    I had a Q18 in a 5.75 net sealed box for most of a year and was happy with it. Now I have another one in 7.0 ported tuned to 28hz. The woofer performs very well in both alignments imo, but i've always favored ported for my tastes. I dont think you can go wrong either way, but if you're limited to a single sub setup, I would push for ported. Still most of the time I would choose 1 ported over 2 sealed aswell, but ultimately depends on many other variables at hand.

    Meh, if I wanted jl i wouldnt be here. I have alot of experience with jl since 94, but there is way better product for the money elsewhere. And time has since told me to move on

    I'll take my Q anyday over any jl sub. Ive owned both, and both have been in various alignments
  15. I wasnt directing it to anyone in particular, just a general statement. Its very simple really, pick a side to work with or use both. I like to use each set for each coil, but thats me because I use 8gauge and you cant double that up in a single terminal when parallel wiring at the speaker terminal. If I had less wire at the time,I would just use one set.
