Logging my Progress
So after reading Dem Beats - Health Check, I am inspired to do something similar. I have been looking for a way to write down my journey, and there is no better place than SSA! I've actually done this before here. I had results overall but was also starving for information and learning along the way. It's 2 years down the road now and I have learned a lot of information, so this time I'm going to try and track my progress near daily and help keep my thoughts in check. Start.... Current Weight - 208.5 (as of right now) *note* I am using my home scale... it is wrong (reads low) but its the best I got so I'm rolling with it ** I started this summer at 215 with the goal of 185-190. The first 5 pounds is always easy for me (2 days honestly) then it slows down. I'm doing something unprecedented for myself. Typically I only take vitamins and recently I began taking Fish Oil Pills. I have incorporated some other supplements into my diet in hopes to help my fat loss and support lean muscle building and endurance. Namely, the two I've started recently is cinnamon extract and L-carnitine. Cinnamon extract is supposed to level out your blood glucose level, lower cholesterol, and increase glucose metabolism, as well as treat all kinds of possible problems. L-carnitine is supposed to help the use of fat as an energy source. Their are also many claims on performance increases. The verdict is really still out on this and I took on a stretch to use it. I am introducing things slowly, one at a time, to confirm that their are no negative effects on my body. I feel that it will be hard to distinguish positive effects that each supplement provides considering that I can not isolate the variable enough to warrant taking the time to see how well they work. As much as I hate to admit it, I am going to introduce a fat burning pill. I usually shy away from these products because I know they aren't necessary and their effectiveness isn't truly proven, but the 210 plateau kills me and I'm really looking to break it. Also, I figure that I give it one try. If it doesn't work, cut my losses and go on my way. If it does... Awesome! Activity I am currently doing a lot of biking. My goal is to do a 100 mile ride at the end of the summer called the Hotter N Hell 100. I am definitely unsure if I will make this goal but I will try my hardest. Currently I bike 5 days a week, run 2 days a week, lift 3 days a week. I am isolating certain parts to ensure that my body gets adequate rest and to reduce my risk of injury. My lifts are light weight because I have had hamstring problems and a shoulder problem. I am doing my best to roll into the weights and strengthen these parts safely. That's all of my blabbering for now. I'm going to post up last weeks riding log and todays work out shortly...

time to lose weight.
You need to drop 500-1000 calories a day to lose 1-2lbs a week. 3500 calories is about 1 pound. The concept is right though, and its easy. Get your body to consume more than your mouth is consuming. Getting your metabolism to respond can be a bit tricky depending on the person.

I know its been a few months but keep it up for the summer bud. Throw in some running and cross fit exercises. Your young (I'm only 21 but still ) so make sure you keep your joints happy. I know some guys who lifted big in HS but got burnt out / injured. So keep your body moving and it will thank you, (and the ladies will too)

SSA's Daily fitness iHop
I think people underestimate the power of walking. My friend lost 70lbs over the summer by eating right and walking about 5 miles a day.

Well the rain may have ruined my chance to ride today, but it didn't stop the fed ex guy from delivering my Dad's new computer!

dem beats, I'm in the middle of trying to lose weight this summer. I'm looking at losing 25-30 lbs total (I've lost about 7 so far). For me it's all in the stomach. Truly, I have a little in my thighs but my arms and calves have hardly any fat at all. I'm hoping to get into the 185- 190 range then I'd really like to just add muscle and loose a proportional amount of fat to maintain my weight. I actually just made the jump to try out some supplements for weight loss other than vitamins, protein and the occasional creatine. I have added some fish oil pills in the morning (not really fat loss promoting but definitely health promoting. My general theory is if my body is given fat in the morning and digest it, it will more easily digest body fat during the day.) Most of what I am adding is naturally occuring product, but I also did order a diet pill for the first time. This, like your low carb diet is just a short term thing for me. It's definitely not something I plan to be on for a long time and plan on a month and a half tops. By the way, I am going to personally try to refrain from posting chit chat, etc... in your thread so that we can focus solely on your needs and your results.

Health check
Good luck man. I know you have a lot of nutritional information, much that I've used for a positive influence on myself (sipping on some Nectar right now). I wasn't a big fan of your low carb plan, but I like that you are only using it for a preliminary jump. I know that introducing good carbs into my diet has boosted my energy and increased my weight loss. Remember its a long term journey. Keep it up and keep your body nourished. Lots of water, good vitamins, etc. will keep your joints and body happy.

No, I'm pretty sure I got confused and crossed the amp at 35hz while the processor crosses it at 63. It definitely made a big difference in output. It was fun actually being able to crank something to make it just plain loud Go Icon!- Welcome to the IHoP
So you want to hear my noob mistake??? I've had the H701 for a while now. Just went and checked my amp and realized that I never switched the crossover frequency from the amp. So the signal was being cut at the amp after being cut by the processor.- Welcome to the IHoP
Yep, pretty much.- New Desktop for Surfing
It was $650 then my Dad added another year of service, Office 2010 (which I may could have got cheaper) and then there was sales tax- Welcome to the IHoP
Or just a KR all pimped out with the 6.2(so long as it's the exact same engine and not cheeper parts). It's not as cool as the raptor but cheeper and faster on blacktop. I just couldn't get a 4 door raptor. I would love a 4 door KR like you said but couldn't do the raptor like that, It would have to be EC for me.- Welcome to the IHoP
Caption contest: the Verizon van makes a pit stop -- Engadget I like the last one- Welcome to the IHoP
So my dad got his computer and now I'm kind of motivated to get mine a bit more RAM and maybe a sound card. Thinking about picking up 1 Gb stick (188 pin DDR PC3200). Can I mix my 1gb with my 512mb since I have 2 slots?- New Desktop for Surfing
Well my Dad called up Dell and they cut some pricing here and there, offered free shipping etc. so he picked up a the i5 2.66GHz QUAD core 7200RPM 750Gb HD and 4 gigs of RAM - Welcome to the IHoP
