  1. you are going to need need to wire it in paralle because hardly any one makes an amp the does that without breaking your wallet. and the 13 w7 is dvc 1.5. so the md2d should make something like that at .75 just make sure you have a stable enough charging system because they don't warrenty anything below 1 ohm
  2. by both i mean for subs not amp too. and is the sundown amp underrated? he is thinking of either 2 12" giving around 750 rms each or 1 single 12" given 1500 hence the Choice of the XXX i would bring up a w7 for 600 bucks on ebay for it to much considering you can get a XXX for that much.
  3. what would you recommend for no more then 500 bucks for both. how loud do think a single 12" XXX would be built to re spec and given 1500 rms?
  4. hi, i am helping a freind with deciding on what subs he wants and he is going for LSQ but doesn't want use more then 1.5k watts for the subs. he is looking at the following; And all of them will be built to manufactor spec. re audio se 12 jl audio 12W6v2 SSA Icon i was leaning more towards the SE but that is only because that is the only one that i listened too.
  5. if you get the 07 line up then there is no difference between the ax and the merlines besides output. merlins = 2krms and below AX =2krms and higher. excluding the tube amps because they are tubes.
  6. if you wired it in paralle you could use a md1d or maybe a md2d might be better. since the 13" w7 has 2 1.5 voice voils.
  7. who makes a reasonable priced amp that puts out 2k rms at 2 ohms besides the zx2500.1
  8. DO you have the electrical for a Sundown amp at .5ohms? Would be right around the power range you would be looking for. 1/0 big 3. 190 amp alternator ( biggest alternator for my car ) 34/78 yellow top, under hood 2 hc2400. in trunk so you tell me or if i don't try that i might try two refurbished kicker sx1250 but that will cost more then a sundown
  9. cool, what about for daily driver. and do you know what it puts out at .5 ohm?
  10. hi, i am going to be getting 2 12" SX and i am looking for an amp for them. they are only dvc2 so the ohm loads it can either be .5, 2 if i get a mono amp or 1 or 4 ohm if i get 2 mono amps. i would like to be as cheap as possable as that means i can get them sooner. which is a good thing. i was thinking of 2 md1d or a md3d if i can find out if they are .5 ohm stable. any suggestions?
  11. ok as the title states i am wondering if the md3d is .5 ohm stable because i going to be running 2 12" SX which is dv2 so my ohm choices are .5,2,8. and the electrical system i have is this, 200ish EA alt, 34/78 yellow top, 2 hc2400 and is all wiried with 1/0 guage wire, and also 1/0 big 3.
  12. and are you going to compete at all because if that unauthorized kicker gets shot to hell it's you that pays.
  13. sounds like you fired your rca cable . was your amp on when you disconnected your speakers?
  14. not to thread jack or anything but how does this compare to the DEH-P980BT because i am debating on the two i like the DEH-P980BT because of the full color and the silver on the deh p880prs does not totally go with anything in my car.
  15. ok i got a few questions: 1, i need help choosing a sub amp here is what i am thinking: us amps XT-4000D used us amps md1d Used ED 9.1 used/refurb kicker sx1250 Hifonics TXi1508D i am trying to not spend more then 300 on the amp and i need 1200rms at 1 ohm. Another question is this: on my car it is a single wire running for the alternator and the way it is suppose to be wired that it came with a 6" long run of 10 guage wire attached to the alternator to a point where then i have 1/0 guage running to the battery. could that 10 guage wire pose a voltage problem for 200 amps. And the last question. i am thinking of using kinetic batteries and they to use a hc1400 under the hood and a hc2400 as a second battery. well this is how i think i want to wire it but i want to make sure that it won't cause any problems. ok, the hc1400 will be set up normal besides that i need to change my side mount terminals to be able to use top mount posted one. and then i already have a 1/0 guage run into a distrobution block then from the distrobution block it goes to 4 guage wire to the amps. now my distrobution block has a 1/0 input 1/0 output and 4 4 guage outlet ( it is the distrobution block that comes with the 1/0 guage kicker duel amp kit) and i am wondering if i could connect the hc2400 postive terminal run to the distrobution block and do the same thing for the ground. oh and sorry for the long post.
  16. does that amp have a clipping detector? my alpine pdx 4 100 did that i what i did to fix that was to pull the fuse for a hour so and the problem went away.
  17. i ordered stickers monday and it still says processing?
  18. i was told that kinetik batteries are not deep cycle batteries.
  19. it's a 96 saturn sl2. ok so a 160 plus a deep cycle battery should be good to go? i don't totally care to much about the bass being to soft but i care mostly about how the speakers because one i sometimes turn off my subs and just listen to speakers. thats the main reason for the jl 450/4. i just mostly want a dd that can sound good and subs that can hit pretty nicely. I am going to use RE se 12" for the subs.
  20. hi, i currently have a 200 amp alternator ( excessive amperage) but i have had a problem. it came with a 2" overdrive pulley and i need a shorter Serpretain belt for it and they don't make one short enough. so i have to go with a 160 Amp alternator because of the Serpretain belt problem. the amps i have/ going to be using are: Us amps md1d @1 ohm (1200 underrated watts) and Jl Audio 450/4 because of the RIP Power supply. Would a 160 Amp alternator be big enough for roughly around 1650 rms watts? and i am going to get a Yellow top Battery under the hood.
  21. you are comparing one line of amps to a whole company's line. plus mmats Efficiency rate on there site is 70% . Merlins are in the high 70 to low 80% and are underrated in there output and in there ohm load when in a more stable eletrical system. the only downside i see with us amps is that you have to get to 1 ohm to get any real power out of them. like the md3d is 625 at 4 ohm
  22. and how do you find it out.
  23. they give out what this site says.

Hi, i was wondering does the MD.42 do 75 x4 @4ohm that this site says or does it do the 90x4 @4ohm that us amps says.
