  1. Thanks for saying that, it will be my future home theatre sub. I was actually thinking crazy to sell it, but comments like these will keep it around a long time. I'm surprised you didn't build an 18. *Currently looking for a motor* Everything is looking and sounding good in my ride, but I am pushing too much power to the XXX =[. She's getting warm, and I may consider selling it or putting it on the shelf for a HT project.

  3. Bought this motor in the winter and now its a finished project. Fi BL 15 next to the XXX motor with a 15" basket This was how I bought it to find the spiders were off the landing; I glued them back down and ran some power to it via free air to find that there was mad coil rub =[ Finished with an Fi recone and doing some testing; Its now a 15" in 3.9 cu. ft. tuned in lower 34
  4. So the compression plug does a great deal of cooling? Could you possibly machine a couple of these for my Qs?
  5. showtimeSPL says there was a problem with the cones, at least on the Brahmas xtreme
  6. he's hooked up at 1 or 4, maybe he thinks if hes hooked up at 4 ohm and turns the gain all the way up hes getting 500 x2 =/
  7. Why didn't you get internal leads? Definitely an option that you should get especially when running sealed IMO. Sounds like you need to do some troubleshooting. Check the subsonic on the amp bass eq, exc, check your voltage to amp and voltage while playing. Your voltage may be the reason for low power and your low power may be the reason for the sub getting hot. Spend more time on the forum and learn to troubleshoot this on your own instead of bothering the local shop with equipment you didn't buy from them. They will only send you astray from the truth behind your problems if you don't know what you're doing
  8. Pre-09 motors have a power rating of 1000 rms and is a different motor than the 2 models they made after that. All the different motor types take the same recone.
  9. That recone may be short lived
  10. Does the Brahma have the same motor as the XXX v3?
  11. Hard to believe the magnet cracked if it was in the box the whole time
  12. Shawn supposedly took care of a correction to an order I placed, so I need to come in contact with Fi as well =[
  13. You wouldn't want the enclosures to be the same size
  14. Precision Power PPI BK1800.1D RMS Power Rating: 4 ohms: 700 watts x 1 chan.2 ohms: 1100 watts x 1 chan.1 ohms: 1800 watts x 1 chan.
  15. If you reconed it it would probably be closer to 1000 rms
  16. Lol @ I saw someone selling some of those on classifieds
  17. Since you have not built yet you can make it smaller.
  18. Simple solution is that you can drill a tiny hole in between chambers and wire them all to one terminal cup, being that you probably won't be feeding 8 gauge wire between them.
  19. If you can't gain any info on that, its probably time to take the subs out and just wire through the port or drill a hole.
  20. wrap a smaller wire like 14 gauge around the nuts and duplicate the wiring. Try and see if you get the same nominal or different in any way. The bolts may be too close to each other maybe.
  21. You may have time to cancel and get you a true American Made woofer
  22. does each bolt outside the box read correct? I would start there before you pull the subs out.
  23. Looks like you have been sponsored
