Would I be able to get a machined compression plug for my RE XXX v3 motor on my next recone to help with cooling? Will it negatively affect performance?

How much for just the motor? that's a 15" basket I'm guessing?

I keep looking around for non-car audio items to trade but all I see is motors, baskets, amps, and enclosures. And in the driveway is my car.

How much power are you running? what kind of wire? and is your alt stock?

I modeled an enclosure for a PSI PF3 and it sounded really good. Problem is there is no cooling to these motors, but that is the same with a lot of ferrite on the market.

Just make sure you are monitoring voltage and don't get too carried away. The HC800 is a nice battery, but you should definitely add another. Look into welding cable for your upgrade @ weldingsupply.com

If the coils are reading like that the leads are already toast.

rip it out and check the leads.

Just don't do it. OEM recone from SSA will give you everything the sub is supposed to be. If you knew how to wind coils and build woofers from parts it would be another story.
