  2. haha try canada our english has "colour" or should i say "flavour" haha just kiddin
  3. ive been thinking of a setup for my dorm so this topic caught my eye, i was going to do 2 18" Mjs also but sealed so i could fit them under my bed in a 6 cube box. you could have the subs face out where a standard desk would have drawers, and then have a single port, 20" wide by 7" high so you could fit feet and itd be nice and breezy haha. generally i dont even go under my desk because my sub and computer are in the way (i rest my feet on the sub sometimes, 2 cubes only) but i could deffinitely fit 22.5 cubes total in the space of this desk. so you could easily fit 9 cubes
  4. alot of those songs especially the techno and doe boy fresh just dont have good lows. "hypnotize" by jeezy "out the pound" by birdman and lil wayne are my favourites right now "leather so soft" by the birdman and wayne, cali dro is just a wicked song by them also "what happened to that boy" by baby aka birdman is a classic. "the boom" and "give em what they want" by dmx. "big black train" and "like this" by mims "Purple" and "high off the ground" by project pat "boy looka here" by rich boy "psst!" by the d o double G-izzle and jaime foxx "down for my ni**as" by snoop dog "oh timbaland" by timbaland "focus" and "white girl" by jeezy "badd" by the ying yang twins "shorty wanan ride" by buck thats some of the stuff in my cd player, which plays Music
  5. ^^^^^ agreed! but preferably 2 18"ssds simply because the cone area.
  6. haha im seeing 170's!! but putting in 8 18" BTLS sideways is goin to be a feat in itself. Steve, all your work has inspired me greatly, you are my actual hero and good luck mayne! we all got to look out for your son cause hes gunna be killin competitions, and the next step to get even louder would have to be a nuclear warhead ported in the cargo area haha
  7. do either the Pioneer deh p780mp or the deh p880prs have the ability to control a 2way + sub active setup.
  8. if your into all types of music, you will want to build a box accordingly. the subs can play whatever you listen to, but the box is what determines how it sounds.

id set the wattage to about 1500 watts rms with the bass knob on full and the headunit up as loud as it goes clearly. that way you can drive around with the bass knob down and when you crank it up, you know your only sending a max of 1500 watts to the sub. i think the formula is: voltage=square root of (watts x ohms). use a digital multimeter to set your gains and you wont have problems. somebody will come by and correct my formula if its wrong
  10. id also reccomend a fully loaded 15" BTL, just look at dopeys pic beside his post, its a beautiful driver. plus the 20001BD will put out much more than 2000 watts. the bl isnt rated for that amount of power. Welcome to the forum man
  11. but it has to be recognized!

    oh dear
  13. oh this reminds me, what kind of electrical would be required to run a 3000D at 1 ohm daily?
  14. A Q18 in a too big 11.6cube wall tuned to 30 hz, with 1000 watts Termlab: 145.7 at the windshield with Young Jeezy's Hypnotize Audiocontrol = garbage but i did a 160.6 at the windshield
  15. Scott, youre way to pretty to screw anything up hahahaha
  16. i never use win isd any more, i always got wrong port lengths compared to other proven online calculators, and compared to scott

sound deadening is one of the funnest parts of an install i find, i went with second skin
  18. its easy enough to make, the hole cut out is 14.125" and the outer diameter is 15.625". just take some card board and cut out the circles. what kind of car?

Like it says up there, Ive always like the RE SX type dust cap/cone because it so seamless and seckserific. Just wondering if Fi plans on doing that and how many other people on here would like that option?
  20. so your going to do a blowthrough!! sweet
  21. as most people say, its in the install my Q18 sounds better than my old Kicker CVX 15 and my friends 12 type R sounds better than the CVX, both are generally good sounding subs. the Q is on a whole different level. and those are different installs, different tastes. theres no real way of telling you whats best because there are so many variables. I think because you seem fairly new to this, you may want to stick with 10"s, 12"s or 15"s because of the flexibility of the installs. if you got a big truck, throw some 18"s in that bish! haha just remember if it doesnt sound right, its most likely the enclosure
  22. johny24 replied to mikey060's topic in General Fi
hahaha whats the cardboard sub for? i think im going to have to make one
  23. johny24 replied to appleyard's topic in Fi Products
thank god!! i dont think that basket is appealing in any way shape or form whatsoever
  24. if you have a 300 amp alt and dont need it yet, is there any negative effect on the car?
  25. so a Q with the bp option will handle 1500 daily? i ask because im selling my 18" Q so when i get the VW rabbit i can put 2 Q15s in the hatch with 3000watts.
