port area.

a little feedback about trickle chargers.
most 12v battieries are "static" between 12.8 and 13.2 volts

SQ sub choices
You could go with a large mid-bass tweeter combo, but than you would be getting into custom kick panels.

Welcome to the IHoP
actually camaro's like that are common place in Japan, it looks to either have a sr20det motor or the inline 6 from the skyline (which could actually be the sr20det, I just can't remember my japanese inline sixes right now, I just woke up).

Installed my Sundown amp this weekend... What a piece of crap.
I know that when I first saw this thread pop up, I was severely disappoined that I was at work and would be unable to see any pics of this "crap" sundown product... Than I realized it had to be a joke as Jacob has OCD with leftover newspaper when he packs stuff.

Welcome to the IHoP
Adrian_D there was an offer for a rack amp for you on page 12816, just a friendly heads up.

From: Ideas for Sound system
This is not Sound Quality however you slice it. I'm not trying to argue with you. Life is full of facts and opinions, facts are not up to interpretation from opinions. What you do with said facts are based on your opinions on said fact but do not change the fact.

Ideas for Sound system
Double post, sorry. Since I already have the post space... The reason you don't run multiple sets of speakers because now you have more speakers to eq, time align, and you have more noise. *meaning more going on, SQ should be simple, sounding effortless* Frequencies from as low as 45 hz to 20khz plus are localizable, meaning that your ears and brain can process and determine where the sound is coming from. If you have speakers behind you reproducing these frequencies than you will be able to tell where the sound is coming from and it will be detrimental to the theory of a soundstage, which should extend out in front of you sometimes even seeming to be outside the vehicle.

Ideas for Sound system
I'm gonna have to side with Sean on this one. Sound Quality is a definition not subjective. Sound Quality is reproducing the original recording with as little distortion (the most accuracy) as possible. Sound Quality is about tonality, imaging, soundstage... It is judged in a competition, if it was purely subjective than it would not be judgeable. The only reason you add more subwoofers in a sound quality system is to enable the reproduction of lower frequencies. Reproducing subsonic frequencies requires either a huge subwoofer box (IB works as well) or a lot of cone moving (more woofers). I have never seen a sound quality car that uses more than one set of speakers (whether 3 way or 2 way)((excluding 5.1 sq cars)). Now the subjective part is what do you like. We are all going to recomend things we either have first hand experience with or we have knowledge about. Sean can come off very snobbish, He has answered these questions and argued his point more times than I have probably eaten breakfast in my entire life. So to the original poster to clarify, you are looking for a good sounding system that can accurately reproduce music within the confines of your budget?

audio control
I wouldn't suggest the epicenter to anyone with a decent subsection.

ATTN: Jacob :D
Once again in Jacob's team, I will probably be the most abusive to the amp, as I will be stuck in street A, Single battery and car off... For bassrace, i'll definitely be staying in a lower class (129.9) knowing that I only have 1 battery and a single alt... This is mostly hypothetical as I'm not even sure yet if I will be competing in 09.
