  1. I'm looking forward to seeing what they have to offer, I used the Assassin for a while and it sounded fantastic. I hope it is soon that we see the new products.
  2. I would just order the maw12's from Mark in Canada, the shipping isn't that expensive. I order an mj18 and it wasn't bad at all.
  3. We put an MJ18 in 3.5cf sealed and the output was suprising to say the least @ 400w. It was really loud and sounded really nice doing it, 2 of the them would be great, but if your just looking for SPL only I'm not so sure I'd switch as the gain would probably not be that much.
  4. HU: Pioneer Amps: PPI old school especially for mids and highs, Loving my buttkicker for Sub amp right now Components: a/d/s I have 345cs's and wouldn't have anything else Subs: TC Sounds, Ascdendant Audio, Mach 5
  5. I have an srt4 as well and our factory grounding is really bad. I'm going to do the big 3 with 8guage and hope that helps. I get a bit of alternator whine as well, let me know if you find another solution. The 2125 is only giving me a loud squeal on the outputs and the 275 is being overly sensitive to source grounding so I'm getting a bit of alt whine that I've never had an issue with before.
  6. The model of the amp is really not relevant, because the question has to do with the specs. I'm not a brand whore at all, the names of products mean nothing to me and if I like the way a product sounds I purchase it. Anyway, since the manufactorer didn't list the amp is being 2ohm mono stable I bet it wouldn't take it, I guess I could try it but I really don't want to cook the amp in the process. The other option is I do have PPI PC4400.2, if anybody has any experience using it in a 3channel setup, I would have my 4ohm comps on the front 2 channels, then bridge the final 2 channels. I don't know if this amp can do 4ohm on the front and 2ohm on the rear, or if it can do 2ohm mono at all, but if anybody has any insight let me know.
  7. I have an amp with the following specs: 2 x 75 Watts RMS at 4 Ohms 2 x 150 Watts Max at 4 Ohms 1 x 300 Watts Max at 4 Ohms Bridged 2 x 125 Watts at 2 Ohms Electronic Crossover Network Bass Boost Circuit 2 Ohm Stereo Stable Tri-Mode Capable Gold RCA Inputs Power & Protection LED Indicators Advanced Protection Circuitry Soft Turn On/Off VU Meter Thermometer Frequency Response: 15 Hz-35 kHz S/N Ratio: 90 dB I know its not the best of specs in the world, but it is all I have right now so I want to make this work. I got a TC-1000 12" DVC 4ohm, so if I bridge the amp that is a 2ohm load on the amp. My amp says its only 2ohm Stereo stable, so I was thinking and here is where I'm probably overthinking it, that maybe I could just send one channel of the amp to one coil and the other channel of the amp to the other coil. Is there any reason that this will not work? There isn't any other way that I can think of to bridge my amp and end up with a 4ohm load in the end.
  8. I will vouch for the MJ, did any install in an SUV in 3.6cf sealed, with 400watts running it. Man does it sound incredible, the bass is so accurate even way down low. Even my father complimented on how great it sounds, if your into SQ but with some authority, go with the MJ.
  9. I built one in a 3.5cf sealed box and gave it 400watts. It is probably one of the cleanest, and most accurate 18's I've ever heard. It does get loud as well, I would have one for my car but don't have the room. This speaker takes a long time to break in, and I really mean that, it gets louder the longer you use it. It also sounds better the more you use it, but defenitely go sealed on this speaker.
  10. Would love a deal on a ava15 or atlas for that matter. I thought that everything was pretty much gone, but I found a small batch of some Avalanche and Atlas subs upstairs here at the shop. I will throw them up on the website on Monday. I think we've got 5 Avalanche 15's, a pair of Atlas 12's and maybe one or two Atlas 15's. I will know by Monday... I don't really want to sell them, but I think that they would be better served in somebody's car or home than me hording them in storage. Chad Kuypers Ascendant Audio DAMN, I can remember sweating Dale about getting a second Ava 15", I asked him if you guys had any b stocks or anything! I ended up not being able to get a second Ava, I had my dual 15" box built and ready, just needed the second sub. After months of not being able to find another one used, I sold my Ava and moved on to another sub, I really miss that sub , Chad, how much are you going to sell them for? I still have my box for 2 15's sitting in the garage
  11. And I guess the real question is when are we going to see the new Ascendant products for sale? I'm getting really impatient, haha.
  12. The Maw-12 does look really good, I even thought about 2 Maw 10's, and might go either way. I guess I really like the wow factor of the high excursion drivers especially when the SQ is still present. Sort of the "the driver moves like crazy, but sounds awesome doing it" type of thing, haha. Mark by the way, I built a MJ18 for by brother off 400w it sounds incredible. We built a sealed enclusure about 3.4cft, he has been using it for 2 months and everytime I hear it, it gets louder. We put the Buttkicker PE buyout amp on it, sounds great. If I had more room I would go with 3 of the Maw 12's, haha.
  13. I'm at the point that I'm interested in replacing my Ascendant Audio 10" Assassin with either another 10" with something a little more powerful. I'm interested in the SPL subs that Loyd tested. Does anybody know when they will be for sale? If its going to be a long time, lets talk about the loudness difference between my 10" Assassin, and maybe a 12" MAW powered off 300watts. I've also been looking at tc's t1000 line, I like the looks of them, mechanically. I really would like something in either a 10 or 12 that moves alot of air with 300watts.
  14. No Sonotube, its just not for the decor of the room. It was mentioned and talked about but the wife factor slammed it down, haha. But thanks for the suggestion, the box should be finished before to long. I will post some pics when its finished, can't wait to feel the low notes.
  15. So I guess that would be a good build, where do you all suggest I place the port?
  16. This is the model for 9.5cf, tuned 15.5, with 300 watts. Please let me know what you think!
  17. I helped my dad land a TC1000 15" when they were on sale, since he is going to only use 1 we went with the SVC version. He got a 300w Bash to power it, and now we need to nail down box parameters. I'm thinking of a box around 9 cubes tuned to 15hz, but I don't know where to place the port? Does it matter? The parameters of the sub are: 15" TC-1000 Qts 0.346 Qes 0.381 Qms 3.82 Fs 15.6Hz Res 3.66Ω Ls 2.64mH Lp 3.58mH Rp 3.16Ω Dia 320mm Vas 393l mms 238g cms 433um/N bl 15.0T*m Spl 87.8dB If you think a 9 cube ported box is the wrong way to go, please let me know what we need to build. This home theatre sub will be used mostly for movies, some music probably 80% HT, 20% music. I don't know how to use WINISD, otherwise I would do this my self. This driver is new enough that tc forums don't really have anybody that has built one yet. By the way, I purchase an MJ-18 for my brothers Honda Passport, and it hurts with the parts express buttkicker
