Yes, EACH Atlas 15 is in a 10 cubic foot box tuned to 17hz. That was the recommendation from Ascendant Audio for extended low end output.

I have a pair of Atlas 15's in my HT. Each is in a 10 cubic foot box tuned to 17 hz with a pair of 4 inch flared ports.

The 4 ohm version models a little better. Two 4 inch flared ports 21.75 inches long would tune it to 18hz. The 300 watt Bash amp from Mach 5 is a good match for this sub. WinISD shows Spl to be 106db down to 18hz, and then you add room gain on top of that. A slot port would work too, although I'ver never built one. I've always used flared ports.

Which MJ18? There's an 8 ohm version and a 4 ohm version. Each models differently and has specific requirements.

Two subs inverted on a enclosure is not push pull. When one of the two is inverted then it's push pull. http://www.musicanddesign.com/Isobaric.html

Hi Blue, I built boxes so I could use them as stands for the other speakers. There wouldn't have been enough room to fit everything in if I built tubes. If you get these IXL-18's, I guarantee you'll be impressed!

Considerably? Allowing 1.3 cubic feet for subs and porting still gives him a 8 cubic foot box. Close enough.

The recommended size for the MJ18 ported is 128 litres (4.5 cu. ft.) 30Hz tune. His box internal size is 9.3 cubic feet. Why is everyone saying he can't do a dual ported? What am I missing here?
